Anyone noticed an issue with the volume? I've got mine turned up full just to hear it
Some others have mentioned this tbh but others say fine. Are you listening head phones speakers?
Connected my phone to my car audio and also had to turn both the phone and the speakers to maximum.

Eh I like being able to play it a little lower so I can sleep to it and turn it up higher if I'm awake to it and listening to it at the laptop or on the go. I'm not deaf so thankfully don't need it tooooo loud, but ye.

It took me awhile but this is actually related to that novel 15 Hours. No wonder the author and the setting seemed familiar. especially when the drpship arrived.
Edit: that farting burrping bit at 47:40 was quite a fun event after a big battle

Excellent narration and the story great too. However, it's sad but not surprising just how hopeless the situation is for all guardsmen. I was really surprised that Chalka was still alive after 17 years.

the "rubber drop pod" conversation was the best line in any 40k book ive heard and ive read/heard alot of them. they couldve made the punch line a little more than pg13 but we get the idea

Thankyou, this was a real treat and an excellent return to form! This one really drives home the dystopian horror of service with the Guard... TEN YEARS in theatre?! :O I can't imagine the relief cycle is remotely reasonable either - the story doesn't even hint at how many days they spend in this trench line before they get rotated into support (most likely in cellars in that ruined city) or whatever passes for 'rest' billets on this ruined world...

Have you ever played around with the various AI drawing / painting programs?
It takes awhile to get used to it, I’m still messing with them.
But you can make custom pictures of your own images to your stories.
Type in the description of the Lieutenant and I bet you could get a pretty good idea of what he would (ish) look like for the story.
They can be tricky to work with. I was making a picture of a soldier on horseback waving a flag with a bull’s head picture (or some such description), and it made a picture of a horse with a cows head, a multi-fingered cowboy wearing a helmet with a giant brim on it, and waving a distorted American flag. So, that didn’t work out.

I was even more surprised when they were able to repell the orks.

And you're back right around the right time as I get back into painting (got a 3d printer, more or less was just using it instead of other hobby stuff during spare time the last two or so months, so got a giant backlog of various printed minis now to get back to painting). So back to painting and listening to some of your and other audio books. More fitting listening to 40k or such stuff when painting 40k minis after all.

Serious question. Is this Border Prince guy a trained actor or something? The audio is super professional. But… when he talks in his normal voice he sounds like a legit Northern Monkey, the kind who populate Greggs bakery and say barm rather than bap (like civilised humans do).
i dont live that far north, buts its a border area of Mercia so bap, cob and roll are used interchangeably
