  • Testosterone levels in men have been steadily declining for the last 70 years.
This matters because there is a strong correlation between testosterone and chronic disease (T2D, CVD, etc.) and mortality risk.
Over this time period dietary recommendations have been to lower fat (especially saturated fat) and increase polyunsaturated fat.
The switch from a higher fat diet (with higher saturated fat; P/S-ratio 0.15) to the lower fat diet (with P/S-ratio of 1.22) results in reduced serum concentrations of:
    Testosterone
    Free testosterone
    Androstenedione
While the declining testosterone levels in men are multifactorial (i.e. impaired sleep, xenoestrogens in food/environment, inadequate sun exposure, etc.), the quantity and the kinds of fat we are eating play a significant role in this decline in testosterone and overall health.

Cool. This aligns with the decrease in metabolism towards torpor when PUFA is consumed. In regards to T, this may be why we see lower T in people with slower metabolism/higher BF.

Can we also tack on the massive amount of fibre ingestion and its effects on SHBG? High fibre (such as in a plant-based diet) is not a good idea in almost every given way.

Couldn’t agree more..when I focus on getting more saturated fat in my diet (butter, coconut oil, full fat dairy) I feel 100x better, stronger and libido is soooo much more alive! Sad people think saturated fat is still harmful…🤡 world

    Other studies say opposite

Then the other studies are wrong. The case is clear, as soon as we switched from animal fats, meats, organic products and plastic being a stranger, low-fat diets have rise and STRANGELY, testosterone started to rapidly decline as these changes occured. Believe what you want but the case is strong, a man from 200 years ago would wreck any man living today and guess what they were eating

Nope. Pineapple increase testosterone n parsley also etc..olive oil too. Mediterranean diet works . Going to Italy lol

@@Charles-tv6oi Pineapple does not increase testosterone, no scientific research evidences that. High fat diets, like mediterranean, have been known to have positive effects on testosterone, thats a fact, yet Im unsure where he denied this in the video?

@@Charles-tv6oi However there's a big fallacy in the mediterranean diet, regarding meat and "healthy fats". Canola oil isn't a healthy fat, neither is flaxseed or any seed oil at all. Olive oil IS a healthy and positive fat. Red meat is amazing and you should eat daily, not "Springly". The common pyramid for a med diet is upside down, Paleo is king, the way we are meanh to eat

@@FlawyClips Mediterranean is mostly plants with small portions of meat n not always red.
