York University Subway Station Grand Opening - Dec. 17, 2017

History was made this morning when Toronto's biggest subway extension project in 40 years opened its doors to passengers at 8:00 am, Sunday, December 17, 2017. As you will see, I was the first student/teacher from York University to use our new subway. And as of 2:45 pm, I am the first journalist to have uploaded a video of this historic day.

Not gonna lie, it's a pain in the ass that York University is forcing students to use the Subway in 2019 and cancel GoBus services for people on campus commuting from Markham, Scarborough, Mississauga, Brampton, etc. I mean I do think it's a good idea for people commuting from Toronto but other G.T.A residents, I'm not a fan of. It's the whole getting off at the 407 subway station, waiting for the GoBus there and then going home. Rather than a quick 30-40 minute trip by the GoBus from York U to Square One. But whatever, it could be worse, as a York student, I'll have to use it. I do admit though it would save time in the morning between 6:30am-9am and around 4:30pm-7pm.
