Neat Idea. Gotta try it. I use hot glue on arrow inserts, I have had insert glue fail. Hot glue has never failed on arrow inserts. And you can heat up the tip and remove it. Good I on the slip bobbers. I use pool noodles to jug with.
I have used those as well. We use to fish live bait for bass under balloons and I think some folks still do for striper. But I believe some states or waterways don't allow balloons now. I may be wrong on that but I read that somewhere.
I'll tell you the best cut bait that you can ever use and most people throw it away when they catfish. When you catch catfish, before you do anything, catfish cut the belly out with skin on it, and when you go put that catfish Billy on the hook make sure the skin is down, in other words the skin goes to the point of the hook first. Nothing all day bait don't care what you say, and at the end of the day it's going to take an act of God to get it off your hook.

I use balloons. They're extremely buoyant , easy to see , and basically set the hook for you 😎

I have used catfish as cut bait before. Never caught a small fish in it. Always 30# or bigger.
