Some things have changed regarding settings buttons and such, but your tutorial was comprehensive enough for me to extrapolate what you were doing with the updated app. I was initially turned off with the app since it was shilling for money via subscrptions and in-app purchases. Thank you for this video and your good intentions. It’s a very good beginning. But I think if you explained what each menu choice means - with more detail - it would have been more useful. Some here have NEVER even picked up a Gopro.

video is great, just one piece of advice. when going through the gopro functions, not everyone may know the “functions lingo”. maybe explaining for example what “gps” does when it’s on and off or what “ntsc” and “pal” means and which part of the world it refers to. and don’t take this the wrong way just giving out my opinion :)
Hello - I am have paired my GoPro to the Quik app, but when I click Control my GroPro or View Media, it is getting stuck on connect to your camera's WI-FI. I am not sure why because my phone is connected to my GoPro. Any ideas?

Why does the Quik app call the edit Trim when it's more accurately a Keep. You select what you Keep, not what you Trim off. I've watched several YT videos now on this topic and they all gloss over the Trim function. Are there any shortcuts to select to the end of the clip? I had a 18 min clip (I know, too long) and scrolled and scrolled and scrolled to get to the end. No jump to end? It's not obvious. Is there a way to Save over the original vs Save new clip?
I've just bought a GOPRO Hero 11 with the intention of using the Quick Desktop. I have now discovered that the desktop version of Quick is no longer "Under Development" ?? After a bit of research online it would appear that this App has not worked for a considerable length of time or if ever at all. GOPRO will still happily sell you a new HERO 11 though but without making the buyer fully aware of this situation. I'm now stuck with an excellent camera but without a way to edit my footage. It's a bit like buying a new car but then being told the engine management software doesn't work! This is really poor customer service especially when I'm paying a subscription for something that I cannot use.
The desktop version hasn’t worked for a while. It depends on what sort of videos you want to edit. The Quik app is only good for short 1 minute edits anyway, there is plenty of other editing software out there, some free, Videoproc Vlogger is a good one 👍🏻
CAN I do this with a windows 10 laptop as well? OK to make it simple could i use it as a back up camera , NOT on phone but using a laptop. Clearly seems like tablets and phones do, but i want to buy a laptop while i am driving and be able to see what the camera sees, doesn't need to record just need to see blind spot. (wirelessly)
Hi do you know if you can preview on your smartphone while recording with gopro 8?. Because this feature is not available anymore on the gp 9 and 10. To preview on my phone while recording is a important feature to me.
Just got the 10 last night. It will only connect using wi fi, not my cell signal. And it sees about 20 of my Facebook Pages, but not the one I want to go LIVE to. Why is that ?
Not sure tbh. I haven't used the 10 so not sure if there are any issues with the Live feature etc? Sometimes new models take a while to get rid of teething issues

... The Quik app says, "This app is not available for your device." I have an android phone. Samsung 7 by Verizon. Why will it not allow me to down load it. Also, trying to find, Quik, through the Google Play App Store, Quik does not even show up. Thanks for the video. For the most part, I found it helpful. However, I'm a beginner and have an older Session 5. Some of the settings were camera specific, I suspect. Also, sometimes, I couldn't follow you when you started pushing buttons. But, overall, the video was very helpful. It's good to know that I don't need to subscribe to something to use and edit my videos.

I don’t think there is a quick way to jump to the end of the clip. Have you tried pinching and resizing the timeline?

You don’t have to use the app to film. You can set everything in the GoPro itself, this is just another tool 👍🏻

Thanks for the video. For the most part, I found it helpful. However, I'm a beginner and have an older Session 5. Some of the settings were camera specific, I suspect. Also, sometimes, I couldn't follow you when you started pushing buttons. But, overall, the video was very helpful. It's good to know that I don't need to subscribe to something to use and edit my videos.

Can you not? I haven't tried to use images tbh, are you trying to use just images or a mixture of stills and video?
Just subscribed! At around 13:23 you said I can save a video to GoPro and share it wherever I want, can I just save it in my gallery where all my photos and videos are?
