    Webflow completely changed the way I design and develop websites. It makes the coding of websites fast, easy and visual (without needing prior coding knowledge), so I can be more productive, create better results and make more money (since I now charge for the development as well)

    Just start to learn Webflow today. As a freelance web designer I can handle the front end part but it just takes too long to develop a client project. Webflow, Squarespace and Wordpess are awesome tools for us.

    Right! Agree with all you've said! I started to use webflow 2 months ago (I am designer) and webflov give a really nice chance to get into code. Now I am able to make a pretty well-designed sites by my own. And this crazy :-)

    Hi Ran. I'm trying to move to coding as a designer and webflow looks like a pretty good option to bridge the gap beteeen design and development. Two questions: 1. How big is the learning curve with Webflow? 2. What is your experience with the new CMS? Is it any good and do you let clients in on using the CMS?

    • @FluxAcademy
      @FluxAcademy  8 лет назад

      +Harmen Struiksma Hey Herman! The Learning curve depends on your understanding of the conceptual model and properties of HTML/CSS. I knew them, is it was super easy, if you have no experience developing for web, than I guess it's a bit steeper, but they have great videos. as for the CMS - actually I never got to use it on real projects, but saw the tutorials and it looks nice.

  • @antybrand

    that´s what i think... there´s a webflow promo and a video that said: "design without code... " and i think that's not accurate, because what you said: YOU NEED TO KNOW THE LOGIC AND THE WAY HTML+CSS WORKS. And that's why graphic designers need to get into code.

    • @FluxAcademy
      @FluxAcademy  8 лет назад

      +Israel Meza B. but you can understand the logic without knowing how to code, that's much easier.. I hate remembering syntax, properties names ect..

  • @KshitizRimal
    @KshitizRimal 8 лет назад +2

    why didn't you do it directly in webflow? is there any limitation? it seems you are repeating the same tasks twice

    • @dave3k
      @dave3k 8 лет назад +3

      +Kshitiz Rimal I guess it's probably much quicker to make mockups and lay down idea's in Sketch first rather than doing it all in code.

    • @FluxAcademy
      @FluxAcademy  8 лет назад +2

      +Kshitiz Rimal Since webflow is building real and logical HTML/CSS you actually have to know what you are trying to do (and how it will behave on mobile) before you start building, this is why I first design in Sketch and only then move to Webflow. Rarely - when I have simple project, I just do it straight in Webflow.

    • @antybrand

    what do you think is it ok to build websites on webflow and actually sell them to your clients? Or would you just use webflow for buidling and prototyping? And then to show it to the client how it will look? And after that you let a developer build it without webflow? Thanks for your answer Enzo

    • @FluxAcademy
      @FluxAcademy  8 лет назад +1

      Of coures. why would you re-develop it? if it's a static website or using their own CMS there's no need to re-develop

    • @enzomauro90
      @enzomauro90 8 лет назад

      +Flux ok thanks, :) would you recommend publishing it on webflow or export the code and host it on own server? Are also the animations/Interactions in the Code? in which file html or Css? Or does a JavaScript file exist. Thanks

  • @umairahmadmalik

    Question, what do you recommend I can use to design as a windows user? I can't use Adobe XD nor Sketch. Would it be wise to just use a Virtual Machine and get XD? I have PS but its not like Sketch or XD. Also, I use PineGrow its like Webflow but with Wordpress integration.

    • @FluxAcademy

      I suggest you get a mac :)

    • @dedominator
      @dedominator 8 лет назад +3

      Don't bother, I had the exact same problem. My Macbook wouldn't boot but I eventually got it reinstalled and fully up to date. Tested Sketch and was really disappointed. Sketch can't export HTML so you're going to have to manually rebuild HTML either way. You might as well get straight into Webflow, or some other Visual logic building software Editor. Sketch is not Dreamweaver or some other HTML editor. It's more of what Photoshop for web Designers.
      That said, I know exactly what you mean with PineGrow, I'm still playing around with all of them. But I started with Sketch, and I can tell you now. Forget the Hype. It's a tool for real Designers who build things from the ground up.
      I'm currently testing iGloo, Webflow, PineGrow and CoffeeCup Responsive Site Designer. One of them will be my new favorite, but we'll have to see which. Either way, I suggest that you try all of the above before getting a Mac. It's also all far cheaper, so don't go straight for a Mac.

    • @FluxAcademy

      +Victor Berland Totally different softwares. UXpin is much more like inVision, webflow is not for mockups but for building the actual real thing (and than exporting the code or publishing it).

    I looked at WebFlow but was turned off by the restriction to work at the widest, 960px. Do you get around this somehow to code for wider screens? Say 1280px, 1440px or 1600px? Thanks!

    • @FluxAcademy
      @FluxAcademy  8 лет назад +1

      yeah, I don't get that restriction on "containers" either, so I just create me own: take a div and give it 'max-width: 1400'. easy to get around.

    Are you using Webflow CMS hosting or you just export code from Webflow and use your own?

      I've already discussed this in the comments in other videos I think.. maybe I should do a video about it

    • @allthingsgjd
      @allthingsgjd 8 лет назад

      Juan, I have been using Muse since its Beta days when it was invite only, and to be honest, it is getting more and more difficult to use due to the fact that it is trying to be a responsive platform and most of their solutions are a hack, plus it has so many bugs, more and more as they try to expand its capabilities.
      I discovered Webflow about two or three months ago and it has blown me away. The beauty of the interface, the amazingly clean code, the ease of responsive designs, amazing!
      I am already 100% positive it will save me loads of time and therefore make me much more money.
      Could I build a static Muse site faster, YES, but as soon as you try to make it responsive, down the Rabbit Hole you go!
      It is just a nightmare to control, far to many complex interactions going on.
      Not to mention the awesome animations that Webflow allows, way past anything that Muse is capable of, and they work through all device sizes.
      Absolutely you should give Webflow a good test drive, it is one of those skill sets that will just pay you back over and over.
      Oh! I Forgot to mention, their CMS for setting up a blog, amazing! The best looking blogs I have ever seen
