    Thanks for checking out our product, Luca. Glad you enjoyed the fragrance, and yep, we're all in on the shine!

    The comparison regarding amount is rather skewed in my opinion. Yes, that particular tub of Black & White is only 50 ml while Blumaan's Fifth Sample comes in a 3.7 oz jar. But there's also a bigger tub of Black & White that gives you 7 oz for a price that's still cheaper than the Blumaan. Also petrolatum that's used in hair products is perfectly safe for daily use. I think that you need to research your facts properly before giving your opinions on impressionable viewers. That aside, I think both products are great for what they are. They're both slightly different when you dive into the details despite being branded as pomades, but whether or not one's better than the other really boils down to each person's preference

    • @LucaSantangeloUK
      @LucaSantangeloUK  7 лет назад +8

      Heavy Metal Pomp Thanks for watching. Firstly, I didn't say nor was I suggesting that petroleum isn't safe for daily use. I was simply recommending that is isn't to be used daily. Petroleum is an occlusive agent which prevents the bodies natural respiratory system wherever it's applied to, ie; skin, hair respiration. Provided you are washing your hair with a deep cleansing shampoo to remove the oil based pomade, you'll be stripping your hair of these excess oils as well as your natural oils which are essential for maintaining healthy hair. As you can imagine; if this process is repeated every single day, your hair has no chance to regain any of it's natural and essential moisture which can lead to weak, dry and frizzy hair.
      Secondly, yes I only feature the 50/100ml packaging in this video but the price is still significantly below blumaans so displaying the 7oz jar is potentially a little bit overkill imo. In other words; viewers can already take an educated guess that you're able to get far more product with black and white than BluMaan if you were to spend the same amount of money. I purchased this at a local drugstore while it was on sale for aprox $2 hence the title of this video and the reason I display the 50ml jar.

      Appreciate the reply there. Yes, there's a myth that petrolatum is known to clog pores. But the petrolatum used in most beauty products are usually of cosmetic grade and are non-comedogenic. Long story short, it does not clog up your pores. And yes, constantly washing your hair out with a harsh shampoo will remove the natural oils in your hair which in the long run, will wreck your hair into a dry mess. But that is a by product of you trying to wash it out too much, not the styling product itself. You can easily use a normal everyday shampoo, wash every other day and your hair will be perfectly fine. Yes, this will result in having buildup from the pomade but because petrolatum isn't harming your hair to begin with, there's no issue with that at all. As a matter of fact, tonnes of homebrewed oil based pomades contain ingredients such as coconut oil, grapeseed oil, avocado oil and so on which in turn help to hydrate and nourish the hair.

    • @jerisjeris5965
      @jerisjeris5965 7 лет назад +4

      Heavy Metal Pomp The only case with oil based pomades that are worrying when not washing them out is most likely the acne breakouts it can trigger. I'm a big fan of oil baseds, but that's a serious drawback imo.

    • @ToxelThrash

      Jeris Jeris Yup. The greasy pillows and sheets are an issue with oil based products

    They're not compareible they are completely different Black and white has been around for ages like 90 years i believe so was made for the needs of the time you know pompadours and old hairstyles but the blumaan pomade is a modern product so it tends to modern needs.

      thank you Diego. The purpose of these videos is to reveal whether investing into more expensive products is worth it or not. The last $2 vs $20 video featured texture powders and it revealed that the $2 was the better option so it can sway either way at times!!

    I love Black & White. I randomly came across this. I think the reviewers hair looked better with the B & W, but hair products are very personal. Very. These very fixed retro 40s dos require v different styling then those of us with more natural flowing, or textured, styles. For me, as I fall in the latter, the stiff, matte, nasty "men's" stuff out there makes a mess of my hair. B & W does not. It requires skill for sure, as does any old school pomade, but once you have it, it can save you. It has repaired seemingly disastrous hair days for me. I love it and it smells amazing!

    You have great hair along with the style! I'm currently having a bit of a crisis with my hair. It's in the growing faze so the hair doesn't really go back as smooth as yours. But there's another problem, I've got a come over on one side which means that both sides aren't level. Can I ask what haircut you have? Is it level on both sides? Keep up the great work!

    Have you tried anything by Nostalgic Handmade, Lockhart's or Shear Revival? I think one of those companies helped formulate the Blumann product. Also there are some really interesting clays that have come out recently too: Cellar Door, Dismantling Summer, and the Tazmaneian Tame Black Hills Clay are all pretty unique.

  • @ryanbales8116
    @ryanbales8116 7 лет назад +1

    Yeah, I'm not really seeing the comparison here. Blumaaan and Black and White are completely different products who serve people with completely different looks and hairstyles. Both are good in their own right, but I think a better comparison would have been Blumaan and some $2 hair wax/clay/paste from the drugstore. Or Black and White and some super expensive oil based pomade.

    Posers are people who want a classic look yet hate the shine of classic pomades when they use them. In the mid to early 20th century high shine from hair-styling products was very popular.

    Hey Luca, the Styling Mask Pomade is one of the best pomades I have tried despite of myself not being a pomade user. The Blumaan Fifth Sample Pomade is very versatile in what it can do. I also like it so much better than Modify Pomade from Hanz de Fuko. Just because Modify Pomade has too much shine and meanwhile the Blumaan Pomade has more a natural shine.

    • @LucaSantangeloUK
      @LucaSantangeloUK  7 лет назад

      agreed, brian!! I love using fifth sample pomade as a finisher to get that healthy shine which is something i haven't really been able to do with other pomades in the past

    • @gianlucakasai7249
      @gianlucakasai7249 7 лет назад +2

    If you want to use an oil-based pomade which has a medium shine then you should try out Sportin' Waves Maximum Hold Pomade. Fuck Murray's Superior Hairdressing Pomade, because that pomade hurts when applying to hair.

    I'm just gonna say it, modern "pomades" are not pomade, most of them have the name pomade on it because that sells. black&white has everything a pomade should have, being greasy, high shine, for the most part made out of oils and waxes and of course it's not easy to get out of your hair
