We need more of this. The UFC should pay Rogan for this content, he makes people more invested in the fighters. Its easier to care when you "know" them. Next time Corey fights he will have a bunch of new fans who are truely invested and care about his sucess.
@@josevillegas9009 Exatly what I mean. Honestly before hearing his story I could care less about the man just another fighter. This podcasts lets us see the human in the fighter.

I went to wrestling camp when ben was at Mizz and this is exactly how he acts he taught me so much. It took me 3 days to get a takedown clean on him lol
Dudes story was epic .... and the fact that he married the receptionist is cool 😎 af like stories like that makes you think 🤔 life’s what you make it as long as you have a positive support system
Corey’s fight journey could be a movie, the reluctant hero meets his magical spirit guide (Ben Askren) and marries the girl next door (receptionist). With zero experience, and all heart, he perseveres...and wins the title, from the antagonist, the evil overlord of the division Jon Jones. Lol
😂😂 I’m picturing the poster for the movie in like some anime style. Jon Jones with glowing red eyes and a smirk in the shadowy distance while Corey, Ben, and his wife are standing together looking to embrace the difficult journey.
So sad for Ben how it all went for him! Feel he had talent for so much more. Had the 3 worst matchups, and still survived 1 of them! Bet he will go on to become a commentator, now. He's a clever dude! :)
Yep..you are correct sir...but I bet now that they are testing specifically for epo after it's got so much attention...Jones is shitting his pants.😂....i have noticed a few of the fighters that were posting non stop, and shit talking online, have went "radio silent" since T.J. popped..It blew my mind that they were almost never testing for that!!...Thats what Armstrong and alot of other dirty athletes were using!

Sorry to say it but ben is not on jorges level , it's going to be a bad day for Ben, jorge is too fast and Ben won't be able to take his leg kids and fast hands
@17carramirez first of all ben didn't beat rob , he won the fight due to a miss judged call from the ref herb dean , so he won the fight but he didn't beat robbie , and 2nd of all do you not know that jorge trains with Joal romero one of the best wrestlers in the ufc , I've course jorge can wrestle he could defend him self on the ground unlike some of the other strikers you may be talking about , don't get me wrong Ben's a good wrestler but he is just an average fighter other then that I mean he couldn't even out wrestle robbie and robbies a striker

He did come up quick for sure but 6-7 years later and he is still in the same spot because once your top10 there is nowhere to go really unless you are the top5. Def shows the LHW had no depth outside the top10 before but now they have more
Light-Heavyweight has been the most dead division in MMA for years, even Heavyweight was getting more new blood and changes. That's why i can't accept Jon Jones as being P4P, or Amy Flyweights and Heavyweights being P4P, the divisions are bare. 155, 170, 145, 185, 135, that's the core.
@@zombievikinggaming4258 I agree with that for the most part but LHW did have some elite guys. Sho-Gun, Rashad,Tito, Chuck,Machida etc 135 is only now really starting to get guys and 145 when Aldo ran it forever was not very deep. 155-185 is the Meat. 155-170 always have alot of top good guys because alot of guys fit that size. 185 is Deep also but if you look at some of the Wins on Silvas run some are Weak. I still put Jones up there. He is a cheater though so GSP is ahead of him and Silva cheated also so he is sketchy. Now TJ is a Cheat so its tough
Corey got really lucky and smart to get into the ufc when he did. The pool of LHWs he faced in tuf were sub par. Its good for him though because he didnt have to go through a line of tough dudes outside the ufc and potentially damage his longevity. Good for him, I'm a fan now.

the light heavy weight division of the UFC is possibly the most talentless division, not the most richly filled with talent joe. IMO. light heavyweight was the most talent filled back in the day around 2008 or whatever. after jon jones came he cleared out all the legendary old heads and then that division was done. now that i think about it jones really did destroy and/or retire about every big LHW name.
I'm feeling quite positive about luke (hopefully he can keep his hands up) , Johnny Walker and Thiago the thing is if Jon Jones loses a fight we can find out how tough he is mentally or else he will move to heavyweight ,but till that happens being ranked no.1 is the best thing a guy in LH can achieve. But I feel currently that MW, WW and HW are the most talent heavy divisions.
Nah he isn't. He used to live in my home town what you see now is hard work and sweat. When he was in highschool he was a failed H.S. wrestler no cap no lie.
