Iron Maiden- For the Greater Good of God
This one, When The Wild Winds Blow and The Talisman are the best songs on this album.
Man who would be kind was also from this album?
krisx2S yeah the man who would be king is probably one of the best songs on the album.
@@Scholsey01 Together with Mother Of Mercy and Isle Of Avalon easily the best of the rest imo. So I definitely can definitely understand the liking for The Man Who Would Be King. :)
Very good songs but the 3 I mentioned in my first comment are definitely my favourites.
En Vivo has a fantastic version of When the Wild Wind Blows.
My top 2 from the album are Wild Wind and Avalon
Starblind is one of the greatest songs of all time. Not just metal, rock, whatever, in general, one of the best pieces of music ever written
Perhaps THE most underrated Iron Maiden jam
@@andyb1653Next to "Judas my guide" yes.
@andyb1653 Oh and "The thin line between love and hate." Bruce's finest vocals there on the back half.
@@EddieTHead2266 Yes. Those are both excellent, and quite underrated.
But even most 'maiden fans don't even know Starblind EXISTS.
"What ever God you know, he knows you better than you believe" I love that line. I was living under a bridge first time I heard it and it gave me hope
Iron Maiden: For the greater good of god.
Such an underrated record in Iron Maiden's canon. I do not know if it was the band's intent but the last 3 songs of that record (For the Greater Good of God, Lord of Light, The Legacy) seem to share a common theme and work as a song suite. To me those songs function as some latter period Rime of the Ancient Mariner like Empire of the Clouds does for Book of Souls.
@@tristramcoffin926 I agree, the three last songs on AMOLAD are so amazing and feel like they just have ti be listened together
The amount of people that misunderstand this utter masterpiece is astounding. In fact the whole album, criminally underrated.
When the Wild Wind Blows is another great one from this album
They need to do that one live.
@@davidward2651 they did..
En vivo
@@rivlesbeware I meant they should react to the live version.
Caught Somewhere in Time by themselves 🤘🤟🤘🤘🤟🤘🤟🤘🤘🤟🤘🤘🤘🤟🤟🤘🤘🤟
When The Wild Wind Blows --just do it!! Peace...
Iron Maiden to do next - Infinite Dreams, Phantom of the Opera, Blood Brothers (Rock in Rio version) ❤️
Iron Maiden is my religion!!! UP the Irons \m/
Steve and Bruce LOVE Prog, and it really comes out in this song.
This one is also written by Adrian
I am just watching this and it occurs that something that has always been central to Iron Maiden's music is existential existence, the wondering of our destiny of souls. They are such a deep amazing band.
Iron Maiden - Infinite Dreams
They have reacted to a few Iron Maiden songs, but they have so many Iron Maiden songs that they have not listened to yet. Some time in 2020, they hopefully will react to amazing songs like Phantom Of The Opera, Strange World, Charlotte The Harlot, Wrathchild, Killers, Another Life, 22 Acacia Ave., Run To The Hills, Total Eclipse, To Tame A Land, Where Eagles Dare, Revelations, Flash Of The Blade, The Duelists, Back From The Village, Stranger In A Strange Land, Caught Somewhere In Time, Sea Of Madness, The Clairvoyant, Infinite Dreams, Moonchild, Tailgunner, Mother Russia, Holy Smoke, Be Quick Or Be Dead, Afraid To Shoot Strangers, Man On The Edge, Lord Of The Flies, Edge Of Darkness, Futureal, When Two Worlds Collide, Como Estai Amigo, Ghost Of The Navigator, Dream Of Mirrors, The Thin Line Between Love And Hate, No More Lies, Journeyman, The Reincarnation Of Benjamin Breeg, For The Greater Good Of God, The Legacy, When The Wild Wind Blows, The Talisman, El Dorado, If Eternity Should Fail, The Red And The Black, and The Book Of Souls. That is just a few songs that I don't think that they have reacted to yet. As much as they love Iron Maiden so far, they should do at least one Iron Maiden song every week or it could take a long time to go through the songs they have not listened to yet. Iron Maiden is and has been my all time favorite band ever for over thirty years. As always UP THE IRONS!!!!!!!
Up the irons! One of my fav. bands!
UP THE IRONS!!!!! RIVETHEADS SHOW YOUR HORNS!
I can't believe you guys listened to this song, it's such a hidden gem along with many of their other songs! I made a few lyric vids on songs I believe deserve more recognition and I'm gunna continue (:
About the lyrics, this song is from the perspective of someone who is dying and is telling to us what he is discovering about spiritualism and god in his journey ....
"Take my eyes, the things I've seen
In this world coming to an end.
My reflection fades, I'm weary
Of these earthly bones and skin
Dio - All The Fools Sailed Away
Elf - Carolina County Ball
Rainbow - Rainbow Eyes
Black Sabbath - Nightwing
Dokken - Kiss of Death
Bruce Dickinson - Arc of Space
From the golden era: Infinite Dreams or Caught Somewhere in Time please
Yes.You haven't done any maiden in awhile. More Maiden, More Megadeth!!
From the later albums: The Longest Day(studio version) , The Talisman or When the Wild Wind Blows (live versions)
Oh yeah.
Also Paschendale (studio, greater dynamic range). Paschendale has become, IMO, their most epic song.
@@LocoDirewolf They already did Pachandale
Moonspell - Full Moon Madness
Moonspell - Night Eternal
All the oxygen that trapped us in
A carbon spider's web."
Bruce is singing about cellular respiration and its role in synthesizing the organic molecules that are the basis of biological life
This is Maiden's masterpiece among masterpieces.
I notice Sori is rocking the "have a dope ass day" shirt from Alex Hefner! Dope! :D
Iron Maiden - Revelations
Iron Maiden - Infinite Dreams
Iron Maiden - When The Wild Wind Blows..
Live version
Revelations, is a must. I would argue for Sea Of Madness and Remember Tomorrow
Iron Maiden - Blood Brothers!!
saw maiden in buffalo. \m/ first time seeing them. up the irons.
Valla temazo que se escucharon, nunca cambiare de opinión, Iron maiden siempre será la mejor banda de todos los tiempos y Bruce Dickinson el mejor vocalista de todos los tiempos!!!!!
Iron Maiden: For The Greater Good of God (witg lyrics) will blow your minds
Bless you both, great reaction. It helped me a lot. Thank you.
This song is such an outstanding piece of music and lyrical mastery
Maiden:
For the greater good of God
Blood brothers
Where the wild wind blows
The educated fool
Finally a list that has a Blaze Bayley song on it. I have a feeling that they are so used to just Bruce Dickinson that they will not like the Blaze Bayley era or even the Paul Dianno era. All three eras are amazing to me but some people get used to certain things and can't be open minded on change. Hopefully I am wrong and they will at least appreciate every era. UP THE IRONS!!!
Nice Hefner shirt.
have a dope ass day and what ever you get up too, peace
Damn i love this song.
Iron Maiden for the greater good of god, Iron Maiden dance of death !
Dance of Death is a disaster. For the Greater Good of God is an amazing song.
Tristram Coffin are you fucking crazy ? Dance of death is one of there best story bound songs !
They already did Dance of death
This is a thinking man's metal.
So grateful for this reaction.
Iron maiden - the trooper if u haven't done it already
Yes The Trooper,LIVE ,from LEGACY OF THE BEAST Tour, please. (so they can see Bruce.fighting Eddie)
@@mikaeljansson4563 ohh ya
@@mikaeljansson4563 Rock in Rio
When Infinite Dreams ?
The Red and Black. You will want to go for a Jog right after the song. Simply Awesome !!!
So many deep metaphors in this beautiful song. O2 trapped us in a C spider's web: that's cellular respiration and organic (bio) chemistry with carbon scaffolds. The crucible of pain will forge the blanks of sin, again - painful birth (crucible of pain) will give us kids who are innocent (blanks) but will grow up to sin as adults to repeat the process.
Poetic genius.
Does anyone remember when the ranked Hallowed be thy Name a 5? Aaahahaha... Arguably the greatest heavy metal track and they gave that song a 5...
Iron maiden - For the greater good of god
If you will do Maiden next you have to do
Phantom of the opera
Idles of March/Wrathchild
Both songs studio versions.
Live is best
@@TrollGamestv i know but they have to try dianno voice too.
@@rohantiwari7801 thats true.
@@shaneriley4401 I prefer the 2014 version...
@@rohantiwari7801 They did Prowler and they hated that song...
Iron Maiden - Afraid to shoot strangers
Thank you too Sorie
dreams can trigger some deep conversations. you guys always keep me thinking. first you talk about the song, then you follow it into all the bigger places where it can go. kudos.
The more you meditate upon the theme of one’s own Inner Light as a way through/past dogmatic belief systems, the more this song feels like a twin sister of “Revelations” (“The Watcher In The Ring/ It Is YOU.”)
🕯🙏💙🌹✨🖖♊️☸️
Imagine flying over a dystopian sci-fi cityscape (e.g. Blade Runner or Akira) at night with that main riff in the background tho. Gives me chills.
U guys are veterans in the community of reacting to music by now. And im glad you are digging into the older gods of rock and metal. Maiden is and will forever be gods of metal tho. Seeing them next summer is gonna my 6th time. And they dont do anny basement gigs anymore like they started out like everyone else. Ben keeping on for 40+ years as a metal band is heavy. They are getting older but we love them. Always.
I realy liked Vin's thought process about this song
"So live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about their religion; respect others in their view, and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life, beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and its purpose in the service of your people. Prepare a noble death song for the day when you go over the great divide.
Always give a word or a sign of salute when meeting or passing a friend, even a stranger, when in a lonely place. Show respect to all people and grovel to none.
When you arise in the morning give thanks for the food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies only in yourself. Abuse no one and no thing, for abuse turns the wise ones to fools and robs the spirit of its vision.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home."
this is what I believe in.....
Yes! Absolutely beautiful!💞
Where is this from? Your use of quotation marks makes me think this is s quote from a book.
@@One_Proud_Papa it's a poem...i can remember i think its called act of valour...
Very interesting progressive sound in this song as well as other songs from the same album like the isle of Avalon, when the wild winds blow etc
Epica - Kingdom of heaven
Can you react IRON MAIDEN- TALISMAN EN VIVO.
If You wan the running feel, listen to "be quick or be dead" or "man on the edge" :P
21st century Maiden is a little different from classic Maiden. It's more progressive and "cerebral" I would call it. But it's still got all the Maiden trademarks.
This very song could be part of "Somewhere in time" album.
I would say they've always been cerebral, all you have to do is analyse the deep metaphors in the lyrics to 2 Minutes to Midnight to see that. But they're definitely more proggy now.
Dimmu Borgir - Prudence's fall
Nice to see Sori wearing another RUclipsr's t-shirt (Alex Hefner) 👍
Sori, your dream reminds me of a book series by Ted Dekker. He writes Christian fiction. The first book is : "BLACK", book-2 "RED" book-3 "WHITE" 4- "GREEN." It's an awesome read!!!
The Birthday Massacre - In The Dark
Drive safely
You guys should check out Como Estias Amigo by Maiden from the virtual Xi album it is written by 3rd singer blaze bayley, I promise you you won't regret it.
This ones a banger 👌
29;42 sori hit it! good on you.thumbs up.
Vinand Sori Please do EARLY IRON MAIDEN - the Paul Di'anno Years. No lives @ first. Many amazing songs on those first two albums. Much different style vocalist. Not that I don't love Bruce, it's just after a while can kind get to one. I love Pauls style best for Maiden so much.
"Remember Tomorrow" and "Prodigal Son" really showcases Pauls talent! Many try to say that he cannot sing. It is like the Dave vs Kirk Wars. But why can't one like both? Why does everybody have to choose? Too many just do not know how to compromise. But anyway, tryout Paul and tell us what you think?
Chances are you (Vin & /or Sori) won't read this so someone else is going to have to make the suggestion that has money I guess? Is a good suggestion though, agreed?
hmpz36911 they did prowler and hated it lol
@@thetacochannel8817 i forgot. So unfair. Probaly focused on theme which turned them off. Why i also thought to open up to better tracks.
Purgatory, Phantom, Prowler, Prodigal Son, (P's for Paul, lol) Remember Tomorrow, Strange World, Drifter...
One of thems...?
Sori I think it is awesome that you are supporting another reactor's channel as you're wearing a shirt from Alex Hefner.
I love you guys! You are beautiful people!💞💞💞💞I love this song!
Do the red and the black live maiden
22 acacia avenue please it’s one of my favorites
Original with Paul!
@@hmpz36911 so Charlotte the Harlot then?
Xtreme Destroyer LOVE ALL EARLY IRON MAIDEN - the Paul Di'anno Years best. Not that I don't love Bruce, it's just after a while just kinda gets to one. Too many think that because Paul was Punk he could not sing. Just open those ears dammit! No need for battles. Just stating facts.
Charlotte is AWESOME. Also love Purgatory, Phantom, Prowler, Prodigal Son, (P's for Paul, lol) Remember Tomorrow, Strange World, Murder in the Rue Morgue, Drifter... Not one bad track on those first 2 albums. Top notch across the boards. OH, how we wish he would be able to get all together & go back with Steve!
hmpz36911 Genghis Khan is kinda boring though
i love that album
Guys, really you should listen to Revelations, Sea Of Madness or Remember Tomorrow.
Septic Flesh - Virtues of the Beast
Since Bruce Dickinson and Adrian Smith rejoined the band Maiden have become more Progressive Metal/Rock. Big Maiden fan I love the old and the new and always look forward to your Maiden Reactions
Finally a $75 pick with good taste. Maybe next time vin and sori don’t wait to be paid to do this great band. One song by maiden a month should be the target with their massive catalog of quality songs
Iron Maiden - Revelations should be next. Really curious about your take on the lyrics
Up the Irons!!
Part of me wonders if this has anything to do with Cthulhu. There are a lot of references to stars in H.P. Lovecrafts work and there are refernces to "The Elders". Eh, maybe i'm reaching... Also, remember that Nico McBrian ( the drummer in Iron Maiden ) is a born again Christian.
Do the epic song"nomad"
"To me, 2+2 is always going to be 4." Vin doesn't understand how math works. In base 4 math 2+2=10. In base 3 math 2+2=11. I swear, every time Vin talks about anything with any amount of confidence he proves how smart he isn't.
LOL, I'm giving you a thumb up for both understanding and broaching base numerical systems.
Good guy thanks man
Iron Maiden's drummer is Christian for sure. He spoke openly about it. Not sure about the rest of the band although Bruce had some interesting lyrics on some of his solo albums that seemed to suggest he was Christian. Check out the song "Jerusalem" by Bruce Dickinson sometime. Great song.
You should react to the isle of Avalon from the same album the final frontier
Check Somewhere in Time and you'll run like crazy
An obscure song like this will get a review.. Which is GREAT.... But NO ONE ANYWHERE will give a review to One of the GREATEST SONGS EVER.. And that is "FLASH OF THE BLADE" by of course Iron Maiden". PLEASE...I BEG..
That’s an amazing song !!! You should react to The isle of Avalon !!!!
What about the "physics" in these lyrics?
Is true freedom, a life free from our "mortal bodies" possible in a completely different place, where where all suns are fused to one, like a big black hole or after the Big Crunch? Is freedom from religious dogmas possible with applying consequently our growing physical knowledge ??? What do you think ?
i bought this album listen few times and never go back to it again, what about you ?
Opposite for me, the album grew on me over time.
There are some tracks on it that are classic maiden Tracks....not this one tho
@@matthewwinter5780 It's funny, this song and Rainmaker are two songs that don't distinctly sound like Maiden, and that's why I like them.
I listened to it probably about 15x. There's some really good songs on it, but no, I don't ever revisit it. Even though it probably contains the best work Adrian Smith has ever put down on an album.
I think some old school fans don’t like they’re later records because they prefer the simpler stuff but honestly maiden is a very intelligent band and I prefer these songs due to the fact that it rly is the band being themselves and letting they’re intelligence and imagination show through their music
We all have are own ora
OMG, you guys NEED to do The Talisman next
lol, if Vin wants to Run , gallop, go crazy with songs from "The Final Frontier", listen to El Dorado( Live, En Vivo) (Iron Maiden's only Grammy Award Winning Song) or The Talisman(Live, En Vivo)....., Every Iron Maiden record has all kinds of inspiring songs, lyrically or musically and mostly both....., Starblind is just different, slower, more lyrically driven..., still awesome!!.., up the Irons!!!!
Iron Maiden : Phantom of the Opera (Live 2014)
yesssss
Progressive style
isle of avalon off same album is also class
Sori has an Alex Hefner t shirt lol
Do it makes them disappear by pantera. Hardest song off the last record RTS
Again Nice reflections! Im inpresed by your ability to reconnice the beauty of other relegion.
I an not animore an christian. I was mostly afended by people that just telling me what to believe. They also did not had ansers for my questions.
Now i am an atheïst with an open mind for the good of religion🙂
🤘Rock on!
Iron Maiden : Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
I had the same feeling when I listened to this entire album. Felt more like a Bruce solo album than it did an Iron Maiden album. I couldn't get into it. I think it's probably their worst. Sadly, I like the artwork better than I did the album.
