Automatic like for the comment…”most owner-ops just drive.” I most definitely concur with the statement because some don’t address uprising issues soon as possible. In that case, how do you expect the equipment to take care of you, when you as the individual don’t do the same for it? Hence the reason why a handful of older owner-ops still run they’re flawless 30+ year equipment, and the newer truck just straight to the junk yard after a certain period. They’re is definitely a change in mentality and responsibility between generations.
I know I might be out of place or maybe stepping out of bounds on this. But I think the only real things that matters is does the truck make you $$$$$ and do YOU like it. If the answer is yes then the truck is perfect for you and no other opinions really matter.
Well you're not out of place your just getting to the real point… but unfortunately everyone don't think like you.. Some of us really want to make sure we do our research for us to make the right choice.. This purchase will stock with you for years.. So no one don't wanna make the wrong move… 👍👍
I’m looking to pick up a 2012 Mack Pinnacle AMT MP8 engine 637k on the clock. Any things I should check out before doing OTR? Furthermore why are Mack’s cheaper then Volvo trucks I was checking out a 2013 Volvo semi and they are $25-$27k with 800k-900k on the clock. The MACK is $25k 637k.
Troy ntn don’t wrong with a use truck boss. Remember in ja, most of those trucks are use trucks and they running perfectly as use trucks. When you see them, they are like a new truck. When buying a use truck, you just have to know what is wrong with the truck before buying cause 89% of the time it’s just some minor stuff. Just like your Volvo and Mack etc, they all had minor issue. Owning a fleet of truck going make you want a kw or petebuilt someway along the line for your personal use but for now, keep focus on growing first. Those truck that you have are very fuel ⛽️ Efficient. Don’t listen negative person none at all cause they only want you to fail. God bless and guide you boss.
I like the way you reason and think that's inncoraging man thanks, that truck is supper👍 mine is 2012 Mack Pinnacle 10speed transmission manual, Mack truck is good man you made a good choice, the only problem am having with mine is that Mack has only one representative in Nigeria were you can get a good direct Mack truck parts and qualified technician, right now am getting fault codes like FMI 18,FMI 17 and FMI 2 and for me to get it fixed i will have to drive miles to get to the Mack representative office for them to fix it
If you didn't mind saying how much did you pay for the truck? I'm going to look at a 2011 Mack CXU613 tomorrow and a 2009 Mack CXU613 day cab. The first pick was the day cab because I wasn't planning on going back otr. The 2009 day cab has 763,000 without DEF and the 2011 sleeper has 825,000 with DEF. The price for both is $11500 but I have talked them down to $10,000 on the day cab. They both look good. If the sleeper runs and drives good I might think about getting that one because I can make more money otr. The place they are at is a Dealer, Diesel shop, and Semi junkyard. I have been going to this place for year's with an O/O I use to drive for
I know this is 3 years later but Mack trucks are still pretty good trucks to have MP8 engines are fairly reliable outside of the emissions system like any other truck being problematic, Mack is owned by Volvo but between the two they have differences and similarities, Mack is a big one in the garbage industry because the MP7 and MP8 engines just dont really want to die we have quite a few running up to 20000 hours with low issues and thats where i work in them, the MP8 is a decent engine for heavy haul but would not be my first choice, if you have the M drive trans like this video they hold up really well and Mack axles do hold up really good as well, Mack in the modern day just has a lot of reliable stuff that goes in a truck so it is a great choice just the only concern being engine power is all for heavy heavy loads, unless you somehow can get your hands on an MP10 they discontinued those in NA but there are still some left they sell them a lot in Australia, otherwise great and comfortable truck that is pretty reliable
I'm looking at a 2016 Mack right now, but it's kind of high mileage though it has 700,000 but it's decent priced though and it seems to be in good shape.
Hey i have that exact truck and year who would recommend taking the truck to for maintenance... there are very limited mack dealerships where i live here in Atlanta
I don't know a lot about Mack but other than the hood what is the difference between the Pinnacle and the Anthem? And are you running the Mack 12 speed auto or an Eaton manual?
