I've just been given this printer and had no idea how to set it up. Glad I found this step by step video - I'm now linked up and printing wirelessly thank you
its only for the first time to establish a connection you can't allow the printer to connect to the internet using the printer alone as you can't even enter the network credentials also this is a 12 year old printer model newer versions don't need and third party devices to connect itself to the network
Absolutely LOUSY. You make a good printer - I will give you that, thanks. But the wireless connection issue is TRASH (and this has been ongoing hence the MASSIVE amount of help articles out there regarding this printer and the issues involved in making the wireless connection. Through the years, I have setup 3 of these now and I have ALWAYS had immense difficulty and this time I have not been able to overcome it and so I now have to use a loooooonnnng USB cord which I dislike. Get someone onboard who knows how to fix this on YOUR END.
Yeah this is a load of CRAP! I run the install and get the the screen to pick configure printer over the wireless network and hit next and the install window disappears and nothing happens. I can not get to the next steps as in the video to set up the wireless connection. CRAP....

I understand that you are having a fatal error "Object reference not set to instance of an object" each time I start HP connection manager. I will do my best to assist you. For those that have the same issue and that cannot subscribe to tech service, just ignore the error popup message and continue to the subscribe process (make sure to have the whole window displayed). You should normally end the process and after reboot connect to the service using standard network service provided by Windows 7 in place of the buggy HP connection manager applications. @@HPSupport I was finally able to get it to work. For some reason it didnt want to work with my Google Mesh routers. I turned on my linksys routers 2.4ghs band and that worked.
I should reset my router. And know what ? Again should I setup the wireless connection of this printer. Each and every time it's a real pain. I follow this setup process. Of course, all the steps were not as in this video Impossible to retrieve you wireless network. I selected manually. I entered the password manually also. Then, a popup windows indicated that my printer couldn't be configure to work on a wireless network !!!!!!!!!!!! It worked before I reset my router ! Come on.... I know, I will try multiple times the exact same procedure, and suddenly, it will work. But why oh why is is sooooo difficult ? By watching this video, I was expecting all the fixing problems in the case the "regular setup" was not functionning.

@@HPSupport I must apologize, I bought this used and have always used WPS to connect, but I have had problems recently when I had to change routers, I never saw that little cutout in the back as many times that I have looked in the book. Now I feel very stupid. Thank you, I was about to throw it in the trash, but I had just put a new cartridge in it. Thanks again.

If prompted for a password, type 12345678. This is the default password to log in. If you created a custom password and do not remember it, go to your printer to get the password. Press the Wireless and Information buttons at the same time.
