I just so happened to stumble upon a wiki page for Dragon-Ogres 2 days ago. They are a primordial species, who collectively made a deal with Chaos(mostly Tzeentch, it seems), to make them immortal (outside of combat), but at the cost of their fertility. They live only to fight, slumber for ages when not fighting, relish and are charged by lightning, and yearn for the end of the world at the hands of Chaos.
Please keep the third-person perspective filming for these battles! Its much easier to watch. Thank you for making these videos. I love watching them while I work on my minis. Take care!
Will do! We’re liking the new format too. Massive shoutout to Play on Tabletop, Tabletop Titans, Tabletop Tactics. Vanguard Tactics, and Mountain Miniatures.
I don't know for sure where the term Shartak comes from, but I couldn't help but notice Shaggoth and Shartak are both just one letter off from Shoggoth and Shantak, and strongly suspect a connection.
Oh man Goblin Fanatics! I remember loving those models when I was first getting into the hobby (early 90’s) if I had ever collected Fantasy it would have been night goblins. Loved the flavor.
Mine just murdered about 150pts of my own army while dancing about the enemy knights! Each Night goblin character needs a unit of night goblins and VV each night goblin unit per character. 4 characters would need you to field 4 units.
Nope. You are mixing rules of night gobboz and black orcz there a bit. Each night gobbo character allows you to wield one mob of night gobbos, squigs, hoppers and manglers each, but characters themself don't need mobz etc to be wielded. That is the Da Boyz rule black orc characters and mobz have...
fun game to watch, not complaining, but I must say somewhere in the background of the background sound, if you have a headset on, it sounds like someone in knocking at your door.
the old mangler squids model might by my favorite warhammer model of all time. I still need to buy it, I cant believe I didnt get one before they discontinued them.
The war machine is also classified as "Skirmisher", so I think it would have a chance to Panic from the general fleeing through it. They would only FBIGO, so no big deal in this case.
Methinks Fanatics will be getting a FAQ; they hit pretty damn hard (like in prior editions) but rarely seem to self-destruct and are under costed for what they do. EDIT: Oh, my bad...random move after initial release and then the shaman getting hit by one and a couple others living up to MAD.
at 1:13:00, I think the spearmen would actually get to fight from the second rank. The Stepping Forward rule says: A model cannot fight during a phase in which it stepped forward "into the fighting rank." The second rank of spearmen are making supporting attacks, and they are NOT stepping into the fighting rank.
It was played right. Per Excess Casualties (pg 150), if the fighting rank takes more wounds than it has, the unit reduces any supporting attacks it has
@@jessepigram1039 Thanks! I had missed that since I was looking at the "We can't all fight" and "stepping forward" rules on pg 146. It's a bit maddening that they give you half a rule on one page, then the more complete explanation a few pages later, but there you have it, you're totally correct. .(the same layout issue causes confusion with spell vortexes - you have to separately look up "spell categories" page on 107 to learn that you can't hit an enemy model when casting a vortex, because none of the vortex spell descriptions say so.)
I was watching your video and I wonder, are you guys recording the footage on all the cameras at the different angels at all times, or do you have someone helping you make the transitions from camera to camera?? Seems like it would be a lot of editing making all those camera change transitions. But, this was very enjoyable so do to that.
Could you use your charge movement to pivot away from the front of a unit -> move -> pivot into the flank, provided you have enough movement? Like Belakor might have been able to do at around 1:01:55. Or do you always have to take the shortest path to the enemy?
You have to wheel to maximise contact, but otherwise you move directly. However, the arc you charge into is determined at the start of the charge, so you wouldn't be able to sneak a flank this way anyway
What base size is the Goblin on Giant Cave Squig? I'm currently painting the AOS variant but I want him on a square base for old world. Just not sure what size I need to excavate from the hobby warrens or order online.

But if I think they need more and you think they need less, it probably means it's the exact right amount
I like fanatics, however, I would house-rule it so that if your fanatics hit a unit before their first controlled move, they would lose that controlled move and revert to moving in a random direction that turn.
Not looked at the old world rules yet, but it seems a bit over-powered that the fanatics don't die if you run deliberately into them. Also, the fact that they are pushed out and get easily two rounds of swirling just seems too much. ( i am an orcs and goblins player and this feels to stronk). Fun battle rep and nice look armies, keep em coming!

Am I wrong in thinking that as things are right now, fanatics are a bit too strong and goblin warboss leadership is a bit too low for them to be effective? I love night goblins, and also I feel like the only 'correct' way of playing them effectively is spamming fanatics.
Nobody noticed that after being released fanatics are supposed to move in random direction? Kinda pushes back some of their insane damage to the goblin player. 😅
Hi, out of curiosity, why are the movement trays sold on the miniwargaming forge the wrong size? There's 2-3mm of slack in the design of every tray, the 30mm base at the front of a lance is slopping around in a 33mm spot, the 2nd rank is 63mm wide and the rear is 183mm. The lengths are different in that the front two ranks have 60mm but the rear rank has 63mm. The square trays are similar. It appears as if whoever has designed them hasn't calibrated their printers at all and rather than fix that they're designing around it so whenever someone else goes to print the files their models bases are sat in there slopping around with significant play. Because I can't imagine you're actually printing and sending products with such poor fitment. They're so bad, they're just the wrong size. it's way more than compensating for fitment.
I’ve never played (but I would like to) but I am confused about the Fanatics being overpowered comments. They did some damage but, as far as I can tell, the Warriors of Chaos still ultimately shrugged it off and won. Was it supposed to be an even easier win for Warriors of Chaos or am I missing something?
