My motivation is for preparing for a major exam! But I must say, thank you for that hack for reading ebooks. And for how practical you made each and every step you explained. That was just what I needed! God bless.

Plenty of other books to read. I don't want to waste too much time on one book. 😂 Now i have kindle i finished a book +/-390pages, within 3-4 days. Looking for ways to increase the reading speed. 👍

There are so many great books out there and more added each day. My TBR pile is huge. I'm not retired so I need to make a dent in this pile with my spare time.

Talking about information, I prefer non-finctional books over other info means, as several times, book authors undergo research and have insightful professional experiences (though with book publishing becoming easier, my mindset is slowly changing). Reading a book is like taking the "exact" words one-on-one from the observer rather than some intermediate receiver. That direct first hand info inspires me to read more and more books.
Having a highly curious mind, I aim to read specific book at times, and finish it in an hour or two. I cannot wait for the curiosity to fade off, especially in a world full of novelty.
Talking about fictional books (love them the most), I'm more interested in the author's perspective, which requires to read the book first and complete it asap.
I've tried speed reading course 2 years back my speed went from 100 - 400. But now its 100 again. It takes me a month to finish a 300 pg book (10 pages a day).
I was thinking of taking course again. But with your 5-day challenge, I'm motivated :)

I've reduced the space BTW lines and put the screen on horizontal. It helped me a lot ! We lose time jumping from one small line to the other .

Hi Louis! Thank you very much for making this video. I was aware of speed reading principles in general, but unsure on how to apply them on a Kindle. So thanks for sharing your methods! You seem like a great guy!

Dude, I don't know what it is about this video, but it's working for me. I've seen some of these suggestions made elsewhere and tried some of them, but the confluence of all of these at one time (the tongue thing, the visual tracker, peripheral vision, etc.) has made a huge improvement in my reading speed in the last week. It feels like a superpower. Thank you!
As for my reason, I just want to get through a lot more books. There's tons of things I want to read and I don't have a lot of free time. I love reading, I've never had any trouble reading, I've just never been fast. My wife reads unbelievably fast. So this is going to allow me to get through a lot more of the stuff I want to read.

To get through a fantasy series faster. So reading a 4000+ page would normaly take me about a month or more. I'd like to cut that down to at least a week and a bit.

Isnt there an option on e readers to speedread where it only displays one word on the screen? I would actually get into reading if that would be a thing

E-ink screens don’t refresh very fast, so they wouldn’t be very well suited for that application. You might be better off finding an app on a traditional touchscreen, like a Kindle Fire or iPad.
