    Nice selection, I have several. I would mention that D100 Dungeon and 4Against the Dark are MADE for solo and are pure awesome. I would add to your list Forbidden Lands. Low on price and volume of books. Excellent quality of books. Setting and design are suited to solo.

    • @CRP-Waltteri
      @CRP-Waltteri  6 месяцев назад

      D100 dungeon and 4AD are indeed made for solo but I would not classify them TTRPGs. But I could actually make a list of solo RPGs that could be played and are as good as TTRPGs. For example I love 5 Leagues from the Borderlands which is a miniature adventure skirmish game.
      Forbidden Lands is definitely a good one! And it also now has the solo rules so really fun to play a hex adventure!
      Very good recommendations overall here!

    Great list! I would also recommend a FKR game called Kismet. It’s very rules light - only one stat and that’s it. It’s great for RP anf for those who don’t like the rules in their way

    • @CRP-Waltteri
      @CRP-Waltteri  6 месяцев назад +1

      Cool! Sounds like katanas & kimonos or lasers & feelings! I will have to check that one out.

    • @Mantorp86
      @Mantorp86 6 месяцев назад

      @@CRP-Waltteri the funny thing is that Lasers&Feelins is more chrouchy than Kismet. In Kismet you don’t have HP or stats. You just have some descriptive things that helps you with RP like how do you act or which weapon you use or even if you have an item based on your character. All is decided with a d20 roll. The next action to succeed must be higher than your previous roll and that’s all the mechanic. It’s a really great system to play written adventures because all rolls are player facing and there are no monster stat blocks. It’s really fun. There is also an expansion that suggests how you can add chrunch to the game like stats, HP and other stuff.

    Great list. I've been wanting to get into TTRPG's for awhile now, but I simply don't have the people to play them and I'm just not comfortable playing with strangers online (it is the internet after all), so I've been hunting around for solo play instead. If you have anymore recommendations, I would love to hear them. Keep up the good work.

      If you want to get started with roleplaying games I suggest looking into Dragonbane!
      I have a video of it in my channel and there is also a lot of play material about it in other channels as well.
      I would start with that, I tried to make the video as beginner friendly as possible!

    Definity an interesting list, I've only heard of Mausritter and EZD6 mentioned but never really looked into them; looks like I should!
    A Heroes of the White Tower series would be fun to watch, plus it is always helpful when the creator of a game has a lot of guided game play that we can use as a reference! It would be awesome to see both you playing the game as well as a "How HotWT Plays?" video in my opinion.

    • @CRP-Waltteri
      @CRP-Waltteri  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah! And it would be fun to play the game and ask feedback from you, my audience as well about the system and what in your opinion worked and what would you like to see more.

    I've been thinking about using EZD6 for solo play. Everyone will have their own preference, but I like something simple that doesn't require you to memorize a ton of rules.
    I think another great game that lends itself well to solo play is Fate, because it is very focused on the narrative and characters, and is quite simple once you understand Aspects (which seems to be a bit confusing for some).

    • @CRP-Waltteri
      @CRP-Waltteri  6 месяцев назад +1

      What is good about fate is also the different versions.
      If you want skill and little bit more spesivity you can go with FATE core and if you want even lighter and more "vibe" you can go with accelerated.

  • @SATURNATIC
    @SATURNATIC 6 месяцев назад

    Cortex Prime is also a really good system if you guys want to play a variety of RPG themes, it's extremely easy to create enemies or challenges on the fly as both are just made up of a bunch of dice.

    • @CRP-Waltteri
      @CRP-Waltteri  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah. I see Cortex Prime more like a tool box, just like GURPS is but being more leaning to narrative gameplay rather than simulationist.
      Cortex Prime is very universal as well. I might do a list of universal TTRPGs at some point.
      To be fair I have never succeeded in using cortex prime properly, there is just something that I can't really wrap my head around and I do not know what it is.

    I might be wrong but don’t you need Runecairn to play Cairn solo (truly solo, no other PCs in a party)? Great suggestions, I definitely want to check out Pirate Borg!

    • @CRP-Waltteri
      @CRP-Waltteri  6 месяцев назад

      Runecairn is its own game with its own mechanics. I think runecairn has its own solo support, but you can play Cairn solo just with an oracle you do not necessarily need Runecairn.
      But runecairn is also pretty dope in itself so good shoutout!

    • @CRP-Waltteri
      @CRP-Waltteri  6 месяцев назад +1

      I'll see what I can do about this! I haven't played Blades in the Dark, but I have played Band of Blades and Scum and Villainy which both use forged on the dark system so the system itself is familiar to me.

    • @michaelthorne1445
      @michaelthorne1445 6 месяцев назад

      @@CRP-Waltteri I'm learning scum and villainy. I find that setting much easier to really get into the game mechanics. With Blades, I was distracted by the setting to the point of not fully learning how to apply the rules.

    Advanced Fighting Fantasy seems interesting. I was thinking of trying something like Tunnels and Trolls. Don't know if they are similar.

    • @CRP-Waltteri
      @CRP-Waltteri  6 месяцев назад

      Kinda yes and no:D.
      I have a minimal touch on Tunnels and Trolls but I know their combat is kinda similar:
      In both games both combatants roll their attacks at the same time, and the winner deals damage to the loser, I know that in tunnels and trolls the damage is the difference of the roll, while in Fighting Fantasy you still roll damage roll and armor roll to determine the damage.
      Don't know for T&T but at least In FF there are kinda like different moves that you can also do during the combat. So it's surprisingly deep even tho it's just a roll of and the winner hits the loser.
