I think what distinguishes Lucas from other hosts at this channel is that he is so down to earth and not pretentious at all. Very informative, great show! Keep up the good work Lucas!
You present in such a respectful, educated manner-- it shows that you really go through the effort to try to understand the food and the culture. You are a wonderful human being.
Lucas this is awesome. A refreshing episode. It wasn't fancy schmancy. It was the type of place people don't usually film but has got a true loyal base within a community. I love the way you could interact with the people and with your viewers over it. I love its informative and casual air. Keep it up! Bring us some more Pakistani eateries, please! You're really just uncovering a niche area, neglected by mainstream reviewers. Thanks for the content. :)
This place used to be the best pakistani food period. They use to be busy 24 hours , and you get happy when you have to visit downtown becuase you end up visting Pakistani tea house... Generous portion, deep flavors, best naan bread , their chicke. tikka masala was unbelievable. New owner didn't keep their customers...and now totaly close.
Faraz Ahmad haleem birtani? what are these...beef karhi ...afghani pulao ...boiled mutton....beef mutton tikkay ....mutton rush ....padday tikkay ...talk about these dishes
We have seen this video like more than 3 times atleast and something about it makes us want to keep watching it again. The hosting, editing, the food it's all balanced.
The chef said the only difference between indian and pakistani food is that indians use a lot of butter...assuming hes referring to clarified butter or ghee. That may be true, however when the two countries were one....the pakistan region is sort of northern india...most of pakistani people are of the punjabi variety. Hence pakistani food is like north indian food. Or specialists in mughlai food....the meaty items in their food are of persian influences...from back in the day when the empire stretched all the way to india...indian food is dependent on which region youre visiting...north indian and pakistani food is very similar...south india is completely different. ...these are all my opinions..
Vin Nayar and your opinions are way too distracted.....you indians always try to show pakistan as indian part when some thing is shown good otherwise always try to bash pakistan.....and you have so lack of knowledge plz do researh on pakistan as punjab is only a province of pakistan and other areas like sindh k.p.k balochistan every one have their own food own culture and every thing else.... we do not make punjabi food as we peoples of sindh have our awn food style and famous dishes......sindh is 5000 year old historical land so please.....and k.p.k is pashtun region they have their own food style
Its not true our food and taste even in Punjabi dishes are different and other sides of Pakistan had no link with India at all so technically our taste in food is different from each other not same..
we stumbled upon this diner a few years ago. it was exactly the way it looked on this show but now I hear they are under new management and things have changed..
+cash2200 I don't really know why it's called butter chicken... They don't use that much butter, they use more yogurt or cream instead. They just fry the spices in ghee or clarified butter but they do that with most curries...
Lucas can u do more shows on Pakistani food it's one off the best in world . Lots of countries have taken Pakistani dishes and change according to there taste like biryani, chicken tikka etc. But the original is the best in Pakistan there is like 20 different like of biryanis they make.
Lucas- you are a great tv host and very knowledgable about food! You should definitely try indian food- south india is famous for this long crepe called a dosa which you should definitely seek out (preferably in Los Angeles)
Its too bad many people associate Pakistan with terrorism. Pakistani food is really good, especially the meat dishes. A lot of the Pakistani restaurants serve authentic food as well. Many of the Indian restaurants are actually run by Bangladeshis and focus more on the drinks side of the menu, and it is hard to find authentic Indian food in many parts of the US.
Hey man. I think that you going out to the restaurants, and being a precursor is great to all of us watching, but, I think what you lack is an oomph of getting me there. I've watched a few videos and I understand who you are (based on you youtube personality) and I want to KNOW I should go to this place, not just WATCH the next video. Thank you

Actually Indian and Pakistani food is very different. I got to know that at an Indian restaurant here in Lahore Pakistan. For Example, DOSA and Palak Paneer are mostly the Indian ones not Pakistani. Similarly, Pakistani Biryani tastes way more different than the Indian one. Also the Chicken Karahi, Chicken Makhni, Chicken Boneless etc taste different than the Pakistani ones. U can say, Pakistani dishes are a little soft in spices than Indian ones. The final look of dishes is same but there definitely is a big difference in taste. And i guess that difference mostly can only be described by Indian or Pakistani chefs.
For Manhattan, a huge plate of food that's recommended and not reviled at 2am is unheard of, especially when it has flavor. Take your chances with third shift fast food staff. I've paid the price a few times. Denny's in CT and NJ did me dirty enough times that you couldn't pay me to eat there. I puked hard off just a plate of fries while snacking through Denny's in Danbury, CT on my way to Portland, Maine. I'd much rather get a tiny bag of chips and an overpriced envelope of flavor dusted peanuts at the convenience store to tide me over until I can hit a real mom and pop breakfast spot in Vermont or New Hampshire early in the morning. The fact that with a gun at my face, I'd opt for the 7-11 rotary hot dog device and a tiny pack of $5 beef jerky at a sketchy 7-11 in Hartford's North End over Denny's in Vernon should say something. I think bored teens working the graveyard shift in the largely well-to-do northeast have a bone to pick with society at large. They think they deserve more. If you have to stop at Denny's or IHOP in the wee hours in the northeast, pick the place in the worst neighborhood possible. That franchise's employees likely care deeply about retaining an entry level job and not spraying industrial cleaner into your pancake for kicks only to continue pwning n00bz in Mom's basement when they get fired.
ohhhhh!!!!! if you talk about foods then there is no match Pakistani foods.... one can disagree with me it's quite personal opinion.... nice video.... you should also try Paaye.....
Pakistani food is a blend of middle eastern, south asian and central/ west asian. Pakistani cuisine incorporates and is a fusion of persian, afghani and indian cuisine. Kebabs/ grilled meat ( beef, chicken, lamb) is a huge part of Pakistani food like its persian neighbors. While curries and lentils are from the indian side. Pakistani cuisine is heavily reliant on meat and beef dishes while indian cusine is mostly vegetarian witj some meat additions passed on by their mughal muslim rulers from central/west asia
Well to be honest Butter Chicken is not a Pakistani dish .. just like Chicken Tikka Masala it kind of snuck its way in after becoming super popular in the Western world .. also he tried the Tea which kind of the Main thing there
Wow - thanks for eating with your hands. I find that most that don't understand Indian/Pakistani food like to use fork and knife -- does not work! To get the full flavor, you need to eat with your hands. Get messy! Nobody will care! :-)
lol I felt like in the end the chef'd be like "In Indian food they use a lot of butter ... and they are infidels" lol I felt some bitterness in his comment especially when he went "we don't do that" Like it is disgusting lol
I think what distinguishes Lucas from other hosts at this channel is that he is so down to earth and not pretentious at all. Very informative, great show! Keep up the good work Lucas!
+Ege Onalp Couldn't agree more...Some of these reporters are only complaining and critiquing without actually being informative

"Indians use a lot of butter, we do not."
"So I got the butter chicken here.........."
+cash2200 I don't really know why it's called butter chicken... They don't use that much butter, they use more yogurt or cream instead. They just fry the spices in ghee or clarified butter but they do that with most curries...
Yeah, that's what I was curious about...
+mutaween464 its buttery, the cream they use in it was just mistakenly called butter
it;s the texture..buttery smooth texture due to it being blended repeatedly.
cash2200 I am Indian too
You made me hungry all the way here in Karachi, Pakistan :)

Pakistan food Awesome
Amazing Pakistani 🇵🇰 Delicious 😋🇵🇰Food

dang looks good
Pakistan have different and rich culture then india ... Indians don't have chapali kabab 😉😉🇵🇰🇵🇰
Ive had Chapli Kabab in Delhi many times, but as far as Im aware, Pakistan doesn't have anything close to south indian food...
saurav raj Singh dude you people worship cows and have no toilets
Brown Messi that isnt original they belong to takhtbai mardan
Pakistani foods are the best tasting foods. Try Pakistani chicken biryani once.
Wow - thanks for eating with your hands. I find that most that don't understand Indian/Pakistani food like to use fork and knife -- does not work! To get the full flavor, you need to eat with your hands. Get messy! Nobody will care! :-)

MrAtaguas That would make sense if there weren't Muslims in India. India actually has one of the largest Muslim populations in the world.
Lucas, NO SOUP FOR YOU!!! ;)
try to eat Karahi with naan and qaurma with naan and jalfrezi with naan ...instead of eating with spoons...
nice
pakistani food resembles with indian food but there is lot of taste difference but actually most of dishes came from ''Mughals''who were muslim too.
Green beans potatoes..
