I'm more impressed by their ability to avoid those puck when they were wiping the floor......
you aren’t alone. haha It gives me an anxiety whenever they got close to those stones
How they avoid them with both legs and broom is just staggering.
I wonder how many times the sweepers eat ice before they get really steady on their feet while sliding that fast. Gotta avoid hitting the rocks too or you'll get penalized, or something.
What do they call it when they get a foot in between the stones in motion? Can it break bones?
@@mikemorr100 can't hit a travelling rock. If you do, it "burnt" and is taken out of play immediately before it can hit anything. If you slip and hit a stationary rock, one player from each team must agree where to put the rock back. You try to put it back exactly where it was when it was hit.
When you're learning to sweep, you are mainly sweeping much slower rocks. These are very fast "take out" shots and they are hard to sweep even for someone who is experienced.
wtf why i am watching this
I'm asking the same question.
Cuz it's fun
Probably coz you high
Me too
Exactly....
The best part of it is the way they slide in the beginning, its so satisfying
Them wiping the ice with all of their strength and willpower gives me anxiety
Just remember Wax on Wax off. You too! can become a Jedi Master.
Shidbotshidbotshidbot
You got problems then if you get anxiety from that
Wow they must have the cleanest ice on earth after those games
Wow, I don’t know this sport yet I marvel at the skill on display.
I love to watch people that master a skill, no matter the task.
Men play curling is like me knitting. Don't do it.
Im told its a lot better if you have OCD and watch it on adderall.
yep yep woah woaah yep yep WOAH WOAH *WOOOOOOAH*
I'm at 5% volume and those screams still wake up my wife...
🤣😂😅
I always enjoy it when it’s just one person scrubbing away and the other is just casually sliding along side.
Took me 23 years to understand this game
Well, I am starting my first year of understanding now.
@@Puleczech for me it is the day 1
Day 1 for me hahaha
day 1ish ....
6 min 37 seconds still thinking
Why we don't see this sport on media? It is amazing
media is for the masses.. masses are dumb.. kicking a ball and running after it.. slamming a ball with wood stick and running after it..
@@SandBox86 Dude if you go there then this is just a rock on ice and a bunch of janitors doing their daily job!
Best part of the Winter Olympic Games every four years.
It is only for the janitor elite
@@SandBox86 lmao then how wiping ice to slide an oversized puck is any different, weak logic man
For those who really don't understand the sport here are the basic rules.
1) Each team gets 8 rocks, 2 per person.
2)Your goal is to get as many of your rocks near the center till you reach an opponent's rock. If its red, red, yellow, red from the center, once all rocks have been thrown, red scores 2.
3)Only rocks in the circle score.
4)Rocks that hit the side, fail to cross the line that counts as in play or cross the farthest line are out.
5) Sweeping changes the smoothness of the ice allowing them to change the speed and spin of the rock. All the yelling is about trying to adjust the speed and spin to get the position/hit you want.
So what you are saying is that the game is basically too boring to watch ?
@@Simon-xi8tb Incorrect, watch Rachel Homan.
@@nierlindin1006 ice does not melt under her...
thanks dude for the explanation
Oh a recommended video about Curling
Yeah i'll have some of that, thanks
Need This type of Smoothness in Life
I am 27 year old sports freak and I am getting to know about this in 2021!! Until 2 minutes in to the video I was mocking the sport but by the end of these 6 minutes I can totally imagine the amount of practice it would need to execute it with such finesse!
damn this sports have lots of pretty players..
that was the best video i have ever watched
Afterr watching this sport for 2 hrs continuously. I could proudly say I didn't understand the game at all
Two teams of four alternate throwing 8 rocks each. Closest rock to center after all 16 rocks are thrown gets a point. You get one point per rock that is closer than the opponents closest rock. Throw all rocks back and forth 8 or 10 times (ends). The team with the most points after 8 or 10 ends wins. Sweeping straightens out a rocks trajectory, but makes it travel further.
@@Willard217 thank for the explanation
@@Willard217 but isn't the one who gets the last chance to throw the puck is at advantage as he can just aim and push others pucks away?
@@sashascorpse2670 yes, that advantage is called the last rock or "hammer". There is a coin toss at the start of the game to determine who gets hammer for the first end. After that, the team who scores points in the end does not get hammer in the next end. That way the advantage goes to the team who did not score in the previous end.
@@Willard217 makes sense, Thanks :)
3:20am and I’m watching curling highlights, I’ve never even heard of this sport before...
@Ajay Singh try playing it. It's much harder than it looks. Both skill and physical effort.
@Ajay Singh easy to say sitting behind a screen
I've never seen this sport until today.....Looks amazing very complex and slight movement and commends. All of that and still graceful with yelling at the top of your lungs what else could you ask for?
I like that yelling at the stone makes it go faster.
All great shots. I still really like Jamie Sinclair's quad!
I have been watching curling videos for over an hour even though I have never watched it before thanks a lot RUclips
Its 3AM, I live in a tropical country....why am I watching this?
No, you don't live in a tropical country🤷🏾♂️✴️

I don't Know what Sport is It But I Loved Watching It
Absolutely fantabulous to watch. I have no idea about the sport, how it works, its history, or how to score it. I'd just fall on my face trying to do it.
I believe there’s four players throwing two stones on each team.
Each team has 8 stones with eight or ten ends.
Each team gets a hammer, like tennis, first to serve.
Sometimes a team blanks an end if they know they’ll only score one point.
But other times that team or the Team with the hammer is forced to take one point
because of the position of the stones in the house or even in front of the house.
Or they are just running out of ends.
Other times the opposing team Switzerland, let’s say, steals a point or even more.
If the other team Switzerland steals. The hammer remains with Russia, let’s say.
It doesn’t matter who has the hammer.
It’s the team that scores the most point at the end of the match wins.
It’s possible for one team to have the hammer for all the ends and never score.
Because the other team keeps stealing points.
Back to what I was saying earlier so when both teams are out of stones, for that end,
The stone or stones of the same colour closest to the centre of the house, scores.
That’s how points are scored. The stone that’s closest to the centre of the house.
When they throw stones in front of the house it’s either to guard their stones closest at the centre of the house etc or
They are blocking the opposing team from scoring too much points.
Sweeping the rock basically decreases the friction and
makes the rock go straight rather than curl, because it’s on ice.
I hope you now understand.
its true, throwing the rock requires a bit of balance. noobies usually topple over their first few tries :)
Watching a game that you don't understand, but somehow keeps you watching it.
It took me 21 years to know that this sport existed.
2:53 the way he slides lol
I don’t know why I’m watching this but it is addictive
You watch because it is SKILL, not athleticism. It takes practice and skill, NOT natural talent.
When I was in my middle teens, the Bud Somerville rink from Superior, Wisconsin won the World Championship. Superior, Wisconsin (at the time) was a town of about 35,000 people. Cool.
When they release, the pose reminds me of Harry Potter flying.
this is nice game
Very good!!! My two favourite curlers book end list! Val Sweeting so cute! "Yah! We made one!!" 😂
Then Jones at top of list of course!! Love those ladies!!! 🚨💯🌹🇨🇦❤️❤️

Nice shots. One of things that got to do at basic level to get that "but why?" answer. After that can really enjoy great shots and thoughts for stones placement etc. =))
