    Excellent work, I was about to do the same, but had some doubts before starting it, but now after watching this vid I feel more confident that it will work in my case too

    Hi chief, can you please let me know why or where these cracks cone from? Ive sanded from 320 grit. Its like spiderline cracks…

      @captaintheodore  11 месяцев назад

      The plastic cracks with the heat of the elements. If your doing it by hand start with 60 grit. If you’re using a machine 80 grit is perfect and just work your way up.

    Hi, love the video. I've been looking for solutions to sun cracks and I think this is the closest to actually solving my problem.
    Quick question though, for the sand paper (planning to do it by hand). Should I use Aluminum Oxide or Silicone Carbide?

    • @captaintheodore
      @captaintheodore  3 месяца назад

      I don’t know the science behind the sand paper if I’m being honest but if your doing it by hand I would suggest 60grit to cut faster on those cracks and just work your way up

    What exact sander are you using? Is that a mirka 5.0mm?

    Ceramic coating should keep it looking like new right???

    can you use standard drill? (drill/hammer)

    • @captaintheodore
      @captaintheodore  3 месяца назад

      Yes a drill is better then doing it by hand

    I’ve only seen replacement lenses on eBay, not sure of the quality

      That’s another great option if you feel comfortable opening them up.

    Can you sand the inside of the headlight lens instead of the outside

    • @captaintheodore
      @captaintheodore  Год назад +1

      I wouldn’t recommend doing that because that means you have to remove the lens from the light and usually all the imperfections are from the outside from all the elements of driving everyday.

    Hey man
    Thanks heaps for the video
    Recently took tint off my headlights and saw I had this under it, and couldn't find much online.
    I have a small palm detail sander, do you think I could use that or hand, if I don't have a better sander?
    Cheers

    • @captaintheodore
      @captaintheodore  Год назад +1

      Any sander is better then doing it by hand. The key is being patient. Start aggressive with 60 or 80 girt and work your way up to 3000 if possible 5000.

      @@99TnaigEciYou’re Welcome. I’m glad I’m able to help. I notice the cracks on my headlight but it was not yellow or hazy. I couldn’t find anything online to fix it or to see if it was even possible to fix. But it’s definitely easy to fix. Let me know how it’s goes. Cheers buddy 🙏🏻

    Do you think steam will do the job aswell?

      I’ve seen a couple videos but never tried it myself. In my opinion 2k clear is the best way to do it but the compound is the only thing I had at the moment

    I plan to repair my lenses with clear plastic primer and clear coat on top.
    I noticed I was getting swirl marks from using a drill for sanding, even after hand sanding the last grit at 800. Do you think the primer or clear coat will cover up the swirls?

    • @captaintheodore
      @captaintheodore  3 месяца назад

      If your going to use clear coat I could suggest the final sand at 1000grit
