    @Zeene InRealLife -- it's interesting that you pointed out Pat Montandon's old house at 1000 Lombard, and its reputation as a "haunted house". Two people did indeed die in the house while Pat owned it (one suicide, and one who died in a fire that broke out in the bedroom).
    A couple of years ago I liquidated the contents of that house (the estate of the gentleman who had bought the house from Pat back in the '70s). It's a huge house, with 5 levels, including three that were called "the catacombs", and were below the two main stories. The bottom level -- a little self-contained suite -- was accessible through a trapdoor in the level above it! It looked like the cabin of an old sailing ship in there.
    For about 4 months I was in the house all night, 5 nights a week, to get it ready for the 3-weekend estate sales, and clearing the place out afterwards. Most of that time I was there by myself. Of course there was never any evidence of anything paranormal in there. If there were any ghosts, they had ample opportunity to make their presence known!

      Thanks so much! There are four main carriers here in the Bay Area -- AT&T is largest followed by Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon. I would recommend you check their websites in advance (some offer purchase online) or all have physical retail stores here when you land. Look for the tourist or visitor plans. MVNOs are another option and there's a website here that outlines plans (although not specific to SF): www.whistleout.com/CellPhones/Guides/best-cell-phone-plans-for-visitors

    Great tips! My family and I are visiting San Francisco for the first time in August. We live in England. Would you recommend a hotel in the city centre or is it doable to stay in a hotel near SFO and take public transportation into the city every day? The hotels in the city centre are very expensive and we are a family of five. Many thanks.

    • @ZeeneInRealLife
      @ZeeneInRealLife  5 лет назад +1

      Thank you for watching! Trying to find the right hotel is probably the most problematic part of planning a trip to SF. I'm planning to do a video on this so stay tuned. SFO area hotels are likely in Burlingame or Millbrae (cities in the suburbs outside of San Francisco) and public transport will take you 45min to an hour each way and is probably only feasible if you intend to be in SF a couple days over your trip (assuming you'll spend other days down south). The most expensive cluster of hotels are located around Union Square. Once you move out of that area the rates are better. Check anywhere inbetween Union Square and Fisherman's Wharf -- specifically Northern Nob Hill, Russian Hill and North Beach. You may want to look at AirBnBs instead. I would also recommend Marina/Cow Hollow/Pacific Heights as there are a ton of cheaper motor lodges in a nice area. The public transport is not as convenient but it's a trade-off :)

      @@ZeeneInRealLife Thank you so much for these tips. I thought it took about half an hour from South San Fransisco to Fisherman's Wharf. 45-60 minutes sound a bit too far out. I will look out for your next video about holidaying in San Francisco /California and have subscribed to your channel :)

    • @ZeeneInRealLife
      @ZeeneInRealLife  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Maria! Hmm -- 30 min from SSF to Fisherman's Wharf sounds a bit short -- perhaps check that timing in Google Maps? SFO is located another 15 minutes south of South San Francisco (its own city to the south of SF) in the city of Millbrae. Depending on where you are, it's likely 10-15 minute ride to the BART station, then it's another 30-45 minutes to Union Square/FiDi area (more trains run during rush hour). Hope that helps!

    • @ZeeneInRealLife
      @ZeeneInRealLife  5 лет назад +1

      You may also be talking about 30 min from the southern end of San Francisco proper (i.e. Mission District) to Fisherman's Wharf (northernmost point of the city) in which case ~30 minutes would be correct! 👍😊

    Awesome video, I'm planning a trip but really struggling with how to get around San Francisco. I will have a car but i heard parking can be a nightmare. I will be visiting during the week and will only have 24 hours there. Would be grateful for any tips!

    • @ZeeneInRealLife
      @ZeeneInRealLife  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Nima! Yes parking is a hassle. For getting around generally I recommend you ditch the car and use public transportation. I've made a quick video here that gives an overview: ruclips.net/video/w5v-ev4MB5Y/видео.html In some cases where a car makes sense it's best to take Uber. If you have specific sights you want to see let me know and I can give more specific advice. Have fun!

    • @nimadaily8512
      @nimadaily8512 5 лет назад

      Appreciate your kindess and very quick response, I did watch that video several times but im still a tad confused. The clipper card and one day pass? Does that card mean you can use any transit company for that one day pass price(cable cars etc)? I looked on the websites and still unclear to me. I want to visit twin peaks, golden gate bridge and park, China town, Palace of fine arts, lombard street, painted ladies, fisherman's wharf, coit tower. I think that's most of what i want to cover. Thank you!

    • @ZeeneInRealLife
      @ZeeneInRealLife  5 лет назад +2

      Wow, you are hitting quite a few places :) The Clipper card will work for almost all transit systems but it might be too much of a hassle to set up for a 24 hour period. Sounds like mostly you will be hitting SF sights so primarily you will be riding Muni -- I recommend just downloading the Muni app. You can purchase the one day pass from within the app or one off fares which are good for 1.5 hour periods.
      A quick tip to group some of these by geography --
      1) Take bus/cable car to Lombard, then catch the Hyde cable car at the top to Hyde Street Pier/Fisherman's Wharf, rent a bike there, ride over to Marina to see the Palace of Fine Arts (lunch on Chestnut Street), then cross the GG bridge. You can either backtrack or continue to Sausalito and catch the ferry back. If u want to skip Lombard you can either drive to Fisherman's Wharf (expensive parking) or bus it. Biking: ruclips.net/video/rtROAVBdnmc/видео.html - try Blazing Saddles on Hyde Street then u can bike to Fisherman's Wharf then backtrack to Marina.
      2) Take the bus to Levi's Plaza (or 2-hr parking along Sansome is good here on weekdays), walk up Filbert/Green Steps to Coit, go back down the west side of Filbert Steps to North Beach and then walk over to Chinatown. Or take a bus from the bottom of Telegraph. A bit of Levi's/Coit here: ruclips.net/video/ywFPIxIQQcU/видео.html
      3) The rest are pretty spread out and you can try the bus but I would recommend Uber or driving instead -- start at Alamo Square to see painted ladies, then head over to GG Park, and end at Twin Peaks for the sunset. Given you have such a short time Uber might be better so you're not wasting time finding parking.
      Hope that helps!

      Wanted to go to all these places after watching the video especially Twin Peaks, which I did not know about. Originally planned to take public transport and walk everywhere but given time constraints the most efficient way for me was to take one the many day bus tours, which just about went everywhere mentioned in the video plus Sausalito and Muir Woods. The 360^ view on Twin Peaks was spectacular! Not as windy on the day I went. Also admired the view from the Lyon Street stairs - not just the Bay but the mansions!

    I’m planning a trip to SF. I panned on Public Transit. However, I hear & see negative things about transients. The BART system apparently has serious violent issues in Oakland & the downtown SF. I would like to see solutions for safe(er) public public transit stops for travelers. How do native San Franciscans get to and from downtown?

    • @ZeeneInRealLife
      @ZeeneInRealLife  2 года назад

      Hello! To get a bearing on the transit system in SF, there are two main systems that run through the city; Muni which covers 95% of the routes and BART. Muni are the buses and light rail systems and are generally quite safe. The main issue is with BART (subway system) which runs between the airports/SF and down the southeastern portion of the city from the Bay Bridge to Daly City. It’s right now about as bad/good(?) as the NYC subways. Mostly there are homeless hanging about that the BART police have been trying to police better. You can largely avoid riding the BART once you are in San Francisco and take an Uber from the airport if you want to avoid it on your way into the city.

    Where is the "Full House" house in relation to Lombard Street

    • @ZeeneInRealLife
      @ZeeneInRealLife  4 года назад

      Hi Danielle! The painted ladies in Alamo Square just appeared in the opening sequence - the house used as the exterior shot of the Tanner residence is further up north on Scott (I cover it here: ruclips.net/video/GppK5Y7mTfc/видео.html). Lombard runs along the northern section of the city - so it's approximately 2 miles north from Alamo Square to Lombard and 1 mile north from the Scott house. (I don't know if you are thinking of a particular portion of Lombard so I just measured distance from the section that was closest - it's pretty far if you are thinking of the famous crooked portion of Lombard).

      @@ZeeneInRealLife I've seen Alamo Square in real life , my sister and I did the Magic Bus tour , which I highly recommend when we were in SF in 2016 and passed by Alamo Square park and the painted ladies, which I knew what they were having been a loyal Full House fan until it went off when I was 13.
      I watched your video that Aquatic park is in and that brought back the FH episode where than Tanners' dog Comet takes a female dog he meets at Aquatic Park on a cable car tour of the city and the family fans out across the city to find him. Once everything is control with the viral situation we're all dealing with, wil you consider the idea of doing a video of some of the filming sights of shows and movies have been in SF throughout the years? Being born and raised in LA, I've encountered happening upon filming being done either driving through Downtown LA , in my neighborhood (once or twice but not that often, but I live 15 minutes from Sony Pictures) and going to tapings of shows.
      Just by accident, years ago, my mom and I happened on a scene being filmed for "NYPD Blue' while driving down some of back streets near the Ronald Reagan state building. Dennis Franz who played Det. Andy Sipowicz actually came up to our car and long story short , some of NYPD cars that were in the scene and were being used to block the street, were moved so we could pass wince we were on a one way street.
      Another time, I had to go do Jury duty downtown (I wasn't licked for the case in the end. The presiding judge on that case ended up presiding over Michael Jackson's former Dr's trial) i saw a scene for the HBO show " Big Love" being filmed on the steps of City Hall.
