G-11's incident report: "On Tuesday, March 19, 2024, I, TFC Antonio May, was driving eastbound on Interstate 30 in the left lane when I noticed a blue Dodge Challenger with an Alabama license plate A0A1416 in the right lane. The Challenger was following too closely to the vehicle in front of it. I activated my lights near the 15-mile marker but the driver of the Challenger failed to yield and began to flee. I advised dispatch and continued to pursue the vehicle, reaching speeds of 131 MPH. Around the 17 mile-marker, the vehicle then left the roadway into the median and began to pass an 18-wheeler. Once the vehicle veered back onto the roadway I then lost sight of the car. The pursuit continued up to the 29-mile marker where Tpr. Kari Alexander successfully deployed spikes, which disabled the front left tire of the vehicle. However, the vehicle continued to travel eastbound and took exit 30, then turned north on Hervey St. in Hope. The vehicle continued north on Hervey St. While traveling on Hervey St. the driver then collided with a black SUV causing severe damage. After colliding with the black SUV, the driver then turned left onto Compress St. where it crashed. The driver and passenger both fled on foot but were apprehended by Hope PD officers after a short chase. The driver was identified as Antony Griffin and the passenger was identified as Maria Baker. Mr. Griffin was taken into custody. He was transported to Hempstead County Jail and booked for Fleeing and Aggravated Assault (Felony). Reese's Wrecker towed the vehicle. Ms. Baker was transported to Wadley Hospital in Hope and was treated and released without incident. Alexander crossed over the median, at the Westbound weight station and began traveling East on the eastbound side of Interstate 30. I placed my patrol vehicle behind hardcover at mile marker 28 and set up spike strips. As the pursued vehicle approached, I deployed my spike strips and spiked the vehicle. I, Trp. Alexander, then recovered my spike strips, and attempted to catch up with the pursuit. As I approached the intersection of North Main and West Greenwood, I heard over the radio, that the driver and passenger of the vehicle had been apprehended."
As an ex firefighter I remember trying to deal with idiot drivers who blocked the path of the fire truck, my blood still boils when I see these idiot drivers are everywhere, even so called professional drivers in trucks don’t have a clue what they should be doing. There should be a way of recording license plate numbers and giving everyone who blocks emergency vehicles a fine.
Totally agree. I live in western Canada and no matter how busy major highways are a semi only is in passing lane to pass. Fines are steep and for emergency vehicles or construction sites speed goes down to 60 kms. Police lit up you have to pull over to right shoulder & stop. And 99% do.
I know a few folks that would be getting tickets in the mail mainly a little blue pickup at the stop sign trooper May just could not catch a break running him down NST and the Arkansas State Police is still the best
Man, there are some clueless people behind the wheel out there, and some thoroughly unprofessional truck drivers. No wonder Trp. May could not keep up.
No shit, that red semi doing the left lane hog should get a fine triple the normal amount for not yielding for the cop car!! The blue Ford pickup at the intersection lost in space!! Crazy...
The only thing I would love to see almost as much as the pursuits are the officers going back to their in car cameras and confronting the idiots that seem completely oblivious to the PD behind them
How about that blue pickup just sitting at the stop sign blocking ASP? WTF? And those 18 wheelers blocking ASP? Channel 19 was lit up about the chase and those truckers blocked the cops. No doubt about it.
I have to say that this is probably the most amazing show of piss poor driving on the highways I have ever seen on one of these kinds of videos. The number of professional drivers who simply do not use their rear view mirrors is shocking. It's a bloody good job I am not president of the world because a LOT of tickets would have been issued from this video alone. And that blue pickup. Nobody could be that clueless... That had to have been done on purpose. Tickets, lots of them.
The blue pickup was sitting there even before the Trooper came around the corner, so it may be just that they are just that stupid, and should not be behind the wheel. Should be camera-ticketed, seems to me.
It's amazing how inattentive and/or clueless some people are. If a vehicle passes you on the highway doing double the speed limit, first thing I do is look behind me. Chances are the police is already on it. Why are there so many idiots out there. Or how about the little pickup truck that didn't even try moving an inch so the trooper could slide by. Gotta give it to the trooper staying so calm about that.
This one had my blood boiling! It seemed as if the truckers were blocking the officers on purpose & later, dude in the blue pick up did the exact same thing, WTF, just sat there, not bothering to move an inch. I hope these officers file some type of charge for literally helping the criminal flee.
person in the truck probably just froze, my mom used to panic and freeze when sirens came up behind her. with only seconds to react and adrenaline pumping not everyone reacts in the right way, so lets not make everyone into a felon.
It always amazes me when I see the “professional “ drivers (truckers) sit in the fast lane even when not passing. They need to identify and issue tickets.
They should start reviewing the dash cams and mail a ticket to every plate they can read that doesn't yield. Send one to the trucking companies with time and location and they can tell which drivers they go to.
Trooper May was determined and hearing Trooper Alexander yale "spike, spike" was cool. Hope no one was hurt in the SUV. Great job by Hope PD in assisting Troopers May & Alexander. Enjoyed hearing someone telling Trooper May "good job". Arkansas Law Enforcement promotes teamwork. That is honorable. I also enjoyed hearing the reuion moments between several Officers, makes me smile. Great video and thanks NST. Awesome Pursuit Friday. ♥️🇺🇸🚑 Thank you. Blessings to everyone.

He had nowhere else to go..this is for all the people commenting on people that dont get out of the way..
@@NaturalStateTransparency Sure, but even if the violation was before that, the Trooper has quite a bit of time observing the citizen being fully compliant with the two second rule of thumb & speed limit. I could not count 2 seconds between the vehicles. It was a legitimate stop attempt, and who knows if he would have just issued a warning to drive safer.
I thought I overheard a cop saying it was a rental car. The ASP probably targeted the car because it fit their profile of a drug smuggler, not because it was traveling 100+ feet behind a semi.
@@bradschroeder809 I heard that too, but he would still need legitimate probable cause to pull him over. By the traffic code, he was following too closely, especially at that speed.

The trooper must have been bored because he certainly followed for a long time before deciding to hit him up w/ the lights and sirens. But the fool took off so the consequences are well worth it.
