I feel like in the past these types of movies would have flown under the radar in favor of comedy or action movies with huge stars. Even Films like Drishyam which belonged in this category of slow burn thrillers still had to rely on Mohanlal to Sell tickets. Kishkindha Kaandam - right from the title of the movie to the last climax - is a masterpiece of thrilling "psychological misdirection". Just when the audience think that they have got the plot , right exactly then, they are thrown off course and forced to recalculate . Splendid job by everyone in each department !!!.

I absolutely loved the 3D format , because of how advanced it was, at least for some shots. Also In the movie it never says that "Maniyan" is the son of "Kunji Kelu". But the director places some hints here and there, Maniyan came from the same place to which the lover of Kunji Kelu left to. I believe that this is not explicitly explained because we as an audience can believe what we are comfortable in. If we are comfortable thinking Tovino is indeed the descendant we can, but there are also no strong proof that, Maniyan is the son of Kunji Kelu.

    Mattu vadalara = मत्तु वदलरा
    ≠ मत वडल्रा
मत्तु (Telugu) state of being unconscious
    वदलरा = वदुलु(or ओदुलु) + रा
    वदुलु = leave (छोड़ो)
रा = just like यार (most common word to call a friend )
    My mother tongue is kannada
    Mother land is Telangana
