I've had an iD44 for years now and the only thing I'd wish for is a rackmount version. It's been solid since day 1 and it's very versatile if you want to DI instruments, use inserts, or go straight into the back.

I've been using an iD44 as my main interface for the last couple of months in my home studio space and honestly the send and returns for the pres alone has changed my entire workflow for the better, but also I noticed an immediate improvement on my listening and recording from the pres and convertors. Literally cannot recommend it enough, even compared to some of the much more expensive interfaces I've used.

I had an iD14 years ago I accidentally blew up by plugging a Black Lion Audio Auteur MKII mic pre adapter to it, which happened to fit perfectly. The headphone section sounded impressive, and I have dedicated DAC and headphone amps. I still think about it years later. I have an SSL 2+ and its headphone outputs also sound fantastic...probably better, but I won't know.

I don't get this brand at all it says I can have a bunch of inputs but the device itself only has way less. It has the spidf and Dante connectors but there's no actual sockets for mics or guitars to use Im assuming I have to buy some other box with the physical jack inputs? Kid so how much is that going to cost. Then how do you control the volume on these if im right? So you really only get a few inputs for the price and have to spend way more money to add inputs as they are not built in in a usable way? Am I right? or is there something im completely missing. Seems like false advertising if im right. Like you have a 4 wheel drive car but it only comes with 2 wheels or something crazy

Word of warning - I owned this unit for only a couple of years ( c 2016 or so ) before it had a fatal meltdown. I did quite lot of digging around and found a number of other users in the same boat at the time. Audient customer support was nonexistent, which I was quite disappointed to find.
I really liked the ergonomics, driver was good, and the mic pres do live up the hype imo. I was ready to go get another one but opted to go with the Focusrite Clarette, mostly due to the poor customer relations. Hopefully Audient has changed their manufacturing QC in the last few years.
