The Bird of Prey was originally intended to be a Romulan ship when we first see it in Star Trek III but the movie runners changed the bad guys from Romulan's to Klingon's after the Bird of Prey model was already built.
The name Bird of Prey indicates that as well, plus it has wings painted on its wings. It's also interesting that the ship seems to have been designed specifically to fit the story of Star Trek III. It's small and weaker than the Enterprise which makes it an even match since the Enterprise doesn't have a full crew. Small crew sizes also mean any deaths are a big loss, which made it possible for Kirk and company to commandeer the BOP, and also meant that they could run the ship normally by themselves.
@@shalomamigos It actually made sense to change the roles for the Villains in the movie "Star Trek III: The Search For Spock" as the Klingons were far more popular than the Romulans as Villains.
@@jamieolberding7731 I kinda wish we had a proper Romulan movie. Nemesis was more of a Shinzon/Reman movie, and 2009 was just one guy in a mining ship. The Tal Shiar would make terrifying antagonists.
Sadly, various Trek writers have no idea what's going on with the name origins, to the point that Klingon ships are referred to as "Warbirds" in the first Star Trek reboot movie.
Well done Captain.. or shall I say ''a Tal'Shiar'' spy... hmmm Now I know why you use the cloaking very well... ''Ved aoi'' to the ''Khe'lloann'mnhehorael'' empire!!! lol just saying!!!

interesting matchup really its a question of who can best utilize the cloaking device.
2:02 It's only because Sela was insistent on a color coordinated battle. She's one fashionable Romulan!
Just wrecked them right off the rip, cool replay 👍👍
The D' Deridex is a beautiful design, they should've used it nemesis.
Yeah you're not the only one who was kinda bummed that they didn't.
It should have been used in Generations instead of the BoP!
All I know is that those Romulan plasma torpedoes in STO pack on HELLUVA punch.
The warbird is so big it was blocking the view of the neghvar half the time lol
Damn, warbird came out SWINGING.
I always found the Negh'Var to be pretty underpowered for being the Klingon Empire's premier warship.
Please do a video of a romulan warbird vs Kazon big ship
Next time on cloak talk with martok🖖
kek
The ED was shown as being a match for the warbird in TNG. A Negv'her should squash it
The Neghvar should be a tougher out. They are a generation ahead of the D'Deridex and have a couple giant disruptors.
The Romulan D,deridrex war warbird is the finnist and most powerful
warship the Romulan star empire has ever build.
Ugh........ stalemate last time now u won as romulan =P
