Majority of Bootsy's songs are horn dependent so this works out beautifully. Orchestrated funk is so wrong on so many levels but this is sho nuff funky. Infect the youth with the funk. Forever funking on.
I bet you don't remember going to their concerts? One group, Parliament, Funkadelic, Brides of Funkenstein, and Bootsy Rubber Band, all on the stage the entire night without breaks. Those were real concerts. And the album cover art?

I don't see too many kids of color on the stage (not that they're all from the "inner city" or that there aren't white kids in the inner city), but I KNOW how these things work. It's just like what we have in Baltimore and few other major cities that I've lived in: youth orchestras composed primarily of kids from OUT IN THE SUBURBS ("all over 'Baltimore'") or kids who live in the city proper but who attend PRIVATE schools...with a handful of actual CITY public school kids who make the cut. It's the same way everywhere.
