I am going to buy a GoPro. I thought the app was to edit the videos but sounds like you need to set up how you want to film. Can you film then edit the video later? Like can you film something then edit to be in slow or time lapse motion?

Some things have changed regarding settings buttons and such, but your tutorial was comprehensive enough for me to extrapolate what you were doing with the updated app. I was initially turned off with the app since it was shilling for money via subscrptions and in-app purchases. Hello - I am have paired my GoPro to the Quik app, but when I click Control my GroPro or View Media, it is getting stuck on connect to your camera's WI-FI. I am not sure why because my phone is connected to my GoPro. Any ideas?
CAN I do this with a windows 10 laptop as well? OK to make it simple could i use it as a back up camera , NOT on phone but using a laptop. Clearly seems like tablets and phones do, but i want to buy a laptop while i am driving and be able to see what the camera sees, doesn't need to record just need to see blind spot. (wirelessly)
Good looking out my man, very helpful. Just picked up the Black Hero8. Very excited about getting better acquainted with it. Really need to up my tech savy and do better maintaining my phone. Why does the Quik app call the edit Trim when it's more accurately a Keep. You select what you Keep, not what you Trim off. I've watched several YT videos now on this topic and they all gloss over the Trim function. Are there any shortcuts to select to the end of the clip? I had a 18 min clip (I know, too long) and scrolled and scrolled and scrolled to get to the end. No jump to end? It's not obvious. Is there a way to Save over the original vs Save new clip?

Just got the 10 last night. It will only connect using wi fi, not my cell signal. And it sees about 20 of my Facebook Pages, but not the one I want to go LIVE to. Why is that ?
Not sure tbh. I haven't used the 10 so not sure if there are any issues with the Live feature etc? Sometimes new models take a while to get rid of teething issues

Do I need to be connected to wifi in order to control my GoPro through the app?!? I find that useless since the main use of the GoPro is to record outdoors...and there is no wifi when I'm recording outdoors.

Thanks for the vid. I record band rehearsals, I do a song at a time so 3-4 minutes long. When I try to share with rest of band it’s always file too large. That’s email, text, messenger, signal etc. I don’t really want them public as it’s just to review and improve. I reduced to 720. But need your help. Thank you.

video is great, just one piece of advice. when going through the gopro functions, not everyone may know the “functions lingo”. maybe explaining for example what “gps” does when it’s on and off or what “ntsc” and “pal” means and which part of the world it refers to. and don’t take this the wrong way just giving out my opinion :)
I've just bought a GOPRO Hero 11 with the intention of using the Quick Desktop. I have now discovered that the desktop version of Quick is no longer "Under Development" ?? After a bit of research online it would appear that this App has not worked for a considerable length of time or if ever at all. GOPRO will still happily sell you a new HERO 11 though but without making the buyer fully aware of this situation. I'm now stuck with an excellent camera but without a way to edit my footage. It's a bit like buying a new car but then being told the engine management software doesn't work! This is really poor customer service especially when I'm paying a subscription for something that I cannot use.
The desktop version hasn’t worked for a while. It depends on what sort of videos you want to edit. The Quik app is only good for short 1 minute edits anyway, there is plenty of other editing software out there, some free, Videoproc Vlogger is a good one 👍🏻

You don’t have to use the app to film. You can set everything in the GoPro itself, this is just another tool 👍🏻

I don’t think there is a quick way to jump to the end of the clip. Have you tried pinching and resizing the timeline?

My GoPro is on and says Wi-Fi RC & GoPro App enabled but the app still won't connect to it
Try connecting the GoPro to the app instead of the other way round 👍🏻

video is great, just one piece of advice. when going through the gopro functions, not everyone may know the “functions lingo”. maybe explaining for example what “gps” does when it’s on and off or what “ntsc” and “pal” means and which part of the world it refers to. and don’t take this the wrong way just giving out my opinion :)

Does anyone know of the glitch where if a video goes within like 30 seconds of your 12 minute clip you just can’t save that footage to the app
I've just bought a GOPRO Hero 11 with the intention of using the Quick Desktop. I have now discovered that the desktop version of Quick is no longer "Under Development" ?? After a bit of research online it would appear that this App has not worked for a considerable length of time or if ever at all. GOPRO will still happily sell you a new HERO 11 though but without making the buyer fully aware of this situation. I'm now stuck with an excellent camera but without a way to edit my footage. It's a bit like buying a new car but then being told the engine management software doesn't work! This is really poor customer service especially when I'm paying a subscription for something that I cannot use.
The desktop version hasn’t worked for a while. It depends on what sort of videos you want to edit. The Quik app is only good for short 1 minute edits anyway, there is plenty of other editing software out there, some free, Videoproc Vlogger is a good one 👍🏻
