    Thank you for making this video, but I do have a couple of questions. What settings would you recommend for game mode and audio quality?

  • @JesperH94
    @JesperH94 7 месяцев назад +6

    I personally found that these settings made the tv look too dim and colorless for bright room viewing condition. I'm not at all a vivid fan, but choosing vivid and making changes, while keeping these settings as described in the video for movie nights will hit the sweet spot for any viewing enviroment. Follow this video for dolby vision dark and movie mode for dark room viewing.
    During daytime viewing i found that the judder is a bit more noticable. What fixed it for me was actually using an apple 4k tv box with match framerate on. The processor in the tv handles the conversion poorly, but the apple tv smoothens it. Although for some content i prefer having both motion sliders at 7. In vivid mode i have brightness 100 (80-100 depending on how much light you get in your room), contrast 70, color saturation 51 (find the sweet spot between 50-55 for your tv), local dimming high, everything else off, except local contrast. I found that dynamic contrast was too agressive, but local contrast low gives that desired color pop, and it also makes faces pop a bit. This is generally for SDR. I'm not sure about HDR10, cause i have not found much HDR content that isn't already Dolby Vision. Oh and go with dolby vision bright for daytime viewing aswell. Play around with the motion sliders to find the sweet spot that works with your eyes or keep it off if that looks best to you.

    • @paft
      @paft 3 месяца назад +2

      It's stupid. If you use an alternative device like a Fire TV stick and either set the picture to 'Game' or set the HDMI to 'Game Master: On' (on the TV) it must force VRR and the judder is reduced/gone. A BIG shame that cannot be done globally.
      A fully capable smart TV, but you have to put up with judder on live TV and use an external streaming device to avoid judder in streaming apps...

    I bought a TCL C845 3wks ago & changed all the settings to what you have recommended and the picture became average at best, I went back to the shop where I purchased it to inform them that my picture is nothing like the demo one in the shop , they said it was all on factory settings & to do the same on mine.I went home & reset the picture back to Restore Defaults & wow, I have that stunning picture back , which is why I bought this TV. I’m very disappointed in your choice of preferred setting as most of what you said to change was to turn off most enhancements & features that make the picture better. Please reply as i’m interested to hear your thoughts.

      Well you shouldnt strict yourself to follow what this video or other people think what the best settings for your TV is. First, color is a matter of taste.. there are people who like bright and vivid tone, people that like natural tone, even those who like mute tone down tone. You bought the TV for your own enjoyment and entertainment, I watch many video like this and for me is just part of experiment and extra info/knowledge.. kind of try and error.. if I like it then I keep it, if I dont then I tune it to my preferences 😊

I sent the SDR to brightness 80 as default and then when I did 100 for HDR it also changes the SDR to 100 and same thing happens when I try and change SDR back to 80 it then makes HDR 80 again. How is the 24p stutter in slow panning shots? Is it worth using any of the motion interpolation features to reduce stutter or do they introduce too many artefacts? I was hoping to invest in a mid-tier Sony TV for their supposedly good motion handling but they're difficult to source in my country.

      The motion introduces too many artifacts for my liking and The panning is not good, I compared to my Projector and honestly is not great

    Hello. Subtitle in movie in dark room > blooming & ghosting??? I have see a other video that it shows the subtitle blooming. Can you confirm, or can you change the settings that subtitle has no blooming?

    It is so stupid that TCL has entangled motion interpolation with Dolby vision IQ 🤦‍♂️
    In my case case Vision Bright also activates it. It is super bothering. It works really bad with fast moving objects.
    At least dark keeps it off.
    Thanks for the tips! they are big improvement over factory setings

    haven t tried this yet, but I never liked Movie mode, nor Dolby Vision Dark. Dolby Vision IMHO should be brighter than anything else. Also I can't watch video without motion clarity and both judder and blur UP, and as I see it, motion clarity is off in the video :(
