Every time I come back to watch Cissie and Ada clips I feel safe and nostalgia reigns. I love Les and Roy here, wonderful comedy which makes me feel good. Best tonic if you have had a bad day.
Cissy and and Ada are the most real of women you will ever meet! As a child, this is how women of a vintage age really were - they did not slim down to look like teenagers and wear skinny jeans, drive stupid snob-cars or behave politically correct. I so miss this generation of true crassness it is lost forever.
Their antimacassars.... Have they got relatives?! Ohhhhh that's a lovely poof... Is it the one carrying....... Hahahahahahahaha classic comedy genius!!
Timeless comedy at it's very best. Les Dawson was in a straight play set in Argentina during the depression. His character was an elderly grandmother that never spoke ,it was all done by face expressions. The play was called Nina if my memory is correct. Let's hope someone on you tube knows how to download this gem......I live in hope
Les Dawson, goes without saying, brilliant, but don't forget Roy Baraclough, been in so many different things over the years. A truly underestimated actor and comedian.
I can't breathe. I have laughed so hard. Never seen these sinse I emigrated. thank you so much for posting. I actually had a neighbour like ADA, I wonder if Les knew her? So hilarious and true.
A rare magic.magnificent. Les the master wordsmith.Les always had more lines than Roy Barraclough. And far more intricate wordy less from Ida.And more refined up the social ladder middle-class dreaming Cissie.Pure comedy masterclass.
The funniest comedy ever. . . . Les and Roy should been knighted. . . And not forgetting the writer. . . . . Last. Night I tried to watch. Live from the apollo. . . . What a load of shite. . About. As funny as a fart in a space suits
In fact, preliminary discussions did take place at LWT for a series with Cissie and Ada - sadly Les was already too ill to take the idea any further. What a huge loss.
One of them must be "harpist" - Oh I dunno, he walks alright to me" ROFL - slapping the sides of the chair. SUPERB wit! Sigh - it would be totally lost nowdays, on anyone under 25.
Superb, brilliant, they don't make em like this any more. He never used bad language either. really miss Les' humour.
Fantastic Classic Comedy.
I do love Les Dawson
Cissy and Ada
Great fun.
Roy Barraclough, was
excellent, also, in the Cissy & Ada Sketches.
pure comic genius, its talent like this that makes you proud to be british, it will never be replaced :(
I watch these two great actors whenever I’m feeling down and these sketches bring back so many good memories
You only had to look at these two and start laughing. Classic comedy at its best
How they both got through these scenes 😂. Magic.

Lol your old like me :)
Both of them enjoying it and think lots of ad libbing two of our greatest and sorely missed .
I love how they both have to pause slightly as they are trying not to laugh in their sketches. Oh they were both wonderful.
“Yes they all want to go to Mecca, well we all like a game of bingo don’t we” I lost it at that point
Real pros and millisecond comedy timing . Superb :)

Exactly as a little girl lived going out with ma,and meeting the local women, endless mirth some of it not intended
Wonderful! Always ready for a Les Dawson gag. Thanks.

Pure class, gone forever.
I love how Les doesn't really alter his voice at all. :)
Brilliant absolutely brilliant. So very much missed.
Fantastic, like all these clips, wonderful and timeless.
Nothing drives him, he’s a volunteer!
So magic !!!! Both now entertaining every one in heaven!!!
These characters could have had their own series, like "Still Game". That's how brilliant they were.
Timeless. Absolutely hilarious!!!
Who ever gave this 12 thumbs down are very sad people indeed.
God bless and RIP to these two very funny men.
Les Dawson, goes without saying, brilliant, but don't forget Roy Baraclough, been in so many different things over the years. A truly underestimated actor and comedian.
Fantastic. The best comedy ever.
Cissy :"One of them must be a harpist" Ada : "He seems to be walking all right" LOL!!
Peeking at the side of the net curtains LMAO 🥰

I can't breathe. I have laughed so hard. Never seen these sinse I emigrated. thank you so much for posting.
I actually had a neighbour like ADA, I wonder if Les knew her? So hilarious and true.
Love it...Pre PC
Terry Ravenscroft, Brilliantly written.
In roy barraclough's honour there will be a minute's silent mouthing of rude words.
"the stays keep piercing me gusset!" hahahahahahaha
Cissy: "Come away from that window and straighten those tulles!" Tulles! Only Cissy and Ada.
A rare magic.magnificent.

"They all want to go to Mecca", "yes we all like going to Bingo, try getting away with that line today!
The woke lot would have a field day!
@@envy99976 Would they ever.
Classic 😂😂 Sadly Missed
These clips make me miss my Scottish mom who could talk broad Scots when she felt like it. People are fascinating don't you think?
They are both so so funny ❤❤❤❤❤
It’s true. The secret of comedy is tttttttttttttiming.
mouth dropped - 'they look forighn to me *gasp*
@RebelRadius Sigh - it is. Although I'll be 25 in August. I've seen some of these on repeats. They don't make proper comedy like this anymore... :(
..... well we all like a game off bingo don't we ..... RIP guys, we'll never see the like of you or your humour again.
hilarious and genius. never seen this one before. shame this comedy style has pretty much died a death now
Class Comedy
u couldn't take ada to c the queen bless her.
I had a nosy next door neighbour and one day I was sat on the sofa and looked up and she was leant over her fence and was looking in my window
Great!
Great British comedy out of class and sexual repression.
you dont need to swear to be funny
5:00 he's doing Rob Wilton.
Thanks Fatherjack
Terry
@fatherjack37
lmao
Can't beat great northern humour from the 70'S and 80's. For those of you who don't know Bernard Manning, check him out.
Manning can't touch Dawson.Accomplished musician, classic comedy timing and no nasty racial bias ...Not in the same league. :)
Apart from the Racist stuff the man is brilliant
that was the two ronnies
@lemk19 Cheers (there is hope) :)
