- In 2017, I took my video camera along when the San Jose Sharks held a wonderful tribute night for the California Golden Seals that celebrated the Sharks NHL predecessors. My documentary on the team ("The California Golden Seals Story" is available on iTunes at: itunes.apple.com/us/movie/cal.... This bonus video is from the tribute night as I followed the Seals players throughout the evening.

still my favorite uniforms of all time..This is really great that the Shark organization had the respect and class to acknowledge the Bay area roots
My favorite uniforms as well.
This was a very classy thing the Sharks organization did for the old Oakland/California Golden Seals!
indeed ! cool to see that they look like they have been made honorary Shark players.
Still one of my favorite teams growing up and playing hockey. Loved their team colors and those white skates!
I was a goalie growing up in the bay area and Gil Meloche was my absolute hero. He was the best kept secret in the NHL. Faced 40 shots a night for one of the worst teams in hockey but never complained and rarely missed a start. Gary Simmons was also a decent goalie. He held a hockey camp each summer at a local rink and he was a very popular guy. Gary always seemed to get the worst starts against the toughest opponents. The Seals had to keep Gil healthy at all costs!
Nice! i loved getting hockey cards of Oakland/Cali Seals players....i think growing up in Toronto and not being familiar with Oakland was intriguing to me and my friends...Plus they wore white skates.
The original Oakland Seals uniforms were great! Way ahead of there time.
Awesome video montage. I remember Bert Marshall on the mid -late 1970’s New York Islanders teams. I was a kid then and I believe he wore number 6 on the Islanders - he had blonde hair but here he’s aged a bit and bald but great to see all the old time players back in the Bay Area
remember Crazy George coming up to Vancouver for the BC Lions and Vancouver Whitecaps games at old Empire Stadium. Great memories!
I remember going to a Penguins game; quite a few games and watching them play Oakland. Laughlin was on the cover of the program and a few yrs. later with Vadnais on the cover. It was either stick or puck night. Thank you for uploading the video. I am jealous of the tee shirts.
Laughton
@@michaelleroy9281 I stand corrected.
Oh I sure wish I was there. I met one of the seals coaches Vic Stasiac in Lethbridge, Alberta about 18 years ago
They probably signed more autographs more that nite than the whole early Seventies. Playing in Oakland back then musta been like playin in the tundra
Oh man, wish I could be there.... great job on the documentary, Mark.
Great video! I love it!
crazy george is still around!!??
It would be really cool if the Sharks brought the Seals identity back for a minor league team.
Do you remember the times of your life
Bobby Baun was a Seal
I want that luggage
The patrons received Seals jerseys upon arrival?
T shirts that looked like jerseys
