This transformation I remember when u first started your game, it’s improved so much!
Just a tip I learned at Uni. If you want to add some easy details like smoothing to the edges of your meshes without actually doing it, you can make a higher poly model and then using substance painter you can bake those details into the low poly one via a normal map. It basically has no effect on performance and makes your meshes look cleaner.
I’m always impressed with these updates. Really inspiring stuff that you wanted to make a racing game so you just…did it. Keep up the great work, I follow these updates closely!

i dont know if this is still a solo project, but regardless your time management is on point. ive done a bunch of unity projects where i thought "hell yea, ill release some devlogs in a couple months and see how this does" just to never release anything about it and eventually getting stuck on stupid things. i would get hung up on things i shouldnt have even considered until late late beta (assuming those project ideas had any success in the first place, its like focusing on the shiny cool looking stuff when the rest of the game concept isnt fleshed out). I dont know how to put it in the right words, but your investment in what aspects you are actively changing are really intelligent, and dont seem to lead you into development hell. not to say the car models dont look good (they are freaking mint honestly), but i love the fact they are low poly, look like their respective real counterparts, and arent super graphics intensive. this is a very inspiring project, thanks for sharing.
sorry, just saw the end with the shout outs to the modeler. great work as well dude, these cars look amazing! you did an incredible job recreating the body lines on a fairly tight polygon budget, and it reminds me of those insanely detailed lego kits modeled after real cars. awesome stuff guys

@Hazardous Add a map where there and stunt jumps everywhere and you can do crazy trickshots, in the map also add a button where you can set a checkpoint and return back to it so you dont have to drive back to redo the trickshot,

Bit of decoration idea for the driftjump: make it look like the road broke down there and maybe add a few road cones, warn signs and that kind of stuff
The game is looking awesome so far!
A few things I personally would like to see:
- Car customisation (I understand this can be difficult to implement if the car modeler feels that it's too much work, but it would add lots of content and personalisation to the game)
- A togue map (I mean.. duh. (unless you've already made one and I've missed it, or you're working on one now)
- Wheel support (very far fetched and may only even be considered post launch, which is understandable, but would be a very fun mechanic!)
- Weather & day/night system (Ex. being drifting on a rainy night would be cool. And even cooler if the weather affected the handling (if you're willing to work on that. It could just be a decrease in grip or something))
- Online (perhaps you're already working on it, but I feel like drifting games become so many times more enjoyable when online)
- First person camera & a replay mode
Of course these are just what I'd like to see so take them as recommendations, but I believe they would add lots of content to the game and make it overall more enjoyable. But the progress you're making now is fantastic and I can't wait for the full release!
Thanks! The first 2 are already in progress, you can check out the customization in the previous video + I mentioned a togue mountain map I’m working on :) Day/Night will be available and some weather on certain maps. Steering wheel support I’d love to add but it can be hard to make it feel right!

Feel like it would be fun if you put a ring ramp around the roundabout so you can jump over the hole in the middle and continue the drift
Also since the track is inside a giant volcano it would be sick to have one of those hot steam holes in the ground so that it would look cool in slow mo and cinematic mode

Hey Hazardous, congrats on your progress! Thanks to your video's I've gotten inspired and tried UE5 as well! I've been involved in modding for over 15 years for the mother of all sims, Grand Prix Legends, and thanks to you I've now taken the leap and started creating. I tried Blender for the first time too, using the same CG Geek tutorial I created a '64 Ford Mustang and was able to import it into the game! I got the car to flip over too, thanks for the pointer hahaha. I got the Mustang to drift okay today, but the transition between drifts is still too violent. Also the car still flips over too easily and it feels unnatural. If you have any pointers for these issues I'd be grateful!
Are you going to add a DLC (Downloadable Content) feature into the game? I'd love to be able to add my own cars and tracks (apart from the beautiful track builder) to the finished game!
Your tracks remind me a lot of the old Megarace 2 from back in the day. The v0.3 Desert stage barrel roll is a dead ringer for the one in the E.T. level from that game. A lot of fun!
Also got a 1:14.9 on the v0.3 Desert stage today. The alpha is already a lot of fun! I'd love to see another demo soon! Take care and thanks for the inspiration

Just like the swinging arm you talked about you should add clipping point which is basically a box where either your front or rear tires are supposed to drive through just to make people try to get closer and closer to the walls.
Honestly great game bro. And it is made by a youtuber! love it♥. your dedication is whole another level. You don't even need to advertise because your game will be so good when it launches.
Now some suggestions I would like to give :
1)Adding an upgrade system to the cars
2)Adding tuning for cars (like in Need For Speed Unbound you will be able to tune the sound, Grip to drift, and the parts for varing handling example: off road tires, grip tires, drift supention drag suspention so on..)
3)Adding multiplayer
4) adding car classs and so that the car can be upgraded to next class
5) adding garage
honestly I think I am asking too much. Give me a heart if you think these suggestions are good.

-Customization for grip/hp/max speed etc.
-Players can make their own body kits in the steam workshop
-multiplayer mode with local servers
-expand racing. The Maps look more like racing tracks and i would love to race in this game.

Hey, a fellow UE5 dev here: do you have a mechanic to reward the player with a higher score, the closer he is drifting relative to the guard railing?
Maybe even with special railing only. Should be achievable using two line traces from the front, and to from the back. If one goes below a certain distance, it can be used as a value to multiply the score. 🤭
Tbh, a 5 cylinder engine slund would be awesome.

You should add a waterfall under the jump coming from the mountain!
You could add a waterfall in the jump section of the map, it would be cool
you should make a map where it really matters how accurate you are - super tight rights, or unforgiving cliff edges with no barriers

I'd love it if you added an option to make the smoke denser so it's more like Assetto Corsa, the smoke there is so dense and it just looks so good

Looking like some really good improvement. The only thing bugging me is the front wheels. It looks like the car is understeering as soon as you're not at max angle. Front wheels should smoothly "follow" the angle and direction the car car has. You can look at CarX for an example, that's one of the things they did well.
This is another thing the upgrade to 5.3 will help with as well :) Trying to add that type of counter steer in the current version will act too much as ”traction control” and auto brake the car. So I’ll be tweaking that as well!
