    1. Dont sing while cooking coz you will never get married or you will have white hair.
    2. Dont eat at the dark or else the spirit will eat with you.
    3. Dont comb your hair at night or else you will be bald.
    4. Dont take a shower if you have your monthly period or else you will be crazy
    5. Dont sleep while your hair is wet or else you will became blind.
    6. Dont play with your shadow or else you cannot sleep at night.
    7. Dont cut your nails at night or else your father might die.
    8. When someone leave the house and the others are still eating you should rotate your plates 3x.
    9. Dont pretend your crying or else someone will die.
    10. Dont read the names of the dead people in cemetery coz you are calling them and they might come to you.
I can list more than 10 coz I grew up with parents that have so many beliefs and superstition. Some may call it stupid but still its part of our childhood and thats mold us for what we are now.

    Here are some: :D
    1. Magwalis lang sa umaga at hapon. Wag sa gabi, kasi malas daw. At dapat papasok sa bahay. Para papasok ang swerte.
    7. Pagnaliligaw, baligtarin ang damit na soot.
mmm.. isipin ko pa if may maalala pa ako.. hehehe

DSOUNDZ konting dagdag from what i know.
      2. wag daw lalabas kasi namimili sila ng magiging kamukha ng anak nila.
      4. pag daw nakaharap maganda/gwapo, panget pag nakatalikod. lol

    • @chiijunchu9189
      @chiijunchu9189 9 лет назад +6

DSOUNDZ To add into what you've mentioned:
      8. Don't sing while cooking/washing the dishes if you don't want to be an old maid.
      9. If you have a dream about tooth/teeth being pulled out, it means a family or a close friend will die.
      10. Don't open an umbrella inside the house because it will bring bad luck.
      11. If a child's baby tooth comes out, throw it on the roof for good luck.
      12. if you bite your tongue, somebody's thinking of you. If you ask another person for a number, that number corresponds to the first letter of that person's name.
13.Don't look in the mirror at midnight, you will see a ghost looking back at you.
14.If siblings get married within the same year; one sister/brother will live a happy marriage, the other a miserable one.
15.Don't step over someone when they're lying down, they will not grow taller.
      16. If someone dies, children related to him/her should be lifted across the coffin so they won't get haunted by the deceased.
17.If a moth flies inside the house, it is a deceased family member visiting.

+Chii Junchu 9. If you have a dream about tooth/teeth being pulled out, it means a family or a close friend will die.(I experienced dreaming that one and nothing happened) 12. if you bite your tongue, somebody's thinking of you. If you ask another person for a number, that number corresponds to the first letter of that person's name.(My friends always ask me a number every time they bite their tongue haha..)15.Don't step over someone when they're lying down, they will not grow taller.(I accidentally stepped over my classmate last time and he made me go back in fear that he'd stop growing -_-).haha

    - When it is raining and sunny at the same time, 'tikbalangs' are getting married
    - If you are having a meal with your family and one has to leave immediately, you have to spin your plates (to avoid accidents)
    - In wakes of murder victims, a chick is placed on top of the coffin for the chick to 'peck away at the perpetrator's conscience'

I am not a Pinoy...But when I lived there a neighbor had an ALBINO son. She told me that the reason for it happening was she accidentally looked at the sun while she was pregnant..The brightness was supposed to burn out his color....I spent about 3 months trying to prove that it was heredity. She finally believed me when a new educated priest agreed with me.....
She wasted twenty years of her life in guilt.

That would be a BIG no....They were virtually social outcasts...The boy was bullied his whole life and she was boycotted in the barrio and the rest of the town..Small town and lots of talk.....He was different in a country where if you are different you can become a target..Plus he could not go out in the sun so he went out at night only...Try to research beliefs in the Philippines..

When I lived in the province, there is this "albino" who has been the talk of our town, and to think that person actually lived in another town 10km away from ours. I believed he is also bullied by his peers and even adults, and nobody really cares. Sad truth.

    - cutting your babies/toddlers eyelashes, will make them grow longer
    - babies should never touch the floor until they are 1 year old (i forgot why though)
    - when leaving a cemetery, you're supposed to burn a fire on the cemetery and walk through the smoke, to not bring any ghosts home
    - no pictures while pregnant, it's bad luck
    - put a coin in your sock for good luck
    - wear something round for good luck
    - wear red on your birthday (or is that just a tradition?)
yup that's about the main things i've learned from my mom and family - wow we have such strange beliefs and i do believe in most of them :D

Haha can so relate to the Duwende belief. I was born in Manila, but my mom's family is from Pampanga. So, when I was living there my mom told me I somehow angered the duwende and it cursed me to get sick. My whole family has told me the same thing too. I think I was playing and fell on top of their house something along the lines of that. I would always get yelled at for stepping over a person. So, when a person is lying down don't step over them otherwise, they won't grow taller. If your toilet is facing the door make sure the seat is always down otherwise your money is going down the drain.

I asked why my newly born grandson has a squiggly mark on his forehead in a photo last year.

    1. Don't point at a rainbow coz if you do, your finger will be cut off. If you did, you have to lightly bite it to prevent it from being cut off
    2. If any glass equipments/utensils falls accidentally and breaks, it means a loved one has gotten a serious injury
    2. Don't sweep at night, you'll be sweeping off the luck from your house
    3. Don't cut your nails at night, it means that you are cursing your parents
    3. Close all windows at night because spirits or ghosts will enter the house if you don't
    4. Always say "tabi tabi po" when throwing garbage/walking by/spitting on etc a place where there are not a lot of people present and there are a lot of trees especially at night to not disturb mythical creatures
    5. Do not laugh if there are thunderstorms or else lightning will hit you
    6. Do not play with pets especially cats when raining because a lightning will hit you
    7. Do not eat the chicken's tail or else your boy/girlfriend will leave you
    8. If you have a stye, it is assumed that you peeked at a pregnant woman's vagina
    9. Every old Acacia tree is the home of mythical creatures so always pay your respect when passing by by saying tabi tabi po
    10. If you see a person who doesn't have a philtrum (that canal thing between nose and mouth) it means he/she is an enchanted/supernatural being
    11. Don't take pictures of a baby while its sleeping, it might bring harm to the baby
    12. Whe you're in a cemetary, make sure you high jump on a smoking bonfire before leaving so that the spirits that has been following you around will not follow you home
    13. Don't look at the mirror while raining, you'll be hit by a lightning
    14. When swimming in sea or rivers, don't joke about a shark/crocodile/snake coz it might appear

    1. When you sing while cooking you'll get married to an older guy.
    2. If you eat in different plates in one go/meal time you'll get married to several guys (depends on the amount of plates you've used).
    3. When you're still eating and they have tidied the plates while you're still eating you'll never get married.
    4. You're not allowed to cut your fingernails and toenails at night because it's bad luck.
    5. You're not allowed to sweep at night because you're getting rid of good luck.
    6. You can't sleep while your hair is wet, you'll become blind.
    7. If you are going to have a wee outside because you can't have access to the toilet you have to spit on you're wee after.
    8. You have to offer food to the dwarves if you have angered them.
    9. During special occasions you have to offer food in the altar for your loved ones who have passed away.
    10. If you want to have a flawless and hairless armpit don't remove the first hair in your armpit and wait for it to go away on its own. 😂
and many more. It really is more fun in the Philippines. 😍❤
