Thanks for covering the women's races. They're conspicuously missing from some other channels. Women's cycling is such a burgeoning sport, the field is so tight, and the races are exciting. Supporting these badass women is important!
I guess not all channels have the rights to use video material. And they might think it isn’t cost efficient to try to compete with channels who have the right to.
Puck was 5th in 2023 Strade, her 2nd and last road race in 2023. In 13 total (ever) race days she has 9 top tens. She is no fluke and to date has spent most of her time on in CX and MTB.
Great to see Pieterse make an impact. She has a lively youtube channel during the CX season and she seems like she is having a lot of fun. And that is on top of being a savage on the bike.
Also good in Mountain Bike I think. 2nd in the olympics to Pauline Ferran Prevot? I think there was another French woman who was also about as young as pieterse who was 3rd on the road for much of the race before crashing late.
I loved this race today, and so happy Puck Pieterse won. Also good to see Kasia being strong today. The rest of this TDF is going to be interesting with these talented cyclists.
Feels like those highlights are for people who want to “watch” the race but don’t want to really watch the full hours long race. They should do two edits, a condensed race and then true highlights
I remember that Pieterse said last year, that road cycling was a bit boring for her. But she has probably changed her mind since, which is lucky for all of us because she is such an big talent. I am a big fan of her
@@Draregkoeliekalie yes it is. But at least Pieterse can make the races entertaining for both herself and for the viewers to watch , with the way she is racing
It was fun to see Puck had to hear through Demi's coach she was the winner and how happy Demi reacted to that. Puck is doing the tour just as an "in between" (Olympics and World championship mountainbike) and this shows how talented and strong she is.
couldn't feel her legs and didn't know where the finish line was, I think her mind slipped into jelly mode. Good to see cycling keeping up with its odd ways, as usual.
Looks like they didn't make it quite into Liege centre as no sign of the wall to wall cobbles of Liege and the fact that the city has been dug up due to the tram works plus St Mary day celebrations! Great race and commentary thank you.
If you watch Pieterse in cyclocross and mountain bikes, she is only interested in being in the front. I don’t see that changing on the road. She races against Ferrand-Prevot and Fem van Empel, who are monsters, she’s smart and will not be intimidated by anyone.
Is PucK Pieterse the women's equivalent of Tom Pidcock, in terms of type of rider? Both have that mtb/cx background, they're small compared to other classic riders, and both seem like possible gc contenders if they put they wanted to go that route.
Pieterse has the talent - - some of her racing choices in last year or so haven't been that good imo (all-out attacking style but sometimes poorly timed)... but this stage was a great showcase of both her power and tactical nous.
Wow youngsters from women's cross field are showing up on the road. Good performances from van Anrooij in the classics and then now Pieterse. Okay van Empel, no pressure. Take your time to adjust. 😅
Ooh, maybe this one will actually win! Kinda Jonas a few years ago moment. "I had good legs every day". Meaning a Tour de France is a bit too easy for her, huh?
Faulkner winning if she goes off the front with 32kms to go? Disagree, just look at the size of that group. They'll be able to reel a time gap back if they let her go off the front for a hot minute. EF could still play disruptor tactics with two other teammates in the group if that did happen though which worked out for them in an 80km(?) solo win earlier this year.
@@JanneBernards Yes, but her main goal should be to defend the Maillot. Not risking too much, not burn out before the mountains. Therefore, it is fine and Pieterse did clever and was strong on that stage.
Another TDF stage not in France? Ok, something needs to be said about the name of this race. Great analysis as usual. Puck road like an experienced champion. Did Demi need to win the race for her GC standings? Could she have let Kasia go a little longer? Big move in the standings for Kasia from 43 rd place to 3rd!
I think that is a present for the Dutch crowd as Dutch female cyclists are so strong. I think it is a way to create a lot of advertisement and publicity for this race. On top there was Olympics so French police might be happy for some days off and the French people as well. However, as there are anyways only few stages, it is time to enter France now. l'Alpe might be a big thing such that French cycling fans will be pleased. Hopefully, next time there is more of France crossed. Massif Central or some coastal stage would be nice also a final in Paris would be a burner.
@@hugoyoung4890 Uncomparable - yes, they have also extraterritory starts an stages and it is also vor marketing, but it is never almost half of the stages.
They never do that. You can't close off a whole train track for an hour or longer. That would wreck the entire train schedule and leave hundreds or more people stranded for hours.

Honestly appreciate how good your coverage is. Concise but in depth analysis. Thanks for covering the women's races as well.
Even at the most selfish, women’s cycling analysis is more cycling analysis for fans and should always be welcomed. Glad LR sees the value
Totally agree!!
I'm not surprised how punchy and fit Puck was today, but I am definitely surprised at how crafty she was. She raced like a wise old veteran out there.
Like watching Vos from 15(?) years ago. Great maturity both in the race and the interview afterwards
Glad for Puck, been banging on the door for a win throughout the spring races. Fun rider to watch, always gives it a go, bit like Ben Healy
didn't know where the finish line was 😂 really nice to see a new exciting rider coming through too!

Dygert crash!? on a wet day!?! unbelievable!
met puck at the time trial here in rotterdam, so lovely. Massive talent, well deserved win
So deserved!! From heartbreak at the Olympics with Mountainbike, to winning her first tour (and road!) stage!!
Love Puck and her crazy red mane! She’s soooo strong!
Puck absolutely bossed it, congrats!!

Yeah Puck is great! I love the way she rides in cyclocross, she's a beast. Still gutted for her olympic mtb race. That woman can ride a bike!
