HI GUYS! I'm currently editing all my videos in Davinci Resolve so it's adding a lot of time to editing which is leading to a random video schedule but I hope you enjoy the 3 uploads this week! haha. Was so fun to shoot this and omg i love the new peak design tripod!!!
Sara Dietschy how do you like it?? Any Resolve vs Premier videos on the horizon?
I’m planning to switch to Resolve as soon as I get a laptop that can handle it.
Editing on premiere cs6 by the way
there are some much cheaper adapters around, gobe makes one for those mounts for about £20 /$30 ish
Sara! Good videos and I love your simplicity and use of real life activities you incorporate. You edit pretty quick it seems. On Resolve how long is it averaging you to create and push out? Are you pleased so far with the flow, speed, & robustness of Resolve? Stay well and keep with the cool videos that keep me learning.
Those zooms are not the best R lenses. Get a Summicron R 50 version 2 (the one with built in slide out hood, around 300,- bucks) and stop it down a little. Even my A7RII doesn't have enough resolution to keep up. It's one of the best lenses in the world and is still being sold in a different package as an M lens to this day.
Whoever is the camera guy needs to clean his sensor!
Now we know the real test result of the Leica lenses!
Eagle eyes 💪👌 ...as soon as i read your post , i saw those grey blobs on the left 💪😎
I need too
I was just going to mention that...
What you have right there is just priceless. Vintage lenses gives a photo its own character straight out of camera. I'm saving to buy my first vintage lens. I am inspired by you 🇵🇭📷😀
Old Leica glass is probably the best glass available. Old Nikon glass is right there. That contrast difference you noticed is due to the quality of the glass. You have a true treasure from your grandfather. That glass can set you apart in a crowd of other photographers. I also think that Peak Tripod looks awesome as well.
I second this. As a long time pro photographer and now a profesional camera assist. I can tell you once you really start to master your craft you'll laugh a bit at calling them similar. Those lenses are really some of the best available. Stick with the primes though for the real difference. Quite the treasure he left you. :)
Congrats on 500k ❤️. You definitely deserve way more than that and i wish you all the best. I’m a big fan of your videos 🔥.
The sensor is really dirty! Great video otherwise
Ha I noticed that too! Upper left corner
Noo! Not dirty! Its a Part oft the "creative content"
Sensor is dirty to compensate Sarah's incredible beauty 🤤😂
@@Metaldetectiontubeworldwide Gross
@@dictionaryofwords1108 she does have really clear skin. i wish my skin looked like that lol
I recently picked up a Leica R3 with a Summicron 50mm as well, which I have been adapting to my Panasonic G85 :) Love it, such a beautiful image!
they look so great!!
Sara, I hope you cherish your newfound Leica lenses. As a Leica shooter much of my life, I enjoy the thoughtful experience of shooting Leica M and native lenses. If I must run and gun, I use Nikon. But if I want to be deliberate and artistic, I use my Leica M (and more recently, the SL2 with native and M lenses). I must confess, I was a bit nervous from 1m to 1m20s as Leica lenses, caps and R camera spilled onto the table. Yes, thank Grandpa for the treasures he's bestowed upon you. My best to you in your photographic endeavors!
Sara, just wanted to say that I enjoy the diversity and creativity of your channel. Keep it up. Greetings from the Netherlands
OH WOAH! Lovely surprise! Didn't expect an unboxing of the Peak Tripod!!! But I was eyeing on that for such a long time... Damn Sara, now you make me want it even more :o
A few months ago, my grandpa did the same thing but he used minolta, and the camera body is broken and because minolta went out of business, it's hard finding somewhere to fix it and I might need to just buy a film camera for school. But I did get a minolta to sony adapter for $20 at b&h and I love using his lenses. I've also noticed how nice it is to use the focus peaking on my A7. It makes using manual lenses so much easier and fun.
What a great gift of your kind grandpa 🥰...
Sweet lenses , great video Sarah 🤩😎
because of you I started learning resolve and it really is good and I am still using the free version!!! and yes the stabilization is awesome
Been adapting all kinds of old glass to my a7 and yes its tons of fun. Minolta, olympus, nikon and canons from the 70s. Most of them are less sharp but give very unike reults
Super clean as always
Congrats on 500,000 subscribers Sara, you'll hit a million in no time! =D
i have a weird question @ 5:00 when using a zoom lens with the steady shot is it recommended for adjusting this setting while zooming in and out. Would it be ok to leave it at the fully zoomed in mm. Im a bit confused about this. I use a vivatar 75-205mm fd mount adapted on a6500. And what about the cropping factor. Sorry about the noob questions. 🤯
Leicas are just too good! Loving the crispiness and bokeh off the Leica lenses
Not to nitpick too much, but what are your export settings from Resolve? The vid was looking a little more compressed than usual.
PLEASE DO NOT BUY THE NOVOFLEX ADAPTERS UNLESS YOU CAN REALLY AFFORD THEM. The K&F Concept Adapters are at least as good as the novoflex ones, but they are just about $20. So please dont go out and buy one without research...
K&F have subtle light leaks that decontrasts the image, if you’re going to spend thousands of dollars on Leica glass, it makes sense to spend a wee bit extra on a good adapter
Congrats on 500k subs, Sara!!
I also really was just blown away by the difference in video quality of pro DSLR vs iPhone video in the quick side by side at 9:40 I mean I know it's there but it's just huge when seeing it like that.
Sara, you can fold your Manfrotto tripod in that different way that allows the quick release plate to stay attached.
1. Before folding the first leg up, move the ball to the 90 degree portrait position with the release handle pointing up. Don't tighten down the ball.
2. Now fold up one leg so that it goes in the space between the plate and the screw that tightens the ball down. You may have to rotate the head to get them both snug against the leg.
3. Fold the other two legs up.
Tripod fits easily into the case.
And now, try out the Leica M10 (or P). If you like the R lenses, you will love the M lenses.
Beautiful photos! :)
Use focus peaking and magnifying when using manual lenses on your a7! just a little pro tip :) nice vid sara
Congrats on 500k ... you really deserve it 👍🏼
WoW
*500k SUBS*
I am waiting for 500k more.
Best of luck
hey , I wish I could let yo know before you bought the 100 dollar adapter , you can find all kind of adapters for vintage lenes for around 5-10 bucks online on ebay .( I shoot sony with only vintage lenses so the cost would add ap quickly )
Thanks for the honest and entertaining review! Cheers :)
Um, I'm a little confused with going with the Novaflex adapter, as it is currently almost 7x the price of the K&F Concept version with the same functionality of a dumb adapter... I have a fodga adapter, which is 20$ and it's completely worth at LEAST 5x as much... so why the Novaflex?
The Elmarit 135 is razor sharp! Stunning lens for portrait; not for landscape because loses detail in the distance. The other two lenses are not good., but looks nice aesthetically with Sony A.
Try:
the legendary 35-70 f/4
90 f/2.8
90 f/2
80-200 f/4 last version
35 f/2
50 f/2
apo telyt-r 180 f/3.4
apo elmarit-r 180 f/2.8
Great video.
Well once again watched all three of the productions you edited for RUclips in which you used DaVinci Resolve. Noticed no real difference from your other productions, and with this you have sold me on using the free version of DaVinci Resolve 16 witch for me will be a KISS way to make a multi camera production.
A rocket blower is very helpful if you want to get rid of of dust on your camera sensor 😊
Other than that, I envy you on that Leica lens collection, all do I have extensive collection of Zuiko lenses myself...
Does focus peaking work with these?
Brazil here, great video !
The photos look so good, especially the lens flare ones! Congrats on 500k :)
Novoflex sells the most expensive adapters which do exactly the same as cheaper Chinese knock-offs. I am using since years a $10 Fotasy adapter for my M lenses on my Sony A7R.
I just got this camera! Looking forward to possibly doing this as well. 😄
Superb congratulations for 500k Subscribers Sara
35-70 is great lens! Love mine
awesome video, Sara! you should definitely try out black and white film.
Im waiting for the next video to be like, I love Leica! My switch to the Panasonic S1 with the L mounts!
guys- what is the best camera for videography/photography? I'm a fuji user and it's just not cutting it (something kinda affordable?
Still Fuji, you can get the X-H1 refurbished with a battery pack for $1600 CAD. It does 4k, F-log, and anything else you'd need to get into filmmaking.
i really love ur photography skills
Sara who makes the grey backdrop behind you?
Props to grandpops for amazingly taking care of his glasses!!
500k yeeeeeyy. Here's hoping you hit one million.
Ur studio... Is awesome
That tripod! Great video/photos!
I am also a user of Leica R system, using a Leicaflex SL2 for film, A7II for Digital, and I gotta say the R system is the hidden gem, same good quality design as the M glasses, but way cheaper.
Personally I really like the R24/2.8 (I know it's made by minolta but it performs well), R50/2 (doesnt matter which version, even V1 is pretty good), R50/1.4 (I have a V1 and it's amazing, not too expensive too, for a Leica lux lense), R90/2 (V1 again), R80/1.4 (trust me it's worth every penny when you are shooting something metallic or at places with slightly less light), R180/3.4 APO (sharp, just very very sharp, terrible bokeh tho).
Congrats Sara on 500k 🤗🤗🤗. I always watch your videos late now because I don't have fast internet connection in my room at the college. Anyways, awesome photos from the Leica lenses and I make it go the end as usual.🤗
Just the adapter along cost more than my nifty fifty which is the only lens I have besides the unusable kit lens
Dang! That opening b-roll though 😲
Oh my gosh! Love those Leica lens. Thanks for sharing your continuing adventures with your grandfather's photo gear.
Lol I just go back from vacation and had spots my video. I was so bummed. But I feel a little better seeing you video
Highly recommend TechArt LM-EA7 II, which is able to convert Leica M-mount lens to Sony E-mount with AUTO-FUCUS function!!!!
Congrats on 500k Subs :D
You need to clean your camera sensor. It's spotty from the video.
I adapted a Leica-R Summilux 50mm to an A-mount (full frame) by changing the flange on it (whereas the E-mount requires the adapter to adjust the different registry distance for mirrorless.)
It's consistently very sharp and has an interesting characteristic with transmission of light that is unique among lenses, and I've been tempted to experiment with a Leica-R Angenieux lens, though have hesitated. Another interesting lens to adapt to a Sony platform is the Super Takumar 50mm f1.4 (preferably the 8 element version as it is slightly sharper) and even the 7 element version is sharper than the Leica lens (though not consistently throughout the image which Leica really is an ideal choice for a well-balanced image, however, I find it exceptionally easy to get sharp focused fine print, and I know it isn't because the Leica is somehow not focusing correctly or has something wrong with it--even though I technically restored the lens from inoperability due to the focus ring becoming dislodged inside it, and in some ways the Super Takumar is more clinical and modern in character which can perhaps be perceived as a dissadvantage to the tone of an image.) Though Leica have different build qualities among the various revisions, the Super Takumar is exceptional in comparison and has quicker focus movements from some of the models.
One negative of the Leica is that the older lens coatings or lens formula design will generate a green chromatic aberration with night photography that is mostly removed with more modern lens design, even with the use of a polarizer filter. I should point out the lens is also about 2x heavier than the Super Takumar; though I still use the Leica.
congrats on 500k subs👍👍
You should look for micro contrast, you can see easier changing to B/W and look the small nuances!
Those Leica prime lens are on POINT!
Those lenses are SICK! Great glass is great forever! Awesome video!
Dirty sensor question! You commented on the sensor spots. Do you clean your sensors or have them cleaned at a shop? I'm plagued by spots on my Nikon D7000 sensor but I'm afraid to DIY the cleaning so I end up taking it somewhere ('cause I'm too compulsive about spot free in camera?). Interested in your thoughts. Oh, and another fun video! Great seeing the retro glass on current cameras.
I do self clean until it seems like it just keeps coming back (usually means I'm just moving around dust not actually taking it with me)
First few min were with my a7s ii since I was adapting to my a7iii so I hadn't noticed until now :)
Sara how about an update with these lenses on A7S3?
The photos almost look old worldy. Maybe the natural contrast and slightly less sharpness. Looked nice though. I guess most people enhance the background so much these days you lose a lot of contrast. Thanks for sharing
That tripod is legit!! Jelly!🙃
why the iphone's video color so warm?
Hey!!!! Love your videos!
oh Busan! My home town.
A lot of the Leica zoom lenses ar actually not Leica based. The 35-70 mm you use at that moment for example has its origin from Minolta. The 28- 70 mm has its origin with Sigma. They are OK to use but can not really be compared with Lenses like the Summicron or Summilux. Leica also had an Angieux based zoomlens but they were very expensive at that time. Still i like the fact that you use these old lenses and show what they can do.
I've come from the channel of John hill, John is a very good actor
Wonderful
Sara learned not to sell all her glass. also loved the video ♥
NEVER AGAIN ... rip my canon L glass
Just wanted to point out that your sensor has dust on it. Can be seen on the left side of the video D:
Get the Fotodiox Bronto or Techart Pro adapter for your Sony camera so you get autofocus.
Love watching your videos, hyper, weird and wonderful. Us gingers gotta stick together lol .
No way! You went to korea? One of the picture seems like Busan!
Not a fan for video but for photos, they look great!
Beautiful
Why did you pay so much for that adapter? it's just a simple adapter the $20 adapters would give you the same results
those ar my thoughts
The EF Version Costs over 300$ and it´s eaven less Material it is just ridiculous
@@notombo9459 I guess the people selling it said hey if they got Leica they got money lol
I love your videos go on ♥️♥️♥️♥️from egypt
What is going on at the 8 second mark? Any juicy news you want to share?
Congratulations
Id guess that sony lenses are generally sharper than what Leica offers. And the new sony a7riv body probably smokes anything that leica offers technology wise. Only reason I'd use a leica is if I liked the colors it produced.
Congratulations for 500k Subscribers I am in love with your eyes
Also I noticed that you have some like, stains on your lens that you filmed the intro with? if you look there are grey dots. Just letting you know ^-^
yeah i made fun of them at some point haha since i was adapting on my sony a7iii we were using my a7s ii which i haven't used in awhile and just noticed the dirty sensor!!! :/
@@saradietschy still an amazing video always envious ♥
NIKON spotted !!!!!! is that teh Z6 kit??????
okay yeah but did you see the A7IV??
Sarah! You've got to print yourself out a "media pass" that way you don't get charged for overweight bags!!!

So what's the deal with the Sigma, Leica, and Panasonic alliance?
I’m here with 1 view can I have a heart ??? ☺️
I have the same story
There is actually an AF adapter for Leica lenses for Sony
They’re manual focus lenses
@@s2eves look it up, it exists. The adaptor moves the mounted MF lens to focus
Jay park No thanks 😂😂
@@s2eves It's called Techart Pro. Converts Leica M to Sony E with AF.

They looks SICC
cooooooooooooooooool !!!
Will you show us the Nikon Z?

You will not be disappointed 😁 in converting Leicas to anything
youve been to Korea?
