@samibouhadida5314 Yes, I got it. I can 100% recommend it if it's at/around the £600 mark 👌 I mainly use it for my ps5 and Netflix. It is an amazing TV. The only thing I'm not that fond of is the TV remote. It does feel quite light/cheap. It doesn't affect the tv, obviously. It's just the way it feels in the hand. All in all, it's a 10/10 TV for me. Can recommend 👍
How does local dimming affect input lag? Like for best possible blacks. HDTVtest didn't see a difference with c735 how is it with c745? Can I put it on best local dimming setting?
Excellent tutorial. I had the exact tv's but unfortunately the white is not very white which is suck. There is an HDR mode setting under expert calibration. does anybody know nobody what it does? With this setting and enabled picture in HDR is quite dark with the setting disabled the picture is very very bright. You only get it with HDR10 or HLG with Dolby Vision it disappears.
Hi! Yes, it is applicable, though on your model you will probably have Local Dimming option in the Brightness menu. Use it to enable local dimming as Local Contrast doesn't work on mini LED TVs (based on my C805 testing).

Hi Darko, Great helpful review as usual, thanks a lot !!!! I'm thinking purchasing a 55C745 model these days. However, I have a fear on 2 particular points: 1- I watch some SD german channels through my exetrnal sat receiver, is SDR upscaling good in this TV or will I probably get a pixellized picture with these channels ? Same question for FHD content as my Sat receiver isn't 4K at all and I don't use internet (Netflix, etc.) 2- Is shadow detail good enough in movies' dark/night scenes ? --> Advertized 1000 nits should do a good job, but as we know this is theory... The SD channels aren't the best quality. The upscaling is the same as most TVs in the price range. It's watchable but does have pixilation. Shadows and blacks are on point though 👌
@@geoffsayshello318 Thanks for your response ! However, is upscaling at least fine with FHD content or are there some pixels or artifacts too ? Best regards.
@samibouhadida5314 Yes, upscaling is fine on HD,FHD etc it's just the standard definition it struggles with. But to be fair, most TVs in this price range have the same issues with SD upscaling.
Hi - thanks for watching and for your comment! You already got comments to your post and I agree with them - I'm currently testing Samsung's flagship OLED TV for 2024 with latest generation of AI picture processor and this TV also doesn't make SD content to look better than other TVs. Still it upscales and sharpens everything, from the actual content to the compression artifacts and noise, so really that's the status of today's tech. On C745 you will have plenty of picture controls which you can tweak to get fine SD image without obvious flaws. Shadows details are also good, but as this TV uses VA panel and is sensitive to viewing angle, sit in front of it for optimum contrast and color saturation.
Thank you for this! Got two questions please 1. Do you also get an annoying popup about energy efficiency every time you change the settings? 2. I don't see the gamma and many of the other settings you mentioned in the video (running latest software) any suggestions?
@@TVguyDarko How noticeable is the ghosting? Based on your experience with many VA panel-type tvs over the years would you say its better or worse than average?

For me this issue was only with playing youtube on my xbox, i read on reddit u have to turn the resolution down to 1080p 60hz thru xbox to fix. I switched to youtube quickly on my tv and it didnt do the stuttering thing. I also watched a video saying if you check your picture mode settings while watching dolby vision content, to make sure to turn motion clarity off, like thru netflix (not sure if youtube supports dolby vision)
I have the TCL 55C745K. When playing Dolby Vision via USB on a external HD i get purple and green screen. Is this down to the DV settings or is it another problem.
Hi - this is happening to me as well, seems to depend on the DV Profile of the content. Some plays fine, some have incorrect colors. professionalsupport.dolby.com/s/article/What-is-Dolby-Vision-Profile?language=en_US
9:36 the only setting that i need to adjust, and why I've watched many videos is HDR mode to be fully turned off. You have the option to turn it off when you go to expert calibration but I don't have that setting. Did you change anything in the secret menu by chance? Would love to get your help with this.
Bok Darko, odlican video, svaka ti cast.
i just acquired the 43" 2024 QLED model. I will be switching a lot between live tv (via antenna) and Internet content. You might mention in your videos how these setting may differ when viewing live tv. Thanks!
Hi Scott, thanks for your comment. Good point to mention that. Basically, the first time you switch to the particular input you should select the picture mode you've adjusted and it will stay selected next time you switch to that input. For that it is important that once you do initial tweak of this picture mode (e.g. Filmmaker mode), you need to select the option to apply it to all other inputs. That way once you switch to the Filmmaker mode on another input, the adjustments will be the same. Same goes for SDR and HDR content.
Thanks, but due to copyrights and the fact that I would need to record the content to play it back on calibrated and default state, I use other material to evaluate.
I got a question like i've seen an option " natural cinema " in the motion settings but why this tv and c805 doesn't have it? I hope you see this one🙏🏻
Hi - what do you mean? Dolby Vision will activate automatically in built-in streaming apps that support it - the only way to avoid this is to use the app from external device which either doesn't support DV or on which you could disable it. But DV can be nicely adjusted, in the same way as for HDR10 and SDR signals. In my tests DV looks the best, in terms of dynamic range.
Thanks! Screen is semi glossy so you can see reflections, especially if you have a light source behind the screen. Competitor models in this price segment are similar in this regard. Take a look at C805 which is even brighter so it can combat reflections more efficiently.
Thanks a lot I have same tv and best settings love the tv amazing value for price, one question when I play miles Morales in fidelity and vrr 120 on if I record my tv on camera with 60fps it shows flicker but with my eyes on tv it looks fine, is it safe to play or will it hurt my eyes? but I can only see on video through phone not myself
It is because of refresh rate difference plus your room lighting could be at different frequency. Only if you use black frame insertion that could cause issues long term.
How to use 4K@120hz with old games on PS5? Some of games are still 30fps with Quality or Fidelity. I used VRR 144hz in TCL C745. I fixed motion refresh just like yours.
First of all, you need to see what games support 120hz, and there are very few of them. Do you think that if you have a TV with 120hz you will be able to play games? come on. 144hz is set to connect a computer, not a console.
Dolby vision menu only appears when your PS5 or XBOX Dolby Vision is enabled within the console settings, also the game you're playing with has to support Dolby Vision otherwise the menu doesn't appear and you also have to be playing the game, but if you quit the game and go back to the console menus, Dolby vision disappears.
@@TVguyDarko Yeah, Dolby Vision IQ picture mode appears when I use a supported device such as my Amazon Firestick. But when playing Xbox Series X, I can turn on game mode for Dolby Vision Gaming. However, when Game Mode is off it returns to Dolby IQ picture mode. Furthermore if I turn off Dolby Vision within the Xbox Menu settings, I receive HDR mode. It's confusing, but that's how it works on the c805.
Yes for HDR content. Of course, if you find the image too bright, for example while watching it in dark room, then you can reduce Brightness to the lower level or activate light sensor. How to enable Light sensor is explained here: ruclips.net/user/shortsQfDY39GHJDM
Moja iskustva s TCL-om su pozitivna i njihove televizore koristim više godina i u cjelini rade stabilno i zadovoljan sam odnosno dobiveno-uloženo.

Very good and structured review, thank you for the effort! I have one short question about the TV though: How is the image stability in regard to the viewing angles? I know it is a VA panel, so it shouldn't be the best in class, but still, I read TCL was working on improving in that area. Including this Info and maybe a short clip walking around the TV from left to right or vice versa would be hightly useful and appreciated from the perspective of the potential buyer! Hello. I just got this TV and it seems the menu differs a bit. I guess some updates occurred in the meantime. You said Local Dimming is covered by Local Contrast setting. However now I see both options Local Dimming, Local Contrast and Dynamic Contrast has also been introduced. To me explanations of all 3 settings sound the same. Would you care to explain what are the differences or at least how is best to set them? At the moment I have the first two on High the the third one disabled. Thank you

Don't max contrast and brightness. I use brightness at 90, contrast 50, see what suits you. Any dynamic thing off! Color, tint, color temp default (mid). Sharpness 0, digital noise off. Motion clarity is up to you.

Hi - it is still great. There was a software update that added AutoCal support via Calman software. I’ll make a video about it.
Hi - no, I haven't changed anything in the settings, the setting is here on both C745 and C805 retail models that I've tested.
How come you have a lot more settings then I do? I just bought a TCL 745
Which software version do you have?
I can't find IMAX mode or Dolby Vision, in picture settings
It will automatically appear once you play IMAX or DV content
Bok Darko, odlican video, svaka ti cast.
what you think about TCL 32S5400AF?
Haven't tested it, but it seems like a good option if you want a small screen with Android TV interface.
teşekkürler darko, mutlu yıllar 👍
Thanks for watching, but it is not my birthday :)
Ayarları yapabildin mi ?
Will this work on c755
Probably - I will get C755 in coming months to verify.
@@TVguyDarko
Thank you so much
maybe you have best pictures settings for football?😊
Hi - same tips apply, except for football and sports in general you will probably increase Backlight and maybe Gamma to get brighter image.
i just acquired the 43" 2024 QLED model.
@@TVguyDarkoHello, this settings work also with 55C805 mini led 2023?
Can this be use for C805 also? I would like to purchase the pdf with settings.
Yes, I’ll prepare it.
@@TVguyDarko Nice, thank you for the fast response Darko.
Are C775 and C805 the same TV?@@TVguyDarko
Thanks, but due to copyrights and the fact that I would need to record the content to play it back on calibrated and default state, I use other material to evaluate.
I got a question like i've seen an option " natural cinema " in the motion settings but why this tv and c805 doesn't have it? I hope you see this one🙏🏻
Interesting, on which model have you seen it?
@@TVguyDarko c645 if im not wrong
Is this the same as the one in your Payhip? So, I don’t need to buy it anymore? 🤔
PDF documents offer more details for all types of content.
Hi do you know how to remove automatic Dolby Vision mode? It’s destroying every settings I made before
Hi - what do you mean? Dolby Vision will activate automatically in built-in streaming apps that support it - the only way to avoid this is to use the app from external device which either doesn't support DV or on which you could disable it. But DV can be nicely adjusted, in the same way as for HDR10 and SDR signals. In my tests DV looks the best, in terms of dynamic range.
great video. how does this tv handle reflections ? does it have a matte finish ? thank you
Thanks! Screen is semi glossy so you can see reflections, especially if you have a light source behind the screen. Competitor models in this price segment are similar in this regard. Take a look at C805 which is even brighter so it can combat reflections more efficiently.
Do a full gig in Glasgow please
Thanks a lot I have same tv and best settings love the tv amazing value for price, one question when I play miles Morales in fidelity and vrr 120 on if I record my tv on camera with 60fps it shows flicker but with my eyes on tv it looks fine, is it safe to play or will it hurt my eyes? but I can only see on video through phone not myself
It is because of refresh rate difference plus your room lighting could be at different frequency. Only if you use black frame insertion that could cause issues long term.
Definitely!
@@tomaszrutkowski5449 Thank you! I understand
Helpful.
Would it work for c749
Yes, it is the same basic model.
Tlc C755 working ?
Based on what I've seen on TCL's Experts meet Experts event, settings are the same. ruclips.net/video/dfFjkWiyGPs/видео.html
Hi I have c805 and on the box it says that supports Dolby vision iq but in the menu I don't see eny settings for Dolby vision at all
Dolby vision menu only appears when your PS5 or XBOX Dolby Vision is enabled within the console settings, also the game you're playing with has to support Dolby Vision otherwise the menu doesn't appear and you also have to be playing the game, but if you quit the game and go back to the console menus, Dolby vision disappears.
Hi - when playing Dolby Vision content, you should have Dolby Vision IQ Picture mode. Do you have it?
@@TVguyDarkoI dint find eny Dolby vision content yet. I looking for and I tell you.
Can you add Turkish subtitles to your videos?
You should be able to use automatically generated ones.
Cannthis work for c805?
Yes - I just got C805 for testing and menus and picture controls are the same.
So you leave brightness and contrast at 100 ?
Yes for HDR content. Of course, if you find the image too bright, for example while watching it in dark room, then you can reduce Brightness to the lower level or activate light sensor. How to enable Light sensor is explained here: ruclips.net/user/shortsQfDY39GHJDM
@TVguyDarko tried it but find smart hdr best on the tcl p638 . Movie mode and standard have drop in picture quality
Moja iskustva s TCL-om su pozitivna i njihove televizore koristim više godina i u cjelini rade stabilno i zadovoljan sam odnosno dobiveno-uloženo.
Srdačno pozdravljam i želim mnogo uspjeha.
Guys settings for 805 ?
Same tips as in this video. I’ll
make a new one for C805 but mainly focusing on the different options I’ve encountered.
My settings keep resetting, any fix for this? For example every tv turn on auto puts it on low output mode
Have you checked that it's in home mode not store.
@@BlutoSlice yes it was on since the installation of tv, settings keep persisting now, no idea what happened
@hrvojekaic7062 did you fix this
Does this work on c755?
Yes.
Settings for Dolby Vision content?
Dolby Vision Dark and that’s pretty much it.
Does this work on c845?
Yes!
Same model no blur reduction settings ?
Which screen size?
@@TVguyDarko 55
Very good and structured review, thank you for the effort!
I have one short question about the TV though: How is the image stability in regard to the viewing angles? I know it is a VA panel, so it shouldn't be the best in class, but still, I read TCL was working on improving in that area.
Including this Info and maybe a short clip walking around the TV from left to right or vice versa would be hightly useful and appreciated from the perspective of the potential buyer!
Thanks in advance!
very good video, thank you)
Glad you liked it!
I did this on c805 and picture is great. It's amazing TV.
Nice! Which screen size do you have? Do you have Local dimming option in the Picture - Brightness menu?
I have 55inch, and local dimming is in advance setting brightness menu, I think the same as in your video. Picture quality is great, blacks are almost like oled, fast interface, only little slow when switching to antenna channels 2sec.,overall I'm very satisfied
Do you maybe have suggestions about audio settings?
Thankyou .. excellent detail on settings for my tv just what I wanted. I could never get game mode to activate with pc input from setting and i never knew quick menue was possible.
You're very welcome!
Thank you
Correct, I also see those options on C805 I’m curently testing. Local contrast is local dimming and you should use that control and disable all other.
@@TVguyDarko if local contrast is local dimming, then what does local dimming option do? :D
Curious..
