      On the whole, the physics isn’t complicated. Perhaps somewhat counterintuitive but not super complex. 😅And it makes sense in the context of the speculated plot, with a margin for creative license of course. Admittedly, I have a background in stellar dynamics, but it could work. Wormholes supposedly don’t just connect two points in space-time but also other universes (if you subscribe to the Many Worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics).
      Bringing it back to the story: Perhaps the human made mass relay could slingshot a ship into a black hole, entering at a precise angle to help the ship survive the immense gravitational forces around and inside a black hole.

    This actually explains a lot of things, and really accurately Woodlink both galaxies together. And the fact that you had mentioned that the next Mass Effect would be several years after the reapers have been destroyed, would allow people from the Andromeda galaxy to return to the Milky Way galaxy without any catastrophic effect on the timeline, because at that point in the timeline, their characters have already left the Milky Way galaxy, so they have no worry about running into their past selves while they’re still in cryo-sleep. There is one Siri that could explain why a liara is stumbling and without completely dipping into the destroy ending; what if we are is implants were damaged because of the mass of release of crucible energy, and it messed with her ability to access her biotics. She might need at some point to surgically replace those synthetic parts within her or on the flipside. What if your rights and there’s something on the dead reaper carcass or within it that void serve the technology within her for being able to tap into her biotic powers. Kind of like a radar jammer on an aircraft, preventing another aircraft from providing a mysel, log onto it as a defensive measure. Basically, if somebody with biotic abilities got too close to a reaper and they try to use their powers to destroy the reaper. It wouldn’t work because of the jamming coming from the reaper itself. We already know they emits a signal to indoctrinate there people. It would not be much of a stretch for them to have a failsafe signal that they could emits that with jam any biotic from accessing their powers near the carcass. By the way, the moving of space-time around a spacecraft was shown in star track, which is mathematically, proven to be correct, and is a much more efficient form of space travel than what they were originally doing in the Mass Effect games because it notifies the need to move faster than the speed of light because essentially your ship is standing still and space is moving around it, so you don’t have to worry about generating enough force to propel you faster than the speed of light. With all this being said, the next question on my mind is who will be our next enemy. Does this mean that finally will be able to take the fight fully to the ket and are they going to be our very next foe because in their mind if they get through that wormhole, they will have found trillions of people waiting to be converted to ket and because the reapers have just spent all this time pounding the crap out of us. We are still considered in a weakened military state, and not prepared to fight and onslaught From a very formidable military.

    I agree with your hypothesis about Dark Energy as a potential plot device to connect the Milky Way to Andromeda. It has been speculated that Einstein-Rosen bridges (wormholes) are traversable black holes.
    And that negative energy densities are necessary to not just required for faster than light warp travel but also to “hold” the pathway between black holes open for travel to even be possible.
    Though I’d also like to draw your attention to the effect used to portray the scourge in Andromeda. It appears that not only does the scourge seem to violate the second law of thermodynamics (entropy) it also seems to have the ability to “crystallise” space-time. What if that’s how the scourge/dark energy is overcoming the black hole singularities preventing potential travellers from being crushed making travelling back and forth possible?
    P.S. The area of the event horizon of a black hole is called the Schwarzschild radius. 😅 Also, yes if the Helius cluster’s black hole’s accretion disk has a azure hue to it. Could be because the Eezo is helping the accreted matter to accelerate at near light speeds, giving it a blue shifted appearance to an outside observer.

    Great video as usual Paragon. You do the current ME trilogy credit with your commitment to seeking explanations for the next ME trilogy. I watched a video The Science of Mass Effect - Dark Energy and Worm Holes by szierera. A post from kabbooooom commented on the flaw in the scientific explanation of the video and said Mass Effect lore is in and of itself it’s own lore which I took to mean that basically ME does not have to scientifically satisfy our current understanding of the laws of atrophysics. I mean look at Star Trek. No one needs an explanation how they zap around as long as human behaviour is human and not too far fetched like Marvel comics superhero stuff. I’d be interested in your ideas on why the Andromeda lot would turn around and come back to the Milky Way galaxy.

      Definitely get that the ME team doesn't have to make any scientific sense with their explanations. Judging from the amount of effort they put in for Andromeda from a scientific standpoint, I do think they're trying to be at least somewhat legit.
      Indeed! I'm working on figuring out why the Andromeda crew would jump into a wormhole / return to the Milky Way. All I can say is, it's very fun speculating and theorizing these types of things. :)

    I recently saw a video from PBS space time describing scenarios where stars have a small black hole in their cores. One of the traits of such a star is that at one point the star starts to rapidly inflate. Does this ring a bell? Yes...we are definitely onto something here. It is astonishing to see in retrospect how much the ME story writers already established for ME 5, folowing not just scifi but actual physical properties of the universe. Conrad's dissertation and the ME2 mission with that rapidly "aging" star.... Amazing! And I almost forgot: Shepard caused the scurge! The mass relay explosion in ME3 made a strong ripple effect, wooshing away the outer layer of that star. It probably also pushed inwards the black hole of the star some "relay explosion". And voilà, in Andromeda the scurge comes out as some spilled-over mass relay explosion "stuff"...at least that is my theory...

    • @paragonseven
      @paragonseven  5 месяцев назад

      Interesting theory on the scourge! The Andromeda galaxy is pretty far away for a Milky Way mass relay explosion to reach it, IMO, but in the ME universe, anything's possible.
      IIRC, I think the scourge is explained in MEA as initially being caused by an explosion at a Jardaan facility in Andromeda. The info on it is buried in datapads on various planets in the Heleus cluster. I'd have to double-check this though in future playthroughs.

    • @openorigami
      @openorigami 5 месяцев назад

      Sorry I was not specific. What I meant is that the Dahl black hole may be connected to the one in Andromeda. While Shepard blows up the mass relays happens in ME3, the effect may come out on the Andromeda side in the past. You know, crazy things may happen with black holes. But I must admit I completely overlooked the scurge explanation mentioned by you. It would be cool to jump between Andromeda and the Milky Way through the black hole portals though...

    The Kett drives are warp drives like the Federation has in Star Trek, not a wormhole generator. An Einstein-Rosen Bridge or wormhole as pop culture has coined it, are a link in two separate points in space time. The example of two blackholes connecting to make a shortcut in space is just a theoretical explanation for a naturally occurring "wormhole" but nothing could survive the extreme gravity after passing the event horizon and even if that was possible we still don't have a clue what the actual "hole" is due to nothing beyond the event horizon being observable while outside of it. ANd if you were able to do that and find an actual tear in space time, big enough to fly a ship through, you should be exiting through a white hole, which is supposed to expel matter similarly to how the black hole draws it in. And it still wouldn't be a viable solution because of the drastic time warping effects caused be the insane gravity of the blackhole. Any wormhole used to travel through would have to be stable enough to allow safe passage and most likely artificially generated. Maybe someone could figure out how to use mass effect fields to void the effects and crushing gravity of a black hole and use it as an Einstein Rosen Bridge. Maybe even using the super massive blackholes at the center of spiral galaxies as some sort gate system and make it similar to the relays and say the blackholes were there to be used as gateways for us to use when we reach the intergalactic phase. They could even use the idea of taking Kett technology and integrating it with Milky Way Tech as well as the vault tech. Maybe the scourge could be a result in a miscalculation from attempting it without the missing tech by the race that built the vaults and created the Angara. What the MW colonists and the Kett use to refer to them is eluding me right now. Anyway i hope that wasn't too boring. lol

    Hi, i'm a new subscrober and as such I would like to share the following.
    I have been playing Mass Effect since it's first release and I still feel that's this is the best Space RPG ever, at least so far.
    Mass Effect Andromeda 2023
    After over 4527 hours (EA numbers not kine) of playing this game, I finally realized why I enjoy it more than all the other Mass Effect games.
    It’s because of the multitude of diverse quests, projects, and personal interactions that one is presented with. None of these must be completed in any specific sequence to achieve an outcome. And many can be skipped altogether, which will not adversely affect the game overall. As a result, I find the game very relaxing and non-stressful to play.
    I will say, however, that my game is very heavily modified with 50 Nexus mods, which overcomes many of those complaints from those playing an unmodified version of the game.
    As a longtime ME player and fan with over 4527 hours of MEA single-player play. And still with only 99% completion of the game. I am left with many storyline questions.
    Questions that BioWare should be willing to follow up on at some point.
    Such as
    1: Why didn’t every Pathfinder get a scout ship? (Update, I found the answer to this in one of the books). I.e., Mass Effect Andromeda: Nexus Uprising Book 1 Mass Effect: Initiation Book 2 Mass Effect Andromeda: Annihilation Book 3
    2: Who is this Benefactor, and where are they now? (I have no definitive proof, but I know who this is and why they are not showing up in Andromeda.) Remember Project Overlord from ME2LE, if you will.
    3: Who killed or ordered Jian Garson killed and why? (Update, I THINK I know who did this from the book).
    4: Why didn’t the Kogan people get their own Pathfinder?
    5: Why is the Tempest not at least armed with defensive weapons? And with their engineering capabilities at this point in the game it is certainly possible regardless of what Cora says about how fragile the ship build is.
    6: Does the Quarin Ark Keelah se’lai ever overcome the pathogen onboard and regain control of their ark? UPDATE, I now know the answer to this one after finishing the book. But I will let the most dedicated fans find that answer as I did. (Spoiler alert), Cora Harper could never have become the Pathfinder when Alec Ryder died because to do so required that his replacement be one of his children for reasons that will be revealed when all the memory blocks are removed. That is why Sarah or Scott were the only options for this transfer.
    That is NOT the case with the other pathfinders.
    And finally, who ultimately becomes the leading member of the Initiative ruling body, replacing the current incompetent group? As well as other less essential story tracks left hanging with no way to pursue them. I love this and all the other ME games, but this one has always held my attention. And I am currently on my umpteenth playthrough. I am dedicated to reaching 100% completion of the game.
    PS for those that find several things about this game that they do not like. Try modding the game with Nexus Mods. I am running 50 mods with mine, and none is cheating. IMHO, modding is both fun and allows one to make the game more personal.
    I look forward reviewing all of your previous videos as time permits.

    • @paragonseven

      Welcome, thanks for subscribing! I love your enthusiasm for Mass Effect Andromeda, even if it's a game I struggle to get through. I've only completed 1 full playthrough of MEA, and disliked it the majority of it the time. That being said, I do want it to continue, primarily for a lot of the reasons you stated above.
      I've said this before, and I'll say it again: MEA had an excellent foundation and extremely poor execution, thus letting the player experience down. I'm sure the mods you've installed help your player experience greatly. I don't use mods for my games, but I do understand it would make the experience better. I'm excited for Andromeda to continue, despite my negative experience with it.
      Appreciate you checking out my other videos, hope you enjoy! :)

      None of the mods that I use are cheats, they are for the most part cosmetic or corrections for mechanical game faults, like making the Nomad function better overall, and a cooler paint job along with it never hurts. One takes that stupid raccoon makeup off of PeeBee and she is actually pretty without it. I also like playing with different armor looks as well. And of course, weapon modifications are always welcome. I also got Liham a decent haircut, I would kill him off if I could find a way, but alas, there is none. He along with Jacob in the Mass Effect series are two of the most useless characters in all those ME games, IMHO.

      I’m an old 77-year-old man living alone, and I have not owned a TV for over 30 years so this is my primary form of entertainment. I’ve always been a bit of a geek anyway. And this makes me focus and helps keep the old gray matter from turning into mush.
      I like your presentation and will eagerly participate, and offer commentary when I feel it’s appropriate and relevant.

    Another really enjoyable vid though I must confess it has taken me a few times to finally get through it! I really enjoyed the starting and then it usually loses me at the part about instantaneous travel between andromeda and the Milky Way and the ketos stuff before it engages me again more towards to the end!
    I just personally find the stuff about the characters of andromeda returning being forced and not very sensible for multiple reasons and not just because they weren’t very engaging or interesting at all.
    The crucible took multiple cycles to build- with each cycle being every 50,000 years where each of the main races at the time added bits to its blueprint in order to defeat the repairs and now that it’s finally been completed and used - and there are so many damaged mass relays around, now all of a sudden we’ve become experts on understanding wormholes and stable travel back and forth between galaxies and time and space! We also just happen to have a ship travelling 600 years towards andromeda in all this whilst we’ve become experts in 2190 (assuming the next game takes place 4 years post repear war) It doesn’t seem very logical at all to me and I do feel as if it cheapens the stakes (as does a multiverse imo tho many of your arguments are very well constructed for the theory) and especially to bring back andromedas main race characters back (krogan human Asari turian etc) seems rather bizarre to me for characters who weren’t particular liked much - however I could definitely see some type of dark energy plot and wormholes being a part of the next game but for me it could be to do with the more nefarious or mysterious races like the Jaardan who have links to andromeda or other unknown races who maybe using the space time anomalies or have become attracted to it post crucible use - the stuff you said about the scourge was interesting too - to me it would be more understandable if the more mysterious races had a better understanding of that stuff rather than humans suddenly going back and forth between time and galaxies imo.
    I found the lore about dark energy and entropy really interesting and how the Kett travel in regards to contracting space whereas ftl it to do with weight differentiation? - I really enjoyed that stuff!
    I have a feeling for the next trilogy - if there is one planned - that there may be some larger threat looming that may be related to dark energy potentially or the end of the universe or that the after effects of the crucible energy release as a bigger overall threat to the universe as in how the reapers were in the first trilogy.
    The reapers are almost like a myth early on whilst you deal with galactic politics to bring a universe together whilst being the new species on the block to fight the reaper threat eventually - there could be something similar this time around as in a dark energy or universe ending threat plot which may threaten us all again - this being the major threat (along with immortal type beings again who may also feel that we are the cause of it) - this could be the big bad that develops over the course of the next trilogy if there is one whilst we work on navigating a new order post reaper war and stopping civil wars etc of races - maybe even whilst searching for Shepard initially as Liara potentially - on a side not I would love to see like a story line about what happens when the krogans aren’t the most powerful brutes anymore - kind of like what If the Yahg or another unheard race takes that spot - how do the krogan respond - showing them go back to their more industrial days and working with other races - wrex will forever be my fav character - shoutout to javik too past the regular favs
    The Liara trip in the teaser takes someone with a real eye for detail to spot though it could be that you’re reading too much into it and it’s just the nature of the strong breeze which is why her hands are also shielding her face as she walks up the reaper from the snow - it could also just be the fidelity of the trailer and animations which are being shown off - I’m not convinced on her walking up a reaper requires her to instantly user her biotics or refrain from for the reasons you’ve suggested tbh!
    Anyway another enjoyable vid! Your enthusiasm is enjoyable both when I agree or don’t!
    Kheelah salai! Ps apologies about the essay LOL

      No worries, I appreciate the thoughtful post! And always here for healthy discussions, it's not about being right. :)
      Thanks for taking the time to come back to the video! It's definitely one of my longer ones, and is extremely physics heavy, so I completely understand the need to take it in chunks.
      Regardless if the Andromeda crew does return to the Milky Way, I am fairly certain something about wormholes will be involved. And like you mentioned, dark energy is going to play a factor somehow, it's just a matter of determining how exactly the ME team brings it in.
      The Liara trip could be just that (and most likely is), but I did find it weird after watching it back for the millionth time. :)

    Hi Paragon7. I got a crazy theory, probably not realistic theory. What if the Andromeda initiative never left the Milky way Galaxy. Perhaps that's why Jean Garson was murdered, maybe she realized they hadn't actually left but instead went to a different unexplored area of the Milkyway. I heard in a ME lorecast video that we've only explored 1% of the Milkyway Galaxy.
    That could explain why we received a distress call from the A.I. and it could also explain why the Normandy crew is walking around with what appears to be an Angaran. All those people were in cryosleep and someone could have woken up between certain cycles and altered the information.
    I should have done my own research on whether this is even possible, but I thought I'd get your opinion first then research it.

      I understand where the theory is coming from, but the Initiative people are way to smart to not recognize that they're in their own backyard.
      And in the trilogy, we explore basically all of the galaxy map (the entire Milky Way), and there's no strange black hole like Ketos randomly in the middle of it.
      I get why you thought this though, to make sense of the timeline and why angara are present. But I do think something like wormholes makes more sense.
      Appreciate you flying this theory by me!

    What if, the Scourge is crystalised dark matter. And the Jardaan were experimenting with it to hold the wormholes open, but it all went wrong because of the nature of the Kerr black hole? Dark matter (as far as we know) doesn't interact with ordinary matter, it doesn't emit any kind of radiation (hence, dark).
    Is it possible that the Jardaan invented a way to harness dark matter as a sort of radiation absorbing, self-replicating "concrete" to build intergalactic gateways out of black holes?
    Also, aren't Kett FTL engines more similar to Star Trek warp or Alcubierre drives than wormhole travel? The former deforms space-time to achieve superluminal velocities while the latter punches a hole straight through it. :D

    While I know it's not going to happen, I'd love a storyline that proves it turns out that we misunderstood what the Geth were doing with the Mass Effect relay... Not peering into Andromeda but peering into our galaxy's past through a dark matter anomaly that shows when it was in the location of universal drift that Andromeda is now. Either in the Geth's attempt to find a way to stop the Reapers, after all we find out that they knew more about the Reapers than Shep did in just the first convo with Legion; or in attempt to understand the dark matter issues that they also were studying on Haestrom. Somehow, the Nexus and Arks all traveled through this anomaly, all being sent back in time and finding themselves in our distant past (many, many cycles before the Protheans). I figure they discover this at the beginning of the game by exploring beyond the cluster to discover that the Kett hold the Citadel. A Cerberus agent discovers a weapon (likely the origin of the Scourge) and leaves a hidden message at a location he knows Cerberus would eventually build a base. In the present time for the start of ME4/5, albeit a few months before gameplay, the shattered remains of Cerberus attempts to modify a Mass Effect Relay to bring forward into time the Scourge as a means to dominate the galaxy (their motives never needed to be reasonable before). In an attempt to stop this from happening (again, still at the beginning of the game, though maybe not even actually shown but in backstory later), the crew of the Tempest (with or without Ryder) gets pulled back into our time. They then later in the game team up with whomever the legacy ME characters return and work together to stop Cerberus. Of course, things have to go wrong as they always do, maybe involving accidentally bringing the Kett into our time. But also, what Cerberus does also causes the final disruption that had been exacerbated (and "charged") by the Crucible.

    This does make possible sense if they go that route and there's proof of this already in mass effect. In mass effect 2 during tails recruitment and loyalty mission the subject of dark energy comes up. The star they talk about and are researching gets brought up a few times. They said stats shouldn't die that fast and wear puzzled by it. And when you go to illuim in mass effect 2 for the first time that undercover cop lady gianna I forgot her name mentions that a alot of people are intrested in dark energy research for some reason. This never gets brought up in mass effect 3 btw. So my 3 theories are let me know what you think. 1. It could be use as a faster way of travel speeding up rebuilding and as well connected both galaxies opening up a gold rush of sorts to claim new worlds of resources and potential colonies. 2. The dark energy that could appear here may be a new powerful form of what we already have possibly as a result of the crucible being used never has a energy source like that been unleashed on the galaxy. So it may be a like a race to collect this new power kinda like a arms race to rebuild and be military stronger than the other races sorta like a nuclear arms build up. 3 the dark energy being unlike could be a way of opening up time travel allowing us to explore untapped areas not seen or not yet destroyed or opening up the multiverse of mass effect and maybe dragon age crossover and maybe other ea properties like dead space and anthem?

    • @paragonseven
      @paragonseven  10 месяцев назад +2

      For your first point, I definitely think it's possible. I assume dark energy will be involved in connecting both galaxies.
      Your second point: very, very intriguing! I didn't consider dark energy being weaponized in terms of an arms race, but it would make perfect sense.
      Third point: I don't think they would do a dragon age crossover or other EA titles, but rather, keep the multiverse confined to Mass Effect. Dark energy might allow for time travel, but it would be a lot to expand the IP to include other franchises.

    • @superchug2469

    "...but I do play one on RUclips." That made me laugh! Also, I hope you're right in your speculations. This would be a great way to join the best of both the original trilogy and Andromeda in a way that doesn't require ret-conning or forced cannon endings.

    • @paragonseven
      @paragonseven  11 месяцев назад +1

      Assuming that the Mass Effect team doesn't want to retcon or canon an ending, this makes the most sense to me! And from the looks of it, they've been planning this since the release of Andromeda.

      @@paragonseven It's funny, I recently replayed Andromeda to look for story elements they might pick up for ME5, and I noticed how in the beginning of Andromeda all the Alliance characters kept referring to the Scourge as a "dark energy cloud" which made me think of Haestrom and the dark energy ME3 ending that got scrapped. Definitely not a coincidence. And here's another weird thing I noticed: The original plot for ME1 had us fighting an invading advanced alien race we would later learn had created humans relatively recently to make us slaves--their return would set off the principle conflict. Bioware scrapped that, but I keep wondering if they recycled some of that plot in the Jardaan storyline.

    This is not a complaint about your theory at all. I am more looking at Bioware and I wonder why the hell are they so desperate to Ressurect Shepard yet again? (Yeah I know, MONEY!!!) I mean they kill him/her off in ME3 regardless of ending to show that they were not afraid of making an ending with finality for Shepard.
    I am more understanding of Bioware wanting to use Andromeda characters and ideas again since they probably have a lot of cut ideas from Andromeda and plans for more games but since it kinda flopped they stopped with ME games for a while.
    I just think it would make Bioware look less desperate for an easy win if they tried something new again like with Andromeda as it wasn't the "real" new stuff that sunk that game.

    • @paragonseven
      @paragonseven  9 месяцев назад

      I think there's a part of the team that maybe just wants to write a story centered around Shepard again. Judging from Ryder's story (so far), there wasn't that same magic that seemed to follow Shep around.
      Could easily be a money decision, but I for one believe that they just miss Shepard.
