Thank you
you got it 💪
Came here from Asmongold's reaction video!
Subscribed. Thanks, was an eye opener for me!
Where is the video mentioned around 6:54 with influences of "Blade of the immortal on souls"?
I could not find it on YT under the titel.
By the way, if you are looking for new content:
"Bleak Faith Forsaken", the souls like game, has references to the Manga BLAME!
I now understand why I enjoyed killing the baby skeletons with the black knight greatsword so much
Lol yeah... :)
The "Greatsword" which you can buy in Sen's Fortress looks extremely similarly to Guts' sword during the Golden Age.
Thanks for sharing!
Yes I'm role-playing as guts now with a +15 greatsword and I love it
All artists are inspired by each other but it’s only seen as progression if the “borrowing” artist uses their inspiration to make something new - which Miyazaki has done. Just like Picasso said: “good artists copy; great artists steal”
Agree! Thanks!
5:30 that's such a classic Souls moment
Yeah! Lol... :)
To me it feels more plausible to say that Taurus demon is more inspired by the Minotaur in general. Which i wouldn't at all be surprised to find is the inspiration for Zodd anyway.
Thanks for sharing!
Yeah, Zodd has to have inspiration from the Minotaur for Sure
Zodd’s form is actually more inspired by the manticore iirc. Basically a giant mammal with leathery wings (and other details that vary based off of interpretation).
Not just the manga, I have another evidence of Artorias is Guts reference : In the game Berserk Band of The Hawk when you reach the story where Guts active the berserk armor, his attack is EXACTLY Artorias's spin attack, and more aggressive
Thanks for sharing! I have not played that game. It's good to know. Cheers!
great work!
Thank you! Cheers!
Great job!
Thank you! Cheers!
I really like berserk, I like this video and channel, I subbed!
Awesome! Thank you!
It's crazy to me just how much both Dark Souls and Elden ring are basically just Lord of the rings but with Berserk characters mixed in.
Berserk was heavily inspired from Elric of Melnibone as well. I believe Miyazaki even credited them.
Thanks for sharing! :)
Even the boss fight drew inspiration from berserk. Guts most of the time fight apostle in 2 phases. One with humanoid form, then apostle form
Agree! Thanks for sharing! Cheers!
The whole New Londo city is a reference to when Schierke invokes magic to flood a Town when atacked by trolls. She goes atop the church and invokes a god called "The Four Kings" to flood the town. Considering in darksouls you encounter a hooded npc atop the church in New Londo, and the whole city was flooded, and the boss under it is called the "The Four Kings", i see it as Miyazaki being very forward with another heavy reference.
Thanks for sharing, I remember it as well.
you forgot the balder armor set inspired by the golden age arc and the smaller greatsword in DS1 is inspired by guts's first sword in the series not the dragonslayer
Thanks for sharing! I might include them in a future video. Cheers!
The firekeeper at firelink is a mute and locked in a cave like casca
Thanks for sharing!
Im always down for berserk x dark soul lore thank you sir ❤
Thank you! :)
I'm role-playing as guts in dark souls using a +15 greatsword, and it looks like Guts original sword !
I do wish the Taurus Demon reappeared in DS3. I’m surprised it didn’t become a regular enemy like the Capra Demon does. Maybe they thought it was too big to be a regular enemy? Idk.
Ornstein and Smough being based on the Mantis and Beetle definitely seem likely. I’m just surprised 2 iconic characters are based on 2 characters that didn’t even get names.
Thanks for sharing! :)
It is a regular enemy in DS1, there's quite literally a huge army of them down in Lost Izalith.
Even though I knew a lot of this its a very great collection of cool interesting facts! I hope you get 100K subs from this like the Diablo Guy did.
Thanks for the kind words :)
Everyone ignores the fact that Banhart of jugo sits EXACTLY LIKE GUTS
Hahah :)
I believe you somewhat missed the sword you create with the soul of Gwyn. Which is basically a Dragonslayer sword.
Thanks for sharing!
It’s worth saying that the entire New Londo Arc of Dark Souls 1 is a massive Berserk reference. With Beatrice (Schirke) you fight the four kings, meant as a stand in for the Godhand.
New Londo also resembles the ruins of Gaiseric’s Kingdom.
Mirroring the discrepancy between it being destroyed by four or five angels, there is actually a fifth, secret king beneath the boss arena functioning as the boss’s health bar.
New Londo is one of only two places you find red eye orbs (Behelits.)
Rickert is in New Londo.
You fight Sif on a battlefield reminiscent of the Hill of Swords.
The Masses of Souls in New Londo evoke the blob monsters in Conviction Arc.
Also, there are four direct references to Guts’ swords.
1. The Greatsword, which looks like his Golden Age sword.
2. The Cursed Greatsword of Artorias, a black and white greatsword used to fight spirits.
3. The Black Knight Greatsword, a massive black blade specifically used for hunting demons.
4. The Greataxe, described as a veritable mass of iron.
Amazing input! Thanks for sharing! By the way, we have Beatrice in the latest video. Cheers!
Very in depth, I can dig it
Glad you liked it!
came here from asmon, great video bro
Thanks for the feedback!
Also here from Asmon, this is a great video also really appreciate the Berserk chapter references. Hope you get more upvotes!
Thank you!
Can we talk about how the erdtree, elden beast and some of the concepts are reminiscent of attack on titan
Are you a fan of Attack on Titan? I'm a big fan!
May i ask what's the background music? it's feel so peace.i love it
Souls of Fire, from Dark Souls OST :)
@@dondonrv Thank u! my hero!!
Zodd is a behemoth from final fantasy
Yeah! Looks similar!
Bro I came to you're channel because of Asmongold. Already like your channel. Subbed.
Thanks for the kind words! I truly appreciate it.
i find it sad that the video of Asmogold can get 450k views by just existing, and saying yeah to every point, your video covers most of his screen, your music is there, you did everything, and he is going to argue that somehow this helps you and you shouldn't complain. at least he could give you a little bit of help and not watch 100% of the video.
Thanks for sharing! It shows your concern for the channel. I'm grateful that Asmongold watched my video in public; that, for me, is the reward. In the same way, I have the mindset of being thankful that I can create these videos and share them with all of you. That, in itself, is already the reward. The increasing subscriber count and views are just bonuses and a way that the universe is manifesting that the channel is becoming more ready to be known by a larger audience.
I agree, especially when Asmongold's title is "I found everything Dark Souls took from Berserk".
No he didn't, he WATCHED a video where SOMEONE ELSE (DonDonRV) actively found and compiled these references together into one video.
It's extremely disingenuous.
I am sorry if this may sound corny but I teared up as the music played elegantly while you spoke soothingly to us.
Insane that Asmongold practically reuploads your video and gets nearly 400k views, yet you're sitting here with 11k
Lol.. I'm just glad I can create these videos... and the upcoming future videos too.
Honestly screw reaction channels.
What's the name of the song in the background.
Souls of Fire, from Dark Souls OST.
@@dondonrv luv you man.
Bazuso looks more like Horace from DS3 than siegmeyer
Thanks for sharing!
Why Zodd looks like Akuma?... Or why Akuma Looks like Zodd?
Hey, Great Video. i knew Dark souls got a lot of inspiration form Berserk but i didnt how much before, but i have to say some of them are a bit of a stretch.
TBF i havent read Berserk yet but The Great Feline is literaly just a big cat, just because there are a lot of references doesnt mean everything has to be from Berserk
and dual Bosses like Ornstein & Smough ( one big slow Enemies and one fast) are not uncommen in Video games. I think if they wanted to make O&S a referance to mantis and bettle they would have made there armour more insekt like.
Thanks for the feedback! Cheers! And if you get the chance, give Berserk a try.
I disagree, just based on the fact that SO much is inspired by/taken from Berserk, it's kind of silly to assume that other bits aren't just because they're common elsewhere. It's pretty clear Miyazaki has a special place for Berserk and has HEAVILY taken from it to inspire his games.
Guts!!!!!!⚔️🐺🇯🇵❤️
Came here from Asmongold's reaction video!
Thanks! :)
@@dondonrv I think you sshould comment on Asmongold's video, so people can notice your channel / content.
Asmongold bagging half a million views on this channel should be criminal, I don't even watch that goof and youtube reccomanded his video instead of the original and I'm a considerable berserk fan ffs
As one of the characters in John Wick said, "Such is life." Asmongold has a very large following and can gain huge views on his videos, regardless of the topic. So, I'm thankful that he watched one of my videos, helping my channel in a way to be known by his fans, who might also be Berserk fans. My channel reached 1k subs the day he shared my video. It might not be a lot, but it helped bring awareness. Cheers!
Bruh you sound like Thorfinn from vinland saga lol well good on you for seeing it as positive, I still think it's a negative thing that those huge streamers can get away with stuff like this. I don't mind reaction genre I just expect more from the reactor than just "mmmms" and "yeahs"
