this looks neat but it seem a pain to have to open up the case every time the batteries need to be replaced

Nah they are just hand tightened and knurled so you can just use your fingers, no screwdriver needed. Easy & I'm guessing with the Nutube you get pretty excellent battery life.

@@crolodon8024 9 hours of battery life. Not pretty much, uh?

@@piemmetubo Eh not the worst but yeah that would be pretty annoying to crack this thing open every 9 hours of listening.

Is there a date for when we'll see these for retail? I still haven't seen the NTS-1 hit the stores.

I can't see the point of adding an extra amplifier and distortion in the audio chain after the equipment manufacturers have already spent millions of dollars refining their design to give the best performance. A software equaliser can provide boost and cut at specific frequencies far more efficiently too. What am I missing?

It's for headphones with particular OHM ratings.

@@GodsRockstarMusic There are MUCH LESS expensive Class A head-amps that do that job at a fraction of that price and that are much robust and better engineered.

@@piemmetubo I was just basically answering his question about the NEED of a headphone amp in this situation, I was not debating which one is better or less expensive.
