Imagine my excitement watching the Olympic Update trailer, seeing an orchestra, seeing YOU conducting the orchestra, and then finding out you co-wrote the music they were playing. Divine (pun intended).
So much of this- especially where the flutes sort of pop in really brightly or when the brass sneaks back into your attention- remind me of moments from Leonard Bernstein’s Mass in just the best way. And this, as well as mountain of the gods, reminds me of so many pieces of Tchaikovskys nutcracker. the first time I heard the Olympus music I had to just stand Melinoe still and listen. I kept running to the surface just so I could hear it! I’d finish a room and just stand still and feel completely blown away. I died so early the first few times because of it, and was so sad that I’d have to go all the way through to hear it again! The dialogue between different sections is so fun and lively, and the transition between different moods and energy is flawless and exciting! I don’t know what is is but this music just FITS with the snowy setting. Cold and clear and crisp, and at the same time intense as befitting the story and alternating between determined and thoughtful just like Melinoe. Grand, like Olympus, and frantic yet composed like an ongoing siege at a standstill. So many voices that can represent so many gods, so many rooms, so many weapons, so many choices that all come together to get to this peak! Truly, one of if not the best thing I’ve ever heard.
Oh my gods… I had already started to make an arrangement in a software based on what I heard because it was so beautiful, and I wanted to play the main melodies.. now I don’t have to!! Incredible work on this piece. (PLEASE POST THE OTHERS IF YOU CONTRIBUTED TO THEM TOO)
You both absolutely nailed it guys, the tracks feel like Hades, but also feel absolutely GODLY thanks to the orchestration. Quite fitting for the mountain of gods if you ask me.
OMG! I wanted to play this music on my trumpet since the first time I fought Prometheus in the game! So happy to finally follow the correct notes on paper! Thank you so much, to Darren Korb and to all the music players for blessing us with this amazing piece of art!
Ok, I found this song on RUclips after the update I got used to listen to it while working on my channel - I can't stop: now I'll use the original from your channel. When it'll be on Spotify will be on my year recap top 3 for sure. Love your music, good job mate.
As Noted? :O That's huge thank you for uploading that, I will study on it as it's such an inspiration. It's a vibe I don't have much experience with in terms of composing but I will need it so I will do an analysis and take notes to get better. Amazing piece of music.
wow seeing the music in notation had me noticing details i didn’t notice with my ear only! i love beautiful touches and riffs y’all have added to really round out the piece- you can really feel the sense of movement and elevation and evokes exactly what the game needs of it! So so excited to hear more from your collab!
Amazing, as always Austin! I love that you provide the scores as well. As an aspiring composer myself, it really helps when trying to learn from the best 😁
Man I love the whole game soundtrack, but specially I love this one along with Doomed city and Song of the Sirens. It's just incredibly well done, love it.
I learned the whole thing by ear this past month just for you to post the cheat codes now!?? For real though, this piece is incredible. Knocked it out of the park - It's so good it made me cry.
Wow, this was absolutely amazing! I want to let you know something, Mr. Austin: I had been listen to this song since it was released on the Official channel, and I've been loving it! It's such a unique composition, with the combinations of orchestra and rock music altogether on one piece(not pun intended) - and it was so wacky, with a time signature that only the God of Time Chronos himself can understand easily...Combined all of those, and you got an amazing song! Also, will we get an "As Noted" version of Wrath of the Heavens(Which is another piece that I absolutely adore from Hades II)?
P.S: I don't know if you have seen this, Mr.Austin, but a while ago, a streamer/drummer who goes by the name The8BitDrummer had played along to both of your pieces(Wrath of the Heavens and Olympus Aflame) - and he really liked them! I'd love for you to see his first reaction to both of these amazing songs: ruclips.net/user/liveGbHUBC7WpDU?si=H0BQuJ_jUFfQae31
Always wondered the details of the choir bits! Super cool to see it written out- helps to find those specific parts to take in more detail! So beautiful!!
I’ve been waiting for something like this! I have no ounce of musical talent at all, nor can I read notes but wow I absolutely love this piece and getting to see the notes is wonderful, genuinely one of my favourite pieces of music I’ve ever heard!
Darren deferred to me entirely on the details of the orchestration, and so early on I suggested we flank the orchestra with trumpets. Double down on the whole "Olympus" concept :). He loved it so it stuck!
Love to see this... i buyed "The Devil Went Clubbing in Georgia" because i love the composition and energy , and also love Hades 2.. nice to see someone to share tastes, keep up the work man!
It's a treat to get to see the score for this. The piece goes delightfully hard in all the places where it's used. Fantastic work to you and the players. Fingers crossed that this isn't the last piece for Hades 2 from you fine folks!
“Olympus Aflame” has strong Kid Icarus Uprising vibes. Where “Wrath of the Heavens” has God of War vibes. Basically two Greek mythology games that couldn’t be any more different.
Jesus, Abbey Road truly is the most beautiful room EVER, and has the best engineers placing the mics too ofc! Sick writing, looking forward to the full OST. Btw my dream is to work with you as an assistant one day, love you Austin!

This might be the soundtrack of the year when the game launches. This is an epic masterpiece!

Wow thank you! Such kindness!! I can only echo your words re: the game and writing. Supergiant are amazing
I'm Speechless 🔥💎
Man this brass is ripping. Bravo to the players
Those London players ... on another level

I had to google it, but I know now what an aulos is. (I pray to God it’s never a Wordle word!)
I love this video so much! Thanks for sharing.

Love your music, good job mate.
What a treat! It feels like Led Zepplin harmonized by Hans Zimmer, it's so powerful and captivating... That's one hell of piece!
As Noted? :O

Perhaps my favorite track from Hades 2 so far. Love to you, Austin, from the PNW!

8 trumpets is actually insane !! Awesome track. Would love to know who came up/proposed what.
Darren deferred to me entirely on the details of the orchestration, and so early on I suggested we flank the orchestra with trumpets. Double down on the whole "Olympus" concept :). He loved it so it stuck!

I have no regrets for paying for this soundtrack.
