    One of the thing I want to test is actual amperage draw 1ohm vs 4ohm. 2X M2500's weren't pulling 500amps @4ohm and I bet that RF1500BDCP was under rated and pulling more than 200amps
    I try to explain this to people all the time I don't know how, I'm going to try right here; I'll use DD amps as an example, all things equal, If you compare a DD M2500 @1ohm to a DD M5000 @ 4ohm and set the gains so the output the same power (1,700wrms for example) it is safe to say the M5000 will be drawing 1/2 the amperage, have 2x the damping factor, almost 2x the dynamic range and run significantly cooler than the m2500. BUT the consumers don't want all that they want Watts per Dollar
    I am I big proponent of overhead and having more than you need BUT I'd also do a larger single amp in the same series, 1X M5000 is $600 less than 2X M2500's (MSRP) I always tell people to "run the highest ohm load possible to get the watts you need" just my opinion.......

    MB, appreciate the video. I've run many amp setups and as far as visceral sound, I much prefer to run 1 amp at 90-95% capacity than multiple amps running on a light load. Alot of these amps don't start to shine until 75%.
    I have 4 Gately Relentless 8s in my Raptor. I originally was using an Incriminator Audio 6.1, but now using the 4.1 at .5 ohm and the is much more violent!!!

    I remember I commented back in the day that your sundown x8 v3 needed more watts than the RF1500bdcp and you said it was about efficiency. fast forward a few years later MB said he running 2 DD 2500 on 2 8 inch subs. I was just scratching my head because it contradicted your previous statement, but I'm glad your moving back to efficiency again. keep up the good work on the videos and God bless you.

    Before assuming how much power it's drawing, I'd put a clamp meter on it and find out for sure.
    I would wager your efficiency was better with the pair of M2500. Typically, efficiency of the amp drops as you decrease the ohm load. So 4 ohm is usually more efficiency than 1 ohm. A big amp running higher ohm loads can run easier and cooler than a smaller amp running a low ohm load.
    Anyway, the clamp meter will tell you the actual numbers. 👍

      That doesn’t justify running 5k to power :2 8’s

    • @JasonWW2000
      @JasonWW2000 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@M.B.EnclosuresSure it does. I run a 4k system on a stock electrical system. It works fine because I'm only using an actual 800w to 1,000w at most. I have lots of headroom. Efficiency is great. Amps always run cool and never get stressed.
      It's not efficient as far as cost, but I can afford it. Lol.

    Hey bro, what is your opinion of Memphis mojo and amps

    • @RaYhEnRiX
      @RaYhEnRiX 11 месяцев назад +2

      He will probably tell you that it is a cookie cutter because the Memphis mojo has the same design as several other subwoofers on the market, same basket, etc. not a bad woofer, but not the greatest thing on the market either. They give decent performance, but nothing proprietorial about them
