Dont worry Luka everyone who shoots at Hive guards also thinks that the large fully armored melee only pure bodyguard unit would have a 2+ save or get to have the 5+ FNP they give the Tyrant

The added rules are an interesting way to shake things up. :) I have found a good mix of missions I play between 8th, 9th, and 10th.
I liked the modified rules but hated the new format, with the cameras constantly being so far away from the minis I have no idea what's what.
I miss the old camera style. It felt more personal and you could see all the stuff on the table even when the colours blended.
Now it all blends together at that distance with only big stuff like the Screamer standing out due to size.
I do hope you guys eventually go back to the 1-camera method for batreps. It’s much more engaging imo.
Totally agree! With 1 camera, you focus on the action, the terrain and the models - which is what it's all about. With the wide angles, you’re just watching two dudes stand over a table
As a spectator, I don’t want to be positioned in the corner of the room. I want to get involved with the miniatures

Love this guys! My friend and I are re-learning 7th edition because we miss all of the fun things like challenges and armor facings. We are just going to houserule a lot of the broken things out such as the formations.
I love to hear it!! 7th was one of my favourite editions of the game. I would highly recommend you play with the CAD instead of the unique detachments out of the codices unless you really feel like running strong stuff!
@@lukapavicevic335 100% those formations were too unbalanced, but I do love the rule set as a whole. It’s complex, but honestly the complexity is what got me into 40K and it made the armies/battles that much more immersive for me.
If I were to modify the rules for 40K, it would end up more like second edition than anything.
What was second edition like?
I would strictly play 2nd edition over any other one if I had the opportunity!
I love the batreps but i prefer the old hand held style. You very really good at it and i got a better feel for the battle and units. Now its mostly just watching you and same minis in a documentary style

They mentioned during the game that fights first from a charge, has the exact same meaning than from the ability it self. I thought that having fight first baked into your unit is better.
Great battle and the armies look gorgeous! In the Deathshroud / Warrior combat did the Death Guard not use the re-roll to hits from the Lord of Contagion?
At the part where you returned one warrior, the terminator who died might have been all the missed hits. The squad killed 3 and did 2 wounds to the fourth guy. The boss man would have killed 3 unwounded. Of course I don't know how else to rectify that without redoing the whole combat.
Never thought about trying Warsurge on the channel?
I do believe smoke gives cover and stealth. Enjoying the new format and liking the mods.

Im not sure whether I misunderstood how you chose the debuffs, but making it so you choose your opponents units instead could be a fun way to both prevent "I made my useless units even more useless" while also making it a thing that "benefits you rather than hurting yourself" while still causing basically the same results.
We picked things we generally cared about!

Suggestion I saw for changing up the game: some guys I watch vids for made a semi-coop variant called Horde Mode which might be interesting to do.
Rule tweaks for house games is fun but I had to skip the entire intro because of how many times "modded rules, we will explain them in a bit" was said. It's Ike hearing a little kid story "and then, and then, and then"
Enjoy the content but not the slow talk explanation what feels like video length padding. Just my take
One thing I'd love you guys did, is if you added a score about on the screen. Might be nice to see to keep track.

So I may redblooded American and everything.... I am seriously considering retiring as closest. I can to the min four gaming headquarters so I can just play games and shit all the time there... You guys really look like you're living the dream.
You guys should try One Page Rules if you're feeling the games are getting repetitive.

@@Ohdeargawd was joke, riffing on the battle report. At one point Luka says something about no consequences, and Matt says something like, “wait, I didn’t tell you? If you lose this game you lose your job.” ;)

MWG: "We play Modded 40k! ... Where we change the rules a bit, but we'll explain it here..."
Then again, standing out without doing anything different is the media way.

I like changes in game play if makes it feel new. thats why I dont like competitive play its like you are always playing against the same thing all the time.

@@Redtecho Yeah, Codex creep and too many bloated Stratagems with brains turning to mush. Yeah, it was worse. Compared to ninth, tenth is much more balanced and the Codex creep hasn't been nearly as bad. Every single faction can be dominant with the right list.

Eldar have been OP since release.

10th is just more rail roaded with less options.
It's still not balanced.
