Thank you for watching my video. I hope the 5 stages covered in this video helps and motivates you to start conducting art workshops if that’s what you desire. Please do share your experience and let me know if you do something different so that I can learn and implement. See you!
Thank you so much for all the advices. I wanted to conduct workshop but I was stuck and had no idea how to start But this video motivates me. Thank you again.
Great advice. Simple, concise and encouraging. I am getting myself ready, though it will take some time because I am not very conventional and have just moved across the country. Plus I have a tiny abode and need to find a space that would work for a class…I don’t even have room for a table for two, much less for a guest. But it will happen and I am ready. This video confirms it. One thing you mentioned that I haven’t done is to practice-I’m going to take your advice and find someone who is brave and hasn’t painted before and ask her to be my first client, and then I’ll have a gift card for her for a coffee shop or something. I know she will leave with a fun memory and a wee painting but I also want to let her know I appreciate her and mean it to be professional. That said, the ideas are now rolling and I am encouraged. Thanks so very much!
Great idea to do a practice run with someone :). Love the gift card gift! I have been wanting to run a little art workshop to use up some art & craft supplies I don’t need :). Hope your first teaching experience went great!

This is very informative, love your content simple and straight forward. exactly what I was looking for. I want my 6yr old to start an art workshop for kids this will really help us get started. A fan already, good luck
I get stuck on how much to charge. Charging low is an incentive for people to sign up, but then I am cheating myself out of income that I could be earning. Charging higher might scare off prospective students, which then does not result in making income either. What is a reasonable fee to charge students for instruction ... setting aside material costs? Thank you ahead of time for any pointers.
Depends where you are located and what other artists are charging. I would suggest that you do some research. I am in Amsterdam and I charge 45 euros for 2 hours. I also take care of art supplies etc. Hope this helps.
Hello Mam, Thanks very much for such an informative and inspirational video. I have few questions if you can please answer and give guidance. I am a self taught acrylic painting artist. and I am thinking to start my own painting teaching classes for kids. 1 - Do we really need any certification for that ? 2 - What should I teach in first class ? If I choose age group 5 to 10 yr old kids , should I start with a painting or just start with paint an apple or like that ? 3 - Is it ok to do classes in my house basement ? 4 - How much should I charge for one class /an hour or 2 hours ?
Hi Rinki! These are very valid questions. Thanks for watching my video. Please see the response below: 1) You don’t need any certification for conducting art classes. It really depends on how confident you are in teaching. 2) I think for your first class, you should choose a simple subject like an apple or a banana or a flower. With every class you take, you will gain experience in teaching. You will become confident and then in your subsequent classes, you can teach landscapes etc. 3) Yes, you can teach in your basement. 4) I am in the Netherlands. I charge 45 Euros for 2 hours. Art supplies along with coffee is also included in this price. I am assuming you are in India. 45 Euros is around 4000 INR which is too high for India. I think you can charge around 2000 INR. But I recommend you to search around and see how much other artists are charging. I have been away from India for 7 years and really don’t know how much artists in India charge. Hope this helps.

Hi , one question I am currently living in Canada and I am masters in fine arts from India do i need any license to start workshops in Canada ? Please guide and advise me.
Mona Ma'am , Firstly Thank you for making this detailed video, my name is Akshay I'd like to compliment you as a person, You look very pretty and beautiful and you have a beautiful home , looks grand and posh. Secondly, I have a few concerns to put across and I may require your help here please, i.e. I too intend to conduct art classes, but its been a very long time since I've even practiced so right now I am completely out of form, but I was thinking of starting to teach little children from age group of 5 to years old ( your thoughts on it please ? ) , my confidence levels a very low, I've been pushing this desire of teaching and procastinating since a long time now coz of my skills and confidence, how do I go about it ma'am? where should I start from, please advice. Thank you for your help and advice, Have a nice day.
Hi Akshay! It’s nice to hear from you. Thanks for your compliments. Ok as I understand you want to start teaching kids but you haven’t been practicing for long correct? What I would suggest is first start practicing yourself. What medium do you paint with? I also don’t have any experience with kids and in the future I want to write and illustrate children books. Since I don’t have kids of my own and I don’t teach kids, what I am trying to do is volunteer in a museum to be with kids in the studio. This is giving me a good understanding of how to deal with kids. You need to find something like that where you get experience of dealing with kids. Teaching adults and kids are two different things. I think teaching kids is harder than you think. Hope this helps! Feel free to write to me with further questions.
@@monafreyart Thank you ma'am, With regards to medium I am just a jack of all and master of none 🙂, I did try enrolling myself as an art teacher in a few places , I was willing to work for them for free and a trainy but I was rejected the opportunity, Yes I completeyl agree that teaching kids could be really challenging and that's where I tend to get more worried and nervous, Let me confess, I recently lost my day job and I have no source of other incomes, couldnt find myself another job either yet, which is why i felt I want to drive my passion of getting into making and teaching art. Good to know about your intentions of writing a book on teaching art to kids, I wish you all the very best for all your future endeavours , both , personally and professionally.
