- My entry to my apartment has been long-overdue for a refresh. So in this video, I give it a total makeover into a modern, transitional space that's welcoming and cozy. AND it's renter-friendly! I'm using removable wallpaper AND adding removable bead board/wainscoting to the wall. Plus a few other DIYs along the way. ✨

You can cut another piece of wood to fill that gap, use wood fillers to smooth out the edges, and paint over. Should give you seamless results :)
That's exactly what I was thinking too. I probably have some scrap pieces I can do it with
Amazing, your Dad will be proud of you. The plant for the corner is a great idea.
YOU DID GREAT AWESOME 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🙏💎
Lamp cane hack is bussin
Hi, I love what you did in the entryway. Maybe you can tweak the branches a bit to make it look more natural. Look at images of that plant to help you. Other than that gorgeous.
Love love this!!! Excellent idea and very rental friendly. For the gap, maybe paint a popsicle stick and put it in the gap( incase someone hasn’t already posted that idea) 😉.
This is what I thought, too.
Aquamarine is dazzling!
I think your little plant-fix worked great for hiding the gap on the coat rack! Good idea! Love the color scheme and practicality of your entryway makeover!
I just discovered your videos today, and I must say, what a delightful young lady you are! Such clever ideas with easy tools, and perfect solutions for semi-permanent apartment living. You have an eye for design and decor! I watched your black & white patio makeover video too, and you inspired me! You are the first DIYer I've ever subscribed to!
Very nice. If it were me, I probably would have painted that wallpaperspot where the hook bar didn't reach and then also put the plant in front of it. The plant was genius.
The command strips you used are really holding up that beadboard??!!!! still working a year later? Beadboard seems to heavy for that to me but if it works awesome! I might try it too.
Since the wallpaper comes all the way down under the coat rack I'd just paint the wallpaper on that side of the rack. Great job on the Entryway!!! We sold our home and are being relocated for my husband job so I always love your videos for great ideas!!
Looks great, Alli. To solve your gap issue, I would cut a piece of white foam board to size and just paint it.
Wow, great job. You have really started to come into your own with your channel and it’s great watching you grow.
Thanks so much Janine! And thanks for sticking around too 💕
Beautiful!! Love this DIY!
Love it! I live in a rental and the landlord replaced the vanity in the bathroom with a smaller one. So now there's a gap between where it ends and the wallpaper starts. Also, some of the wallpaper is peeling off in some places. I was thinking of putting up pole wrap (normally used to cover support columns in basements) on the wall but I may go this route instead. I'm afraid to use nails because I don't want to damage the wall or the pipes behind it as the toilet is also right there. I'm going to try using command strips instead! Thank you for your brilliant ideas and the inspiration too!
Yes!!! Command Strips are lifesavers in rentals! That's a perfect solution to fix your bathroom wall/vanity area
It looks fabulous.
Love the colors and wallpaper that you chose...they make your entry way look so welcoming!
Wow! What a wonderful solution!
Love the wallpaper and paint color combo! You decorated the space beautifully.
This is so smart. I love how you made it feel like it was just built into the wall.
Love your thinking outside of the box and ingenuity when you forgot the paint tray. Entry looks great. Thanks for the upload. P.S. I also chose the same peel and stick wallpaper for my small bathroom.
Beautiful. Love the color you picked and the wallpaper.
Well done Alli! I enjoyed your dining room wall and your entryway as well! Both came out beautifully!
You did a terrific entryway makeover. The breadboard is a very smart way to add color.
This transformation looks great! I just did a similar DIY light fixture in my recent apartment hallway makeover and loved it!
Looks great, Alli! I think the faux plant was a great way to hide that gap and your light fixture is so creative!
That looks awesome! I really like the color you chose for the wall 😊 What an awesome idea to use the cane for a light shade! I love how brave you are to tackle new things and to figure out what to do when things don't go just right. In other words, you keep it real ☺️
I LOOOOOVVVVVEEEEEE the lampshade!
Woah! You knocked it out of the park! It makes the area look bigger. Love this diy, you go girl!
It’s so pretty. You did yourself proud. Love the whole concept of it all.👍🏻♥️🥰
I really loved the color you choose and I think that it turned out so high end! Really great video Ali !
Love love love it Alli!! You’re really inspiring me to get out of my comfort zone and try something like this!!
Wow , you did great transforming your entrance space 🙌🏻🤍
Beautiful!
What a transformation. Thanks for sharing. It’s hard to believe it’s rental friendly
Great job, and love it! ❤
Looks amazing!
You did a fantastic job. This gives your space a very nice homie feel. 😄Linda
You did an awesome job on your entry way Alli, it looks fantastic. It’s always difficult in a rental to make things look nice without damaging or changing things permanently but you mastered it with this, good luck with your living room. I also love the wallpaper and the colour scheme. On the board and coat hooks etc. TFS.
Looks great! Love that colour too!
Oh my gosh! I love this so much! You did an amazing job Alli. Such great ideas that would be easy and inexpensive to do. 🥰🤗
Wow!! It looks beautiful. I love it all. ❤
You are Soooo talented!
Wow!!! You did am AMAZING job!!
Lovely outcome. Good job!
It is amazing. Good job.
Good idea. Loved it 😍
Thanks Angelica!
Good morning from Texas! I just discovered your channel yesterday and I've already enjoyed several videos - especially those about your balcony. I have a question, tho', and apologies if previously answered but that would be HOURS of reading! LOL Anyway, I also live in a small apartment (ground floor) and love DIY'ing but wonder...where on earth do you keep all your supplies...the drills, big staplers, sanders...that sort of stuff. Little stuff I can handle but no room for the big stuff. Thanks!!
So impressed
I feel so proud of you. It looks amazing!!! ❤ I’ll have to try it as well!
Result is amazing!
wonderful job,way to go,keep it up.
Great job 👏
This was absolutely awesome blessings from Cali 🤗🙏🏾
You did a great job! I like the coat rack and your color choice was spot on. Great job!
Thank you Diana! I'm still really loving the color too!
Very cool!!
Beautiful!
My only question is how to access Command strips to pull and release when you move out?
10 out of 10!
Live it!
Beautiful job!
You could just paint over that gap with the blue paint. That would conceal the gap.
I love it.
Well I got the color wrong but the one you picked is nice too tyfs
Looks really nice!! Do you have a link for the wallpaper you used? I love it!
Don't move the shelf either paint the wall paper on that space or fill it up with a piece of wood ( little blocks, or custom cut) and paint it, or also fill the space with some cement, caulk or anything that you could paint there are many things you can do to fix the gap
It looks great. But does the door open without rolling up the rug or banging on the shelf?
There's one of those spring doorstoppers that prevents the door from hitting the shelf (I was worried about that too before building it, but the door has plenty of clearance). I ended up moving the rug back where the navy blue one is from the before footage, I just couldn't "capture" the full effect in the reveal footage with rug placed next to the door. I wish I could keep a rug there so I wouldn't track in dirt on the carpet though 😩
love it
You did an amazing job! I was wondering though, does that door open up all the way with the edge there?
Really cute ❤it
Beautiful design! How can you drill holes on the wall? Do you have the original paint color to repair it when you move out?
My apartment complex doesn't care about putting nails or screws in the wall as long as I spackle over the holes when I move out! Then their maintenance crew will come in and re-paint
I say slate tile would look nice
Very nice
Thanks Joan!
Wonderful share
Where were u when I was living in an apartment! Just so pretty
Oh my that is awesome z
Does the contact paper take off anything from plaster walls? Thank you!
Where did you purchase the beadboard
Bellisimo🎉🎉🎉🎉
😍
Love the idea, but can I ask why you put so much effort into decorating a space that is literally facing the back of your door? I’d be terrified of guests swinging my door open not knowing there’s a whole ass shelf on the other side 😂
Haha that's totally valid! There's a door stopper that sticks our further than the shelf! I made sure it wouldn't hit the shelf/wall before installing everything. I'll probably end up securing the frame with some sticky tack at some point just to be safe though
...or you can use it a gauge to measure long pasta especially if you are on a keto diet.
I don’t think you’ll be able to open that door all the way anymore.
Hi Audri! The door totally opens all the way still, the pegs and shelf are just the right size for the door to clear. I did have to move the rug so the door can open better though!
Great job 👏
