    Great info Tyler! Great point about treble hooks. I am an optometrist and coincidentally had a patient today who lost an eye to a 1 oz weight that came hurtling back from a snag. Eye protection is critical and night fishermen and women may not think to wear at night. Thanks for all you do!

    Literally ended up throwing a frog after dark tonight on instinct stayed out on the boat it the pitch black. Caught a couple on a black walking frog ... thought that was interesting.. Clear water very dark skies. First time really doing this, then came home and you uploaded this !! Haha awesome. Great timing man lol

    Love your videos. And some good advice on the treble hooks at night. I have been fishing night tournaments for years and am a real fan of blacklights and glow in the dark line. In the last few years Maxscent baits have become my go to lures at night. Also I like to doctor up my plastics with a q tip and chartreuse dye just dotting them up so they glow under the blacklights. It seems to get me more bites. Also some good things to have are a good head lamp, safety glasses and bug spray! Good luck and tight lines from Cincinnati...

    Great information, love night time bass fishing. I night fish from early May -late Sept and usually the only boat on the water most the time. Spinnerbait with the biggest Colorado blade you can find. Buzz-bait, Crankbaits, spray paint a old beat up crankbait black. 10"-12" worms, Manns Jelly worms with big body and paddle tail moves a lot of water.

    Tyler, love watching the videos. I've learned a bunch. I have a idea/challenge for a video. I fish once in a while. But I grew up doing it. I like all the gear etc. I'm mostly on my paddle board. It's 23" wide. So when I go I have one smallish flat Plano box crammed full of tackle. One rod and reel. That's it. You're head would pop off if you saw it. What I'd like to see from you is if you only had one flat box of tackle and one rod setup what would you bring. I try to cover too many categories as it is. And I understand it would change according on where you are. I'm in Ny 1hr north of the city. I'm in the Hudson River (dirt water) and the Croton River (clearer water) They blend together where I go. As far as what types of fish are here, Stripers, Blue Fish, Perch, Blue Gill, Sturgeon, Carp, Cat Fish. and others. Hope you or somebody will take up this video challenge. It would help me out. Thanks.

    So glad you did a nighttime bait vid. I love fishing at night and always looking for anything new to try. I totally agree with your bait selection as it right there with mine. And yes, the wobble head at night on points can be deadly. as much as I love Topwater at night, most of my bites this summer have come sub surface. For top water I normally throw a buzz or walking dark bait. however if it’s super calm, and it usually is, I can see where a black toad by itself, can be better. I’ve also had luck on the small black whopper plopper. thanks!

    If there is a full moon, color may make a difference because there may be enough light reflected from the moon for the bass to see color. However, on dark nights, color is not possible to be seen since eyes can’t detect color differences then. That is when only light vs dark can be seen, and fish would really be using their other senses to detect bait.

  • @CMDAVISs
    @CMDAVISs 2 года назад

    its funny some guys believe in using the same colors at night that they use regularly during the day , but more when the moon is out white can have more of an effect for say white to reflect off the moon. heck eventactical bassin did a video on it saying the same thing as you and its kinda interesting and im sure with diffrent water clarity and moon or any light there mater would make a diffrence. Im sure black is best in the darkest nights possible. Ive never thrown a topwater at night living on a lake that is strickly peirs i dont see anyone do anything but fish slow in sunken tree tops.
    Id like to find more ways to catch them at night with moving baits around peirs that go miles and miles close together and some far apart , Its a very simple oxbow the whole lake is almost the same and the only diffrence is the piers and whats underneeth them. very hard to throw a crank bait at night lol

    My nephew caught a largemouth on a hot dog. The only thing I can think of that would cause a bass to eat a non- moving hot dog is smell. So I would also add some attractant. Probably don't need it. But when our sense of sight is diminished our other senses are intensified, gotta think this goes for fish too
