I was so Shocked when I found out that this guy played Pepper in Modern Family was Timon in the Lion King. And he didn't have to do a voice, this is his actual voice!!!

Hearing this man brings back happy childhood memories. Eating a bowl of cereal in front of the TV on a Saturday morning, I hadn't a care in the world (apart from the typical playground conflicts), and TLK was my all time favorite movie. God, I miss the 90's!

Nathan Lane is versatile. He is now starring on the Showtime series Penny Dreadful: City of Angels as a detective. Great dramatic acting.

I just love this guy! Timon is one of my fave characters, and I just love him! :D I'm glad Timon and Pumbaa were in the film; it needed that comic relief.
The funny thing is when he talks about Ernie I think about him in mousehunt because he plays a character named Ernie in that movie.

As the voice of that tiny, little known animal, he really stole the show. Nathan Lane is an incredible talent alright.
The screenplay I am tweaking started out as a comedy, but really grew into a serious drama. While I know of Nathan mainly from humorous roles, I could totally see him as the hard boiled father (who I really envisioned as Detective Munch, from Law and Order.)
He was great voicing timon in the lion king.

You know Nathan Lane won 2 Emmy Awards for Outstanding Performer In An Animated Program for his work on Timon & Pumbaa and Teacher's Pet.

Disney made the RIGHT choice in making Nathan Timon! One of the most memorable character's on DISNEY HISTORY!! PERIOD.
He originally auditioned for Zazu before that too I read.
@@rileyjones3703 In the interview with Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick for one of the newer DVD versions, Nathan confirmed he only auditioned for the hyenas, not Zazu. That was very interesting watching them look back on the Lion King. :) You can find it here on RUclips - extended interview with Nathan and Matthew.

Yep. He definitely hammed it up and added some nasally gruff tone to timon but essentially Timon has his voice
I remember him as Snowbell from the Stuart Little series. He got replaced somehow later on. He is the only Snowbell

He speaks Timon's language,because he's the voice actor behind Timon. I downloaded his photo to my "Voice actors" folder from the computer.
The fun fact is that Timon and Pumbaa are voiced by two flemish actors in the dutch version of the film! They were the two only characters voiced by Belgian actors, who could continue doing the job thanks to the popularity of the characters!
i feel like it's always underappreciated how much Timon and Pumbaa mean to the Lion King.
here you are, and emotionally wrecked child: you saw Simba's life in danger, his dad dies after having a heart to heart a few scenes ago, Simba cries in agony, he cries for help, he cries in despair. now you're just as done, and dried up from all the spent tears, as he is lying there about to die himself
and in come the cavalry of comic relief to pick you right back up
Lie down before you hurt yourself. What do you want me to do? Dress in drag and do the hula? ROFL! Timon is one of my favorite characters when I was a kid. He poked me in the chest during The Lion King parade @ Disneyland.
he was great as timon, just like Irons was great as Scar and Atkinson was great as Zazu. Those 3 stole the show !

June 1995, my dad gave me the vhs for my 6th birthday (still have it, still watch it). your're right, great childhood memories. being a 90s kid was SWEET.
@creaturelover I dont think it just destoyed pochantas b/c both are considered classic and very well known. I like both features myself and feel very proud to have grown up w/them.

I guess Timon and Pumbaa were Rosencrantz and Guildenstern if a Shakespearean theme of Hamlet could be superimposed on The Lion King.

@naly202 Thats a matter of opinion I suppose. Both Are really great and have good morals and storytelling to them. it was just sad that people were taking one more seriously than the other at that time.

@naly202 LOL I know but it got much more focus back then plus they didnt release much of the story it was two projects and they say Pocahontas is based on a true story or I dont know so Im guessing they were interested more out of what Disney would do with that now when Disney released the first sneak Preview trailer on Aladdin 1993 VHS which contained the first few minutes the Circle of life song everybody said YEAH lets WE WANT TO SEE THIS then they went into it to full amount
