    G-11's incident report:
"On Tuesday, March 19, 2024, I, TFC Antonio May, was driving eastbound on Interstate 30 in the left lane when I noticed a blue
Dodge Challenger with an Alabama license plate A0A1416 in the right lane. The Challenger was following too closely to the
vehicle in front of it. I activated my lights near the 15-mile marker but the driver of the Challenger failed to yield and began to
    flee.
I advised dispatch and continued to pursue the vehicle, reaching speeds of 131 MPH. Around the 17 mile-marker, the vehicle
then left the roadway into the median and began to pass an 18-wheeler. Once the vehicle veered back onto the roadway I then
lost sight of the car. The pursuit continued up to the 29-mile marker where Tpr. Kari Alexander successfully deployed spikes,
which disabled the front left tire of the vehicle. However, the vehicle continued to travel eastbound and took exit 30, then turned
north on Hervey St. in Hope. The vehicle continued north on Hervey St. While traveling on Hervey St. the driver then collided
with a black SUV causing severe damage. After colliding with the black SUV, the driver then turned left onto Compress St.
where it crashed. The driver and passenger both fled on foot but were apprehended by Hope PD officers after a short chase.
The driver was identified as Antony Griffin and the passenger was identified as Maria Baker. Mr. Griffin was taken into custody.
He was transported to Hempstead County Jail and booked for Fleeing and Aggravated Assault (Felony). Reese's Wrecker
    towed the vehicle.
Ms. Baker was transported to Wadley Hospital in Hope and was treated and released without incident.
NOTE: The crash was investigated by Hempstead County Sheriff's Office."
    --
    G-15's incident report:
"On 03/19/2024, I, Trooper Alexander, was traveling Westbound on Interstate 30, when TFC. May called in a pursuit with a Blue
Dodge challenger on Interstate 30 Eastbound. I Trp. Alexander crossed over the median, at the Westbound weight station and
began traveling East on the eastbound side of Interstate 30. I placed my patrol vehicle behind hardcover at mile marker 28 and
set up spike strips. As the pursued vehicle approached, I deployed my spike strips and spiked the vehicle. I, Trp. Alexander,
then recovered my spike strips, and attempted to catch up with the pursuit. As I approached the intersection of North Main and
West Greenwood, I heard over the radio, that the driver and passenger of the vehicle had been apprehended."

Totally agree. I live in western Canada and no matter how busy major highways are a semi only is in passing lane to pass. Fines are steep and for emergency vehicles or construction sites speed goes down to 60 kms. Police lit up you have to pull over to right shoulder & stop. And 99% do.

The number of professional drivers who simply do not use their rear view mirrors is shocking.
It's a bloody good job I am not president of the world because a LOT of tickets would have been issued from this video alone.

The trooper must have been bored because he certainly followed for a long time before deciding to hit him up w/ the lights and sirens. But the fool took off so the consequences are well worth it. Drivers of 18 wheelers should be heavily fined for not pulling over, the one w/ the blue cab and orange cab made no attempt when they had plenty of room to do so. They should have been ticketed for staying in the lane like some cars are pulled over. CDL drivers know better, if the Companies are fined I bet they will stop it.

This was a strange ending making me wonder if the Troopers report was not concealing something. Starting with the alleged "following too closely" Hard to judge distance accurately but while close was it too close worthy of a stop? Next the second Trooper just happened to be ahead, not unusual but in this case ready to deploy those spike strips. A little sooner than what is normal on YT videos and for someone fleeing a traffic stop? Not out of the realm of possibility but seems different. Then the ending that was a lot of law enforcement including the man in the dark suit, who were those in civilian clothes? To me makes me think of a federal operation to use state LEO to make the stop for a specific purpose.

You are probably used to seeing a dash cam from a Charger. A Tahoe doesn't have the same performance.

lol following too closely… don’t get me wrong, I might have missed a vehicle between th3 18 wheeler and the challenger… and I LOVE. The ASP. But, I gotta say that was a hmmm, call. Unless I’m wrong. Like I said. ❤ ASP

So let me preface this by saying I'm not condoning anything that happened once the lights were activated and the perp ran, however I will say the cop driving right on the back quarter panel of the challenger not giving him space to go around the semi and then using his following distance as the reason to initiate the stop is pretty ridiculous since he had nowhere to go due to the cop blocking him in.

The cameras only prerecord 60 seconds before the lights come on. What if the following too close violation happened two minutes before?

As much as I'm for law enforcement, "following too closely"?
They really pushed the limits on that call.

The camera only pre-records 60 seconds. The violation may have been before that.

@@NaturalStateTransparency Yeah, that's the way their bodycams work, but that was the dashcam, it's always running.
But I'll accept maybe that part was edited out and the guy was following too closely prior to when it started.

Following to close? I call BS. May was looking for an excuse to stop that Challenger. And then could't keep up, not ASP's best.

Either they assigned the slowest ASP cruiser they have to Trooper May or Trooper Byrd had the day off.
