I dont know how curling works, but one time i was so stoned, i watched curling for 2 hrs and started cheering for canada when they won even though i had no idea what was going on 😅😂
I recognized Middaugh’s 5’er from the overhead shot. I remember watching it on TV, as it was the premiere game that night. My dad was at the Winnipeg Arena and saw it live.

Thanks again for your help! As a personal remark, it saddens me that these kinds of lists usually ignores draws/touch shots. Don't get me wrong, I first got into curling by watching highlights of big hits, but I've since gained appreciation for draws, and I feel like they're forgettable for most people and they're usually underrepresented in highlights.
@@CurlingClips - I tend to agree. One of my fav shots is Pat Simmons "Bite the White" to win the Brier a few years ago. I love how the sound of the crowd increases as the stone rolls closer to target.
Not to mention TSN might not have the rights to show anything from the Olympics - the IOC guards it's broadcasts like a dragon guards its horde, and CBC is the Olympic rightsholders in Canada.
#5 was not a particularly high-precision shot to make. Just a simple in-off. Should not have been in the top 15 at all. Surprising to see that Dave Nedohin didn't make the cut, but with the judges making choices like #5 I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
This is not my list, I'm just combining the 3 separate segments from the TSN special, and annotating it. I agree that #5 as executed was not a skill shot, just a dramatic finish due to measurement for the title.
@@CurlingClips Thanks - I replayed it a few times trying to figure out why it was in TSN’s list. Looks to me like in-turn and out-turn draws were both there, just needing to bite the four-foot. So an odd call, but maybe she wasn’t confident in her draw weight that day. Even so, an open hit and roll??
@@CurlingClips There was also some historical significance to the shot - in 73 trips to the Scotties, this was the only end where Colleen had more than three rocks in play. Also, was this the time that she took off her mitt and put it in the hack because the hacks were icy?

Love this! But let's be honest. These are not the top 15 curling shots of all time; only a selection of the best Canadian televised shots. I have seen even better shots than these on home video etcetera.

The only thing better than Al Hackner’s shot was his grace and sportsmanship immediately afterwards. Not even a fist pump. I love his demeanour.
these players are so good, that its amazing to see them celebrate so much after pulling off such incredible shots!!!
Great list, but that #6 Glenn Howard shot was 🔥🔥

The best part of this video was hearing Don Whitmans voice again.
Best part was the end of the video.. sounds like a elementary school yard with all the screaming

I guess this is what I get for watching all the bob sled and luge accidents.
Man those last 5 were soemthing else

Yes, Middaugh in 1998. That shot put the whole Brier field on notice that Middaugh was unstoppable.
@@smoothpants Same. I think that my fav shot from this year's Brier was the draw that Scott McDonald made vs Quebec in the round robin.
While the outcome was memorable, I'd hardly judge Jennifer Jones's shot as the most difficult or 'greatest'. Maybe Jacob's, Martin's or Gushue's ?
2022 olympic check-in 😎
Incredible...
Sandra has to be #1 ... Love Jones but Sandra HAS to be #1
Interesting, no Mark Nichol's run back at the 06 Olympics?
