🍕🍕🍕Hey Photowalkers--here's the latest from my San Francisco series. If you love the city like I do, you'll want to see the episodes on North Beach, Chinatown, the Mission, Angel Island and other great spots in the area, which I've put together for you in this playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLNqFHToBXRffnqqFKhzAnlTtTf3NAWpGA

I was in San Francisco in May and must honestly say that we never felt unsafe in any situation. Luckily, I was prepared, and not just because of your videos, Jefferson. So we definitely avoided the Tenderloin and other places we were warned about in the hotel.
When we visited the typical tourist hot spots, we always behaved carefully. However, since I didn't want to do without my DSLR for photography, I always had it with me.
When we were traveling by car, we always had only the bare necessities with us and never left our things in the car.
There were basically only two small situations that could have been difficult. At the end of our first day, we took the cable car to Van Ness Street to catch the bus to our hotel. There was a couple at the bus stop whom I asked for the right bus. My wife said she hadn't asked them as they looked too dangerous to her. But they were both very friendly and helpful.
Another situation was at a kiosk where we had a question. At that moment, a man came out who was quite clearly a drug addict. He saw our questioning faces and helped us straight away, even though we immediately signaled that we didn't have any change to give him.
All in all, our visit to SF was a very good experience, and we would visit this great city again and again.
So, as Scott McKenzie sung in his Song:
If you're going to San Francisco
You′re gonna meet some gentle people there 😍

Glad everything worked out for you--and thanks for chiming in. When I was there in December it was like nothing had changed. SF was still as gorgeous as ever. Financial district just a little quiet and that awful view out the bus near City Hall. Aside from that, glorious!

You make all of your Photowalk episodes appear so polished. Thank you for all of the time and effort you put into making these videos.

Thank you Todd! San Francisco gives you a lot to work with, especially when you get to photograph from a bus and a cable car!

Jefferson High hope it has cleaned up . I used to live on Lombard in San Francisco and worked on Market Street. It was really nice. I wouldn't even go down there now

Janet, I walked up and down Market Street last week. Lower Market was great--a little empty, sadly, but no issues. Upper Market however, not so good. I would recommend that any tourist steers clear of there. Luckily, there really isn't any reason for them to go there. The lower Market with the Ferry Building, Hyatt and cable car still good, and the ride there is one of the best, bringing people to the Powell and California/"Left my Heart" location. Were you on crazy Lombard, in the North Beach area, or by Van Ness?

If you can’t bring your “big camera” then things haven’t changed.
