You are about the first person who actually tells us the names of the plants as you pass them by, and I mean all of them..Thank you so much. You have a beautiful garden.
Thank you. I'm glad you appreciate the extra effort 🌿. I know I want to know plant names too.

Thank you for your well wishes. I’m sorry that you did not receive my earlier reply. I must not have hit send 😟. I love hearing from viewers, so thank you for watching my channel and commenting 🌺🌿🌼
I just wanted to say that watching your garden gives me such a cell and peaceful feeling. I don't have a house or garden, but I just watch your garden as a therapy in this stressful time. Thank you and your husband!
Thank you. That is very nice to hear. Our garden is our sanctuary; we're so very happy to share it with others. All the best! 🌹
I love your garden and you have given me some great ideas. And the turtle stone art is gorgeous, what a lovely gift.
I hope to see more video's from you as they are informative, no shaky camera and I appreciate the fact that there is no annoying music in the background.
Thanks! Glad to hear the video inspired you. Also, fantastic feedback regarding music, etc.

You've done such a great combining of the right plant/tree at the right place. What a thoughtful gift from your husband. It brings an uncommon touch to your delightful "narrow" space. Enjoyed your video!

This is really really beautiful. I keep looking at this over and over, who would say that such space can be transformed into one of the most beautiful gardens
That is truly a complement. Thank you. With limited "real estate", treasuring every square foot is important. It's all about diversity through varying layers, shapes, textures and colors.

I truly appreciate it that you called and by plants name that helps me to understand if they love shade or sun
I am so glad you appreciate that. Your encouragement is kind.
Oh thank you for sharing this! I have a narrow back yard. I was explaining to my son that I wanted to create a pathway at one end of it to the side yard, planting along the way. Trying to create a English/Cottage garden feel. Narrow, but I think the path would be charming and inviting. I don't want to have a 8 foot wide strip of grass! Thank you again!
Glad you found inspiration!

Your climbing rose is stunning. I love how magical this space looks with the winding pavers. The selection of greenery and white flowers against the vivid pink roses truly highlights the beauty of each of these flowers
Thank you. It was a very good year for the William Baffin rose. I'm glad you noticed the winding pavers as they are meant to be very casual, hardly noticeable. But, they serve to slow the visitor down and have them look downward as well as upward. I'm glad you enjoyed the video!

Oh my zone4. I thought zone5 was bad enough. :) Beautiful garden Rosanne! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Zone 4 can be a challenge, but I found that by increasing the mix of trees, shrubs, and hardy natives in the garden has allowed me to be indulgent (on a smaller scale) with plants that need extra care such as Calla Lillies.
Love those stepping Stone, beautiful garden, I bought 4 astible plant late in the season hope they survive the winter. Your white one looks great and thanks for sharing
Thank you and good luck with your astilbe!
@@RosannesGarden I love your garden! I want to share, Every year for years as my Astilbe looses it's color I simple take a paper plate or newspaper to hold behind each bloom and I spray paint the green past blooms. WOW! What a beautiful little space!
Thank you! I'm so glad you think so. ☺️
Love this tour. Very inspiring. Love your husbands turtle. And enjoyed the rabbits. My favorite is definitely the many flowering plants that just pull you along the path! If you had early pictures of that area, to see how it had evolved...it will be helpful, as so many people just want what you showed immediately. A bit of history shows it takes time and patience to have a filled out luscious garden space. 😍😍😍
Glad you found inspiration! Thanks for your suggestion. I will keep "before and after" pictures in mind with future videos. It's always a tough trade-off between making the video longer or providing more information. Here's a link to a blog I did on the turtle and one on the rabbits:

I love the garden walkway with the turtle, that is so neat. I've been wanting to try the tiarella also. Thanks for the tour, beautiful garden!
Thanks! I was inspired by Japanese gardens for the turtle. The tiarella bloomed all summer. Now, I just have to see how it overwinters.
I planted some Tiarella in a very shady spot, and it does really well. I actually need to thin it out (it likes to spread a lot)

Perfect! I'm so glad you found the video helpful. ❤️🐇 too.
Great example of multi texture planting. Thank you.
Thanks! One of my favorite contrasts is the big leaved, chartreuse hosta (Sum and Substance) against the dark green of the Arborvitae. I do that elsewhere in the garden too.
Beautiful! Thank you love.
You are welcome. Thank you!
Perfect, thanks. Just what I needed. We too have very narrow side gardens, and the nursery person where we purchased most of our plants from gave some good advice too. So, two and half years on, our plants (mostly in pots) look quite healthy and lush, and strategically placed to give an illusion of more space. Your gardens are beautiful and peaceful.

Wonderful ideas and tips regarding plants to have in a small space from the peonies to the apple tree. Wonderful!
Thank you very much. I'm glad you enjoyed the tour!
Thank you for showing us around your garden. It’s a beautiful garden. I love everything about it including the lovely stepping stone path. I have lots of roses in my garden but I’ve never had those Japanese beetles you mentioned. I don’t think we have them in the UK. We do however have Lilly beetles which are bright red. I had lilies for several years and they filled my garden with fragrance when they bloomed but I dug them all up due to these beetles completely ruining them.
On another note I have a beautiful climbing rose called Zephirine Drouin. It’s very fragrant and flowers all summer and it’s still got some flowers on it now (end October 2019), but a big plus is it’s completely thornless so perfect for an area where people are walking by. You can buy it from David Austen Roses. It’s almost the same pink as your climbing rose which I must say looks gorgeous.
Thank you! I love the Zephirine Drouin rose, - it's a beauty. Because it is listed as hardy to USDA Zone 5, it might struggle where I live (USDA Zone 4). Our winters are super harsh (temperatures can go as low as -29 degrees to -34 degrees Celcius). Fortunately, my climber, William Baffin, was bred in Canada and seems to be OK with our winters. Yay.
Too bad about the Lilly beetle! I am not aware that we have them here (for now.)
I had the great pleasure of visiting your fine country early this summer to see gardens. Digitalis were everywhere and so gorgeous. When I came home I promptly bought and planted a few plants. I enjoyed them for most of the summer.
Rosannes Garden Hi Roseanne, thank you for taking the time to reply. I can’t believe how cold your winters can get. Not sure I could cope with that! We don’t generally get any lower than minus 5 Celsius in the winter in southern England. Yes I love digitalis too and usually plant some every year although I haven’t been very successful with them naturalising in my garden. I have also been to your fine country many times - California, Florida, Texas, Nevada, Michigan, New Jersey, Washington, Arizona and our son works in New York so we visit him there every year en route to wherever we are going. Best wishes, Jan

Love this! I needed this video for inspiration for my side yard! Does your house face south?
Yes, it faces south. There is a rather tall house to the south, however,. Unless the sun is quite high in the sky, the house does cast a shadow on some of the side yard.

Beautiful garden! I live in Brooklyn Park. I would like to know where you buy your plants and what fertilizer do you use? I am so inspired! Thank you!
Greetings to a fellow Minnesotan! Although we have probably purchased plants from every nursery at some time in the Twin Cities, we have recently purchased most of our plants from Bachmans. We have professionals fertilize our trees, but for the perennials I use an organic granular fertilizer (Dr. Earth) with a blend of 4-8-4. Because it's organic, the risk of "burning" the plant with too much fertilizer is minimized. Happy Gardening!
I just found your channel today.. Your yard/gardens are so pretty. I love the stone turtle. How long has it taken to get your place like this?
Thank you very much. Our garden is always a "work in progress", but most of our garden came into being about 14 years ago when we lost a gigantic elm tree (shade to sun in an instant). I love trees and they need time. The other plantings can look good in a very short time. I'm also a big believer in good bones, or hardscape for the garden. All the best.
