What goes into making a football legend? Kevin Sheedy, AFL icon and tactical genius, had taken his team to multiple premierships and changed the face of the game. But now, he is in the middle of the most outrageous controversy ever! What is it all about? And what led to these allegations? Let’s find out!
Kevin John Sheedy AO was born Christmas Eve 1947 in Melbourne and brought up in a tight Catholic family. He was initially playing football with the local Try Boys Society team while attending De La Salle College, in which future teammate Kevin Bartlett had also participated. He played senior football with Prahran at only 16 years old in the Victorian Football Association. Can you believe it? A teen holding himself amongst men!
But things didn’t go smoothly with Melbourne's team, so he returned to Prahran, shining in the club's Second Division premiership team in 1966. Did you know Sheedy also served in the Australian Army? Between 1969 and 1971, he rose to the rank of corporal before discharge. Who knew this football legend was also a disciplined soldier?
Fast forward to his coaching career, Sheedy's strategic mind was evident when he helped Richmond Football Club win the 1980 Grand Final. Then, the clincher followed: stepping in for Barry Davis as Essendon Football Club's senior coach in 1981. This heralded the beginning of a mythical 27-year career. You can hardly believe that some clubs had over a dozen coaches in that time while Essendon had just one. Sheedy took the Bombers to four premierships and went oh-so-close to three more. Talk about consistency!

You only have to watch the first 2 minutes of this complete and utter crap to see a poorly researched factually incorrect piece of garbage reporting. Soccer footage for starters. Sheedy did more to encourage, support and progress indigenous players than just about anybody in the history of the game. Not just for Essendon and the AFL but all over this big country. A coupe of disgruntled players making sensationalised allegations that have little or no basis in reality has become big business and basically gutter politics…..

Tell the truth Sheedy about why you dumped Derick Kickett and cost him a grand final. You created racism so much in the old days of football on and off the field. Now your lauded for your work against it. What shit…

Kickett had no case for racism, as Sheedy liked indigenous players because Michael Long and Gavin Wanganeen played in that Grand final
