@@michaelabills can u post a link? There are many docs with that name
Hi everyone, this is Bliss‘ dad. Thank you for the kind comments about our old house.
wholesome as fuck xx
Best part of the house is the shreks👌
Thanks for making bliss man
YES THE HOUSE IS VERY NICE, BUT I WANNA KNOW ABOUT THE POTTED FIG TREE IN THE LIVING ROOM, I DONT SEE ANY GROW LIGHTS AND IT LOOKS SO HEALTHY. ARE THERE BIG WINDOWS NEAR BY THAT I CANT SEE?
Shut up this is so f’ing cute! Lol Hi Bliss’ Dad 👋
MoMa has a fashion design course thats free as well!!
May not be super in depth but it's a start.
Thanks for the rec!!
thank you just enrolled!
What is the video name
Is there a class how to make fashion. Figure
Do they have some online free material? I'm not from the US so...
Who else is very into fashion but not on themselves? I wear target men’s basics everyday, but damned if I’m not enjoying the hell out of all the thoughtful fashions people are wearing out in the world.
A huge part of fashion imo is understanding that loving fashion and loving shopping are two seperate things. Personally, I love fashion 💫💫
@@BlissFoster yep, that’s it. The shopping. And I just watched and enjoyed your video on this very topic.
I love fashion, but I'm too lazy and insecure to dress well.
@@AmandaVieiraMamaesouCult me too. but I'm getting better by slowly incorporating small accessories that give me joy to look at. example, i got a nice lipstick that is long wearing and a classic hue and wearing it to work has made me feel like I've got a signature thing now which is really exciting for me. plus I dress very casually so I feel the addition of an accessory gives the appearance that I do have taste outside of my comfy work clothes. thanks if you've read this long reply and best regards :)
Same here! Although I don’t wear the cool conceptual garments cause I can’t afford them :(
PASSIVE CONSUMPTION is so massively underrated in all kinds of learning and people just don't understand that it is mighty useful since we do register things in our brain; be it conscious or sub-conscious.
That was like really validating, ty for saying that
at first i was like “did he paint the house and get completely new furniture?” and then i realized OH WAIT it’s his parents’ dope ass house
Now that you mention it, I just realized :D I was only looking at the same fiddle leaf tree. They have the same branch
He’s absolutely right about working in a thift store. When you start sorting clothes it gives you a whole new perspective on cloths. (This is from my personal experience)
I think the most important thing is to ask yourself why is this look or outfit is amazing. To learn the tricks that leads to a great style by asking this question every single time. After few years you will be able to make an innovative style. Understanding the artistic clues. It is not enough to just watch shows but to analyze each outfit in the show.
Big true 💫💫
The Clotheshorse podcast. The host, Amanda used to be a fast fashion buyer. Lots of multipart episodes regarding how the industry works; guest speakers from people she knew from working in the industry (marketing, margins, dynamics, etc.). First set of episodes I recommend: how is denim made (cotton, weaving, dye processing, sanding, quality differences bw $500 vs. $50 jeans). Very interesting from someone who learned how to sew recently/started making my own clothes.
Do you still sew
you can also apply this method to learn a lot of topics, or even start a cult :)
Protip: learn about benevolent dictatorship to secure your cult 🥰
Yeah i built my cult that way

that's the best background i've seen in a youtube video bliss
Haha I’m screenshotting all these and sending them to my dad 😄 Thanks man, the house I grew up in is awesome, I love it too
This is the best fashion channel on all of RUclips.
Absolutely! Informative and fun :)
Been watching loads of RUclips’s on fashion and this video is by far the most resourceful. Thank you 🙏🏼
I think learning some basic construction helps too!
I've been taking some basic sewing classes. Well it cost a bit so I didn't get to continue to make more intricate pieces. But I think I learnt so much from the construction and the thought process!
Also, it gives me more freedom and ability to make some clothes just for fun so that I can wear cooler pieces... since cool designer pieces do cost a lot and I'm still schooling..
Some of the historical fashion You Tubers are good for that: Bernadette Banner and Cathy Hay go into historical garment construction and those ladies love their research.
This is an amazing video and I am so glad that I found you on RUclips. I have been feeling uninspired, not motivated and just overwhelmed with my love for fashion. Making money doing what I love is nice but I am not able to do that currently as I am still figuring out what I want to do. And watching this video has inspired me to learn more, do as much as I can in fashion because I love it that much. Informative stuff- Thank you so much Bliss!
Not only are you extremely informative but you have an amazing Internet personality
Just stumbled yesterday on your channel after recently discovering all about avant grade fashion in RUclips (late to this, go figure) and need to say that this is great advice for all kind of learning. As a designer/student of masters in art I can relate to most of your advice. The concept of passive learning is gold in itself.
Thank you for this. I’ve been out of the industry for a few years. I was burnt out, over worked, and exhausted from toxic environments. I want to begin getting back into things, but just for me. This list sounds like a wonderful place to start. Again, thanks for the inspiration.
Even with fashion aside, this channel has so much great advice between the lines on self-learning with any subject. Easy subscribe.
Love how honest this is. Just came across your channel but you bet your ass Im watching everything ❤
This channel as honestly changed my life. I've learnt so much invaluable info on fashion in such a short amount of time. Thanks
You’re so kind 🙃 thank you
Something I do is just go through an article and any name or brand or designer or concept that I don’t recognize I keep in a running list and look up later. Then boom you have a personal fashion encyclopedia.
You remind me of the cool and interesting teacher on the first day of a new internship or degree, you're intimidating, but the good kind of intimidating, inspiring and exciting! I'm not planning on doing anything with fashion but it is still in the back of my mind and I really enjoyed this video. Thanks!! Immediately subscribed :)
I literally graduated last month. completed a 4 year course in FD, and after watching your video - I think I did not learn anything 😩😂. Very wholesome content. I have watched a couple of your videos already, just love your channel. I would like for you to talk about the new take on fashion. You know, what do you think is going to be the new normal.
The backdrop of this video explains so much lol. Thank you, dear Bliss, for inviting us into your home, and sharing your secrets.
Love your energy. I actually watch your videos everyday and you get me hyped in each fckn videos thank you❤️
By the way congrats for 20k King Bliss, you are doing an awesome job❤️
i think there's as much views as people who would want to say thank you after watching this video.
Wow that’s a huge compliment, thank you!
Just wanted to add one for you. Take a day out to a museum with fashion exhibits. I loved the Dior and Mary Quant exhibits at the V&A. You get to see iconic designs up close.
This is a backdrop that curates an aesthetic that I have fallen in love with
UGHHH THANK U FOR BEING U!!! You give out such good advice thank you so much for existing. I hope you have a great day or night sending positive vibes
It’s my first time of watching you and i truly love your channel, ur so enthusiastic and this so funny, I’ve been seek for such kinda bloggers as you for a long time😍
I loved the journaling tip! Great content in this video. Thank you! ❤
The algorithm really is powerful! I’m learning how to draw and I’ve always been into fashion, so you bet I’m using your tips for learning illustration *and* fashion lmao tysm!
Thank you Bliss. Ive always loved fashion but was always made to feel it was frivolous and unimportant. I love music and fashion so much. Thank you for the actionable steps. Its all so practical.
I didn't see it here but incase it wasn't mentioned: "Dressed The History of Fashion" is a fantastic podcast to listen to. There are interviews from both Fashion Historians and people who are in the business and where items came from. If you don't know about it's worth a listen.
Thank you for passing this info out there
Hello Bliss, I have been subscribed to your channel for a little while and have never really gotten around to sitting down and watching. I’m kind of glad that this is the first video I am watching because it is so helpful. Fashion is something that I want as a major part of my life and this video is super helpful in helping me learn more about it
I’m so glad, Crystal! Welcome to the channel 💫💫
I want to learn more about clothes construction and their quality. I’ve always wanted to see how clothes from luxury brands look on the inside or what their fabrics feel like (in order to recognize good quality fabrics) but I’ve never been to their stores because I cannot afford those clothes and I feel out of place there. I don’t want to seem like a lurker. Should I go anyway or do you have other tips for learning about this? I’ve been thinking about going to high-end consignment or vintage shops instead where the “pressure” is a bit off but there are not a lot of them where I live.
It's always good to start off at luxury department stores where you will feel less pressured, get familiar with the environment and you will feel comfy walking in a luxury shop. It's also good to ask staff questions, sometimes they would share more than you ask!
If you have the opportunity definitely check them out. It’s a luxury to even have access to such places. In my undergrad studying fashion I would often make trips to saks and other stores even though they rarely carried designers I enjoy because I wanted to get a feel for luxury despite not being able to afford it usually
Work at the store!!!
I really don’t watch movies anymore I use youtube alot so watching documentaries is actually a really good idea thank you
Absolutely love the video as always, Bliss! Honestly this made me rethink my stance on what "fashion" itself is and from now on I'll stop suggesting my channel as a fashion channel and describe it as more of a personal style and consumer discussion channel so that those looking for legitimate fashion can easier find the real fashion content to educate themselves.
Bliss this is such a good video! Also your energy is so funny
podcasts, writing about labels and looking at the construction of some of my archive pieces works for me!
The best video that the algorithm suggested to me in years. Thank you for this 🖤
The red sofas with the green walls and plants looks so nice
Stumbling on your channel is the best thing I did today. Thank you for those informative videos ❤️
Welcome!! Be sure to check out the Margiela series! We’re going thru look by look to explore everything that Martin put out 😊
This is such a reassuring video man, As a college kid with an undying passion for fashion, it was not easy commit because of how scarce the world is in regard to fashion as a passion, hobby, and business. Knowing that I’ve been thinking about it in the right way was great. My first video I watched from you, I’m definitely here to stay
Welcome in, Chip! Glad you’re here 💫💫
@@BlissFoster Much Love 💪🏽😭
Hi there, thank you so much for this! I really needed it since I'm trying to study in fashion early :)
For real i love this content, i always looking for new information and this really help me
woah , i remember you posting one of your first videos on r/malefashion years ago, great to see how well you’re doing haha
Bliss, thanks for this video! I'm interested in Fashion journalism but grad school isn't ideal for me right now. I needed direction on how to consume more fashion history and knowledge in my life without attending fashion school and your video helped me to do just that. I immediately subscribed and will be checking out the rest of your content. Thanks again!
I’m so glad it was useful for you! I’ve designed this entire channel to be exactly what you just described. My goal is always to provide a high-level of informational value in every single video. Thanks again for the kind words
I’m kinda new to this channel but I’m so glad I found it! I also wanted to add a source for people to learn about fashion and it’s MoMA’s free online classes through coursera and they have a bunch but the one most relevant would be their fashion as design course, and I actually finished it not too long ago and highly recommend. It’s beginner friendly but even if you’re well versed in fashion you’ll find something new in there as well!
Thanks so much for the heads up!!
I just applied, it said it’s in English but 70% of the text is in Chinese. I’m a little lost
this is literally THEE video I needed. new subby, thanks!!
Okay so what I do is: go through the A-Z list of brands at every online boutique that sells designer and everything that really sparks my interest, I'll look into by googling to set up a chain reaction that quite often leads to an obsession with a certain designer and move forward to a new one once I'm satisfied with the deep dive to go onto a new designer and so on and on. I find this also works hahaha.
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing your insights. Just getting more involved in the fashion industry so trying to consume as much info as I can
so glad you have a venue. anyone reading this....this guy is ONE to watch in the future. he will be a big influence. predicted 2021!
This list was soo good thankyou so much!
I've just discovered your channel and it's exactly what i was looking for!
Lots of love from Colombia 💓
Thanks so much, Ana! Check out the Margiela series! Welcome 😄
Just learned a bunch from this in the first 5 minutes and took a bunch of notes! Thanks man!
thank youuu. these are the most useful tips that i've ever seen
I have honestly learnt more about the fashion business since I subscribed to you than what my last 4 years at fashion school taught me.
hey, Bliss, love your work. I have a relatively casual interest in fashion (maybe slightly more than casual as I watch your videos). I found the nugget in your Margiela series about the shoulder and the heel really interesting and would love to hear more from you on silhouettes, construction, materiality- sort of general principles of fashion design that lean more toward the aesthetic rather than metanarrative. ( though I love it all)
Thanks, Matt
Great idea 💫💫
I am overwhelmed by all this lol. I'll start with the fashion documentaries!
Sensei Bliss comin’ tru with da list
You’re doing an amazing job! Every minute was worth watching your video. Can you recommend informative platforms for styling as well?
I’m not even interested in doing fashion as a career but this helped so thanks 😙
I'm not that into fashion but this is an amazingly helpful video for just generally learning more about your passions so thank you so much
When I’m big I’m definitely going to give u more credit 🙏
I love you thank you, I needed this💗

Yes Bliss is very accurate and i didnt apply some of those tips yet so yes i will dive into it
Love the colour scheme of your place, thanks for all the info!
Thanks! My dad’s curated a really cool house 💫💫
I love your first point (i.e. watching fashion shows instead of Netflix), but television and movies can also be great reference points for fashion! Especially, ones that depict a certain era 😌 I’m currently watching Peaky Blinders and the main character’s wardrobe (Tom) is chef’s kisses 💋
And I’m watching Mrs. Maisel! The Main character’s outfits are amazing!!!
This video is everything! Thank you so much
OMG you love King of the Hill too?! 🙌 Very great info here. I'd add that vintage pattern design books are pretty bomb to study.
Yes! I dont know why but fashion has always been one of those things i just didnt know how to go about learning about
thanks bliss im switching from architecture to fashion comms this year so this is helpful
Hellll yea! I’m so excited for you ☄️🏌️
