Hi Julie! Wonderful! Angelina is delightful - I think you'd enjoy it. And that's fantastic our videos are helpful for planning your trip! When will you be in Poland? We may have more videos from there by then :)
Going to Angelina was in my list in our 2020 trip to Paris, but due to Covid we had to cancel our trip. I have been to Paris in 2015 and oddly enough I passed Angelina so many times because our hotel was just around the corner. Hopfully in 2022 I will be in Paris and will go to Angelina.
Sweet old couple on the bench in the park. Nice that they have kept it a secret recipe for so long. Good tip on making a reservation! April is especially intrigued and hopes to try one of the pastries someday
Really enjoyed your video. I have been to Angelina many times. I travel to Paris four times each year except since the pandemic in 2020. 🙁 I agreed with all your pastry recommendations at Angelina except the Mont Blanc. Thanks for posting your reviews!
Thank you! Lucky you to go to Paris four times per year. Sounds dreamy. You must have a lot of favourite places. Are you visiting during the Olympics this year?
It was delicious! The best part was the texture and the fact that it wasn't overly sweet. Felt like the perfect balance. And of course the whole experience makes food taste better or worse.. ;)
Hi from Scotland 🏴 I have had Mont blanc before but never in Cafe Angelina....so when I am again in Paris in June I will try it along with their hot chocolate....even though it will be summertime. Thank you for sharing.
Hello to you in beautiful Scotland! I have Scottish roots on my dad's side 😊 Happy to hear you'll visit Angelina in June - I'm sure everything will taste lovely no matter the weather. Have a wonderful trip!
Hi! What a Gorgeous tea room!! If I ever get to where my happy mindset tells me, I will go! Thanks for sharing! That hot chocolate reminds me of Turkish coffee. It was hard to swallow that mud! 💐💞
Hey Gina! Isn't it beautiful?! The hot chocolate wasn't hard to swallow AT ALL hahah it was so freaking delicious. I loved that the pastry wasn't too sweet either. It was like the Goldilocks of pastry...juuuuuust right ;)
Did you know the Mont-Blanc pastry is actually very popular in Japan and can be bought at every conbini (convenience store)? The topping is made out of sweetened chestnut and the inner part is usually made out of soft meringues. While you are in Paris I would highly recommend visiting the Pére Lachaise cemetery.....a bit of a unusual recommendation, but you will find an ocean of quit in the middle of the city and there are loads of very beautiful grave monument and statues. Thank you for this awesome video!
I actually only just heard that from someone else after seeing our video who said she first tried a Mont-Blanc in Japan! Despite spending A LOT of quality time in convenience stores there (sadly, pre-RUclips) I don't remember seeing them there. But next time I'm definitely going to look for them specifically. I don't think visiting cemeteries is strange at all. They're very peaceful and we visit them often when travelling. Always learn a lot and interesting to see the history too, of course. Thanks for the suggestion!
That whole place of Angelina is all about decadence. From the one pastry to the decor inside & everything else, it looks like a 5-star place. That would be So much fun to see & just spend a little bit of time in there, taking in the artwork everywhere & all. That would be just amazing. The liquid chocolate looks like it would equally be a "Must-Try" type of thing while there in that restaurant & even Paris in general.
I love this brilliantly decadent deliciously chocolate episode :) A new Paris spot on our bucket list, and you two look so happy and healthy together. My Kim is dreaming about that hot chocolate cocoa :) Thanks for this Foodies share, James and Kim
One of the main ingredient for the mont blanc is Chestnut :) I was there few wks ago and enjoyed it very much. Angelina always have a long line of customers without reservation. I waited 30 mins before I got seated but well worth the wait.
The paste looks like chestnut cream - from the texture and color. (Just checked their website and that’s indeed what it is) - I’ll have to give it a try next time I’m in a Paris!
looks like the mont blanc cake - they do it in Italy as well - top should be marron glace , chestnuts - it is actually delicious, one of the best cake ever
Well a definite address to keep in mind the next time I am in Paris. Maybe chestnut the secret taste lol? I love that kind of hot chocolate. Great tip to reserve.
That sounds like a score with the Airbnb host. He should def know where the good stuff is! It looks really good. That hot chocolate looked really rich, but looks like it was really good. I will def keep this in mind for whenever I get back to Paris. How was the pricing?
Thanks a lot! We always do subtitles and try to do as many translations as possible for more people to enjoy :) We transcribe every video ourselves by hand and then use Google Translate. Takes a lot of time but worth it, we hope!
WOW!!! What an awesome place and I want some hot chocolate right NOW:) We go to New Orleans often which has a big French influence, I can't wait to see more!! Great description of the pastry, not overly sweet, my kind of sweets!! And I live me some "Coco" 😁
Who doesn't love some Coco? ;) haha I agree, I can't watch the part pouring the hot chocolate without my brain instantly signalling that it wants more of that. YUM.
Omgggg don't. Currently sitting at home with an empty pantry and fridge - watching this video is a bad idea. That hot chocolate looks ahhh-mazing! But, I think I'd be done after 3 sips. It looks so heavy!
Rumpelmayer’s also existed in New York. The hot chocolate was decadent. But, sadly it doesn’t exist anymore. I used to go as a kid. There was also Lindy’s for potato pancakes and cheesecake. What an institution! Also, sorry no more :( New York in the 50’s!!! Moskowitz and Lupowitz, no more. But Sammy’s Romanian off Houston, still exists!
What/where is the best pastry YOU can remember? 🍰🥐
@Stardigrade P ooh good to know! Great name.
New Orleans, there is a croissant bakery specializing in almond croissants, looks very "French".
Yum! New Orleans looks like it has some amazing food. If/when we go (Marc's been once before we met) we'll have to get some more tips from you guys :)
@@EileenAldis Awww!! Absolutely, it would be a joy!!
OMG...I had the same pastry at the Angelina cafe at Versailles....brought back wonderful memories to see it in your video again!! ❤️
the elderly couple at 0:31 😍😭 aren't they the sweetest sight? *well apart from the gorgeous looking pastries
SO sweet! They were so snuggly and cute 😭
Thanks for another great video, will add "Angelina" to my wish list!!! Getting prepared for a trip to Poland and your videos are a great help!!!

It'd be enough reason for me too haha! This whole experience was really fun...and delicious, of course! :)
Wow that Mont-Blanc looks really tasty! Texture looks very interesting too

Wow, How neat for your experience when in Paris for you & Marc.
It was, Kevin! This was a really nice treat out for us :)
So yummy....wish I was in that line up....No wonder you call it Best Pastry ever!!
Haha we were glad to have a reservation so we could skip the line 😉

Hi! Chestnut cakes/pastries are popular in East Asian countries too! Hope you can try some time!
Hi! Yum YES :)
At one time I found drinking chocolate like that at cost plus:world market. Will have to try that place next time in Paris.
Really? Like the Angelina brand?! That's so cool! Maybe you'll see it again. I'd love to hear how that tastes :)

Just curious...you're wearing long sleeves and jackets in July. Is it cool weather? Rainy?

The spagetti looking top of the pastry eaten at the start of the segment is made of chestnut puree....
