The loonie (French: huard), formally the Canadian one-dollar coin, is a gold-coloured Canadian coin that was introduced in 1987 and is produced by the Royal Canadian Mint at its facility in Winnipeg. The most prevalent versions of the coin show a common loon, a bird found throughout Canada, on the reverse and Queen Elizabeth II, the nation's head of state at the time of the coin's issue, on the obverse. Various commemorative and specimen-set editions of the coin with special designs replacing the loon on the reverse have been minted over the years.

The loon dollar 1987 was intro duc to replace the 1973 dollar bill, ( not the silver dollar ). The silver dollar was removed in 1968 to be replace by the nichel dollar
still produce to day for mint sets.

I just sub'd you the other day and like the Toonie I am surprised to find out the lowly Loonie has some valuable pieces out there floating along/around. Looks like a visit to the coin books are in order eh. Right now I am hanging on to every 2022 as that sad time we lost our queen E. All the non colored pieces are easy to find in a beat up state but the colored versions are scarse and really hard to find unless one lives in Ontario or Quebec. I am in Northern BC. Getting recent coins in good condition are/is a rare thing. Thanks for the shout to "Coins in Canada". I am sure I will like what it has to offer. Apmex gave me a bad experience the first two times I dealt with them so in self and pocket preservation I will Never deal with them ever again !
I’m not sure that the 2017 loons were issued In individual rolls for circulation. I got mine from the classic set that year.

I have a question. By error, which I have learned that there isn't errors happening to me, only blessings on disguise. So, I have those two rolls from the 2021 colored loonies. Would I get a higher value if I send them to PCGS, or it wouldn't make a big difference if I send them to be graded locally ⁉️⁉️

I got a mint sealed roll of 2021 coloured Klondike loonies for $55 from coins unlimited when they were new...how can each be worth hundreds already? Also as of now coins unlimited sells each of those coloured Klondike loonies at $ 2.25 a piece
mint sealed rolls in Canada the grade on those are considered at MS -63 or mint state 63 if you catch one early in the circulation process you can still find one in MS-63 GRADE however if you do not want to wait $ 2.25 each is not a bad price as long as that price includes shipping anything more than that my advise would be catch one in circulation
