Just bought my first 7 string guitar after 12 years and playing.
I immediately tuned to A Standard. Time to play some Korn!

@@tomas_nehyba I recommend having guitars dedicated to lower tunings like this, preferably setting them up for the lower tunings. Strings should be thicker gauge too, but Im not an expert on string tension. All I know is that when a guitar set up for E or D standard goes down to A, it sounds clanky and tuning back up from that tends to make the fretboard bow, bending the wood and making the tone sound kinda gross when back up at E or D standard. Sorry I ranted a bit, just wanna make sure you all use your guitars effectively 😁
I prefer C# standard tuning that way I can play drop A#. As long as you have bigger gauge strings. I got Dunlop 13/56. Seems to do the trick.

This is so helpful especially when my intonation is off. I can tune to a pitch I can actually hear than relie on a needle that has to be calibrated.
I use this tuning on my 27 inch 7 string
You can totally do this on a 6 string just get 13-64 strings set up
I have a 6 string,my ibanez guitar is amazing when it comes to lower tunings

Because its hard to find left handed ibanez 7 string.
Probably going to need heavier strings than that for A standard

just tune every string down a whole step and you'll be fine
For standard tuning it should be BEADGCF I believe.

This is a tuning for a 7string guitar. What are you using? String gauges and length of the neck will play alot into whether you can use this or not (if you'd rather set up a non 7 string to a similar tuning)

What is the different between A standard and drop A..?
I always thought Korn used drop A but I guess I've been wrong. The chord shapes would be similar to standard tuning.
A Standard on 7 string : A - D - G - C - F - a - d (Low A string with D-standard on top)
Drop-A on 7 string: A - E - A - D - G - b - e (Low A with E-standard on top)

C3 Tune For 6 String Bass
Anyone know any bands that use this tuning? It's heavy as all fuck, I want more after hearing a cover of a song in this tuning.
Wolfheart, Black Sun Aeon (in Routa, not sure about the other albums) and Korn. Thats all I know. Very few bands use this tuning.

Because there ist a different step from the 4th to the 5th
I typed in standard tuning for 7 string. I tuned to this. This isn’t standard. Songs that are in Open E Im trying to play in F#! This whole step lower.. Maybe I’m wrong? But I never heard of standard tuning a whole step lower. That means standard tuning can be anything? As long as you tune to the piano.
Why it's a A standard, it should be D standard
