I thought I had seen all the sissy and ada clips but it would seem not, my fav has to be the waitress and the cream lagoon.. Thanks for uploading and bringing back some great memories of these two comedy greats
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂Thank You lads for introducing Cissy and Ada to us. You are missed and loved SO much. Thank You for the tears of laughter
Roy Barraclough was a much underrated comic foil to many great comedians of the seventies and eighties...I remember his appearance in Pink Carnations..an episode of Rising Damp with Leonard Rossiter...they played off each other brilliantly
Fantastic. Roy Barraclough was a friend of mine and he loved making these sketches with Legendary Les. An incredible comedy partnership which can still make us laugh, even when both of them have passed away
@jonathanowen4075 True. Both comedy and drama. He invited me to see him starring in Death of a Salesman. Superb, an incredibly talented man, no ego and always down to earth.
Roy is buried in my hometown Oldham. Often at the Rep in shows. He was a consummate actor. I wish he had done more straight roles. I was watching him, in Last Tango in Halifax recently, and he was more than a match for Sir Derek Jacobi.
Roy…Wonderful actor And Les, he came up through the school of hard knocks. Although he came to our attention courtesy of a talent show, he was worthy of everything that came after . We are still crying with laughing at these two nearly 40 years later, and I despair at how current, so called ‘comedy’ has fallen into the sewers . I’m so glad I lived through this wonderful time of great comedy entertainment. I just wish I’d appreciated it more at the time. You think that everything good is going to last forever when you’re young
The sketch where they are drinking the homemade wine is great. The UCP mugs, which are obviously knicked. Unless you come from Lancashire you will have no idea what the UCP is/was. For all Cissie’s airs and graces, she still had robbed beakers in her house. What is clever is Les plays Ada like a Pantomime dame, whereas Roy plays Cissie, like a furcoat no knickers Northern woman. Les was way before his time. There is nothing cruel about Dawson’s humour. Julian Clary cited Dawson as a great inspiration to him. Him and Dave Allen to me were the two greats. Better than Eric Morecambe, Tommy Cooper, Frankie Howard, Ken Dodd. You can see VW in these sketches too.
How they kept it together is a delight to watch
May they both RIP after bringing so much laughter to the world
"Approaching the change? From which direction?" Brilliant!

He wins top marks for not bursting out laughing. You could see him trying to control it. He was fabulous. They both were.

We wouldn't be allowed to laugh at them nowadays, just say how brave they are and accept them in the ladies changing rooms.
